  1. Actually, that's the very point of the game itself: making you feel satisfied after completing it. The more difficult the game, the more satisfied you will be feeling (well, of course it needs a decent plot and stuff, but still my point is: numbers do not really matter, if not for bragging -an dI usually buy games for my own pleasure, not for bragging around-). Overall, I found kotor2 ridiculously easy (I also started a topic about this). Anyways, IMVHO.
  2. It would be enough if people learnt to use the <spoiler> tag in their posts (of course, with <> replaced by []).
  3. They actually are in kotor2. SPOILER>>> <<<SPOILER top secret spoiler: ps - for the few who don't know, just select the spoiler to read its content.
  4. Although far from perfect, I really appreciated the influence system. It added to the immersive experience, and in the end I grew really attached to some of my companions. At various times in the game, I've spent entire HOURS talking to every single party member, trying to get the most info out of them, about themselves, their backgrounds, the general background, recend events and history, and those few PC bonus. Next, some visual/numeric (like the Ls/DS scale) indicator would be great, to know how much influence we got on a given character, and possibly to see how they see each other (daydreaming now: and this should also affect their behaviour in case they are both in the party -eg: refusing to be talk openly, or even refusing to join the party, or keeping at a distance one from each other-).
  5. Coruscant - hell, yeah Mandalore - yeah Alderaan - yeah, anyday! Manaan - mmm. Only if nothing else original can be brought up. Being a water covered planet, this would mean having something too similar to k1 Hapes - mmm ok New Planet - oh yeah! and it better be a snowy one (but NOT Hoth!). Ithor - yeah Yavin 4 - please no. It'd just be as Kashyyyk or Dxun are (= jungle/forest). Unless it only allows the exploration of those massaassi temples and ruins (interiors only). But it already appeared in the jedi knight series, so I'd prefer not to see it anymore.
  6. one more: - fix the 'force-speed, run-around-then-map-lags-and-I-find-myself-travelling-through-walls-and-on-the-opposite-side-of-the-map' bug.
  7. More (said already, possibly): - as a Sentinel/Watchman, I could easily dispatch large groups of opponents just spamming Force Waves. Like 20 foes down in 3 combat rounds, without even taking a scratch and still having more than 90% of my force points. - always a Sentinel/Watchman, none of the three big bad guys/gals survived the 2nd round in combat, and I had not even upgraded my sabers to their best. None of them even tried using any buff or force power on me. Again, not a scratch taken (AC63 with buffs).
  8. Well, beside appreciating that many are proposing the same things I have, I kinda disagree with this. I'd instead like k3 to really stick (more than k2) with 3.5ED rules, which would provide nice balance and good character growth. Besides, such rules are uber-tested and proven to work GREAT. A system like the one you are suggesting is easily exploitable, and can easily make the game unbalanced. -IMHO-
  9. True. And, IMO, HK-47 is similar to C3PO, in a way. They both are biped standing droids instead of crawling cans, they both are very strict about their primary function (HK47 also has a line in k2 saying 'I am fluent in more than 6.000 languages' or kind of, a tribute to 'I am fluent in over than 6.000.000 forms of communication bla bla bla' line from C3PO in ROTJ), they both love to put their lines in unrequested, they both are often a pain in the *** to have around...
  10. TBH, I'm quite confident that, if k3 is ever going to exist, HK47 and T3-M4 will just be there. Anyone else sensing similarities with the droids in the movies?
  11. Honestly, this is more about spawn calibration... No need to go change the rules (which would need some polishing, tho), it was enough to, say, give 5 more levels to all big bosses and 1 or 2 to most common opponents. Well, this is just a quick 'n' cheap solution. Of course more testing, tweaking and stuff would have done the game great good, in terms of balance (and else). -IMHO-
  12. That's exactly what I meant. Nicely said. In RPG's, combat IS part of the story, and the two must exist in harmony. In k2, combat quickly becomes some kind of boring, spammy, sidegame, a sort of annoying game part which I just wanted to end asap due to its futility and lack of challenge/meaning/fun. edit - once and for all, time costraints ain't no ecxuse for releasing a buggy, unfinished, pre-alpha game. It's not up to me to say, buy what the hell, if they were given small time they could increase their personnel on the project, or hire more people, or god knows what else (I am little into marketing, but have been working some years as a programmer, so I know something about completing projects within given deadlines). At least, they could come up with something better (holy crap, what have they been doing since November, when xbox version was released?). That's their job. This said, I want to make clear that I hold no grudge to OE (I'm still going to BUY nwn2, or kotor3 if they will be the ones making it), neither I do blame them for the quality of the product: honestly, I believe LA (with their new game policies) is to be held the main responsible for all the crap which was attached to this game.
  13. I voted for yes, but still... ...well, my first k2 game (which is the most important and which got most influence on how I deem a game) ended with the screwed ending, and that does it. My k2 experience is now screwed for good, and it'll never be completely restored to what it 'could be'. Still, I'd like to see the real ending someday.
  14. I must be really dumb, because I'm not understanding. to me, this makes sense: [k1 engine] -> non graphical tweaks = higher sys requirement but this doesn't: [k1 engine] -> non graphical tweaks = texture quality loss Why? Did they use low quality textures on purpose? What are the reasons behind such a choice? (I'm talking about textures as an example, but that's not the only element looking worse in k2 than it did in k1)
  15. You're not mistaken. Same game engine. And that only puzzles me the more. How can the same game engine look/run worse after one year of work and tweaking? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Does no one read my posts? Crist, .... Yes, they tweeked the engine, but not for graphical improvements. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Easy, man. What you say can explain why sys reqs are higher even if the engine is the same. But it still can't explain why, say, texture are less detailed than those in k1.
  16. You're not mistaken. Same game engine. And that only puzzles me the more. How can the same game engine look/run worse after one year of work and tweaking?
  17. IMO, the scripted ending might be sw-like or not, good or bad, cruel or cheesy, whatever, but at least it is an ending, and it pertains to the game (which can't be said of the provided 'ending' -which to call an 'ending' at all is about over-stretching the meaning of the word itself-).
  18. As usual I'm very hopeful, but not much confident. Always expecting the worse.
  19. It is funny that you say this, when you openly admit to be saving levels until late to take more levels as a jedi (= powerplay = opposite of role playing)... Neverwinter Nights - great story, great combat Gothic II - great story, great combat Icewind Dale - great story, great combat and I could go on forever providing examples of well balanced games. However easy, Malak was by far more challenging (and charismatic as a bad guy) than X, Y and Z (the thee k2 bosses, which I don't want to spoil). Unfortunately, my opinion is based on how the game is, not on how it should/would have been. So, combat is too easy. I'm sorry if this sounds flame-ish, but, well, nothing personal, no offense meant, and IMHO of course. :]
  20. I see. I'm not much into hype and news, so I missed that. TY for replying anyways. Another deadly blow to my esteem for LucasArts. *sigh*
  21. I somehow agree. Textures especially looked much better in k1 then they do in k2. The overall smoothness of the graphics was better, too. the only thing which has improved with k2, is some AA and AF now being featured.
  22. Am I missing something, or is the feature actually in the game? It is explained on the game manual, but I can't really remember being able to use it anytime in the game. I wasn't even displayed the 'transit disabled' warning, like the one which appears in the game manual's screenshot of the 'map' screen.
  23. 1 - Already exists. Go to your journal, click on 'message logs' or something like that in the lower left corner, then select 'effects' tab from the upper menu. 2 - UP. UP UP AND UP.
  24. *points at ShadowPaladin in mock horror* GASP You're George Lucas! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ARGH! That's why the New Trilogy sucks (IMO, please no OT vs NT wars now)! GL spends way too much time lurking boards instead of making good movies!!! heh J/K. Btw, I'd be curious to know what GL considers k2...
  25. Yeah, that's what I mean. I can easily get through all k2 in solo mode, masterflurrying everything in my way, without even having to heal or shield myself. k1 required somewhat more teamwork (which doesn't really work in k2, 'coz the AI manages party members really bad -eg: I often had Kreia in my party with 'jedi support' behaviour hoping she would buff the whole party, and she always was the first one to rush to enemies trying to whack them with her poorly upgraded lightsaber-).
