:pukes: I never thought I'd say this, but that's a SW game I'll never want to play (although being both a great SW and lego fan).

Level 50? I don't know what you're talking about, but at the end of the game I was level 27 or so, and had about AC55 (without force buffs), and still nobody could touch me unless, again, he/she rolled a 20 (which is 5% chance of hitting me). -

Can we truly judge Obsidian based solely on KOTOR2
stoo replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That's coz you got it for free, possibly. J/K. :D Honestly, I must admit that I'm much more critique about games, since I started paying them with my painstakingly earned quids (no more money from parents or gifts or else for me). And a disappointing end really makes a game's expeirence bitter. Of course, I know this isn't anything personal from OE to make me angry. Or is it? -

True. But that would make the d20 system (which the whole game is based on) pointless. But, in an RPG, I still like the d20 system more, where combat doesn't get as frenzy/messy/hellish. -

Can we truly judge Obsidian based solely on KOTOR2
stoo replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well well. I actually HAVE been complaining about the game, and a little bit about Obsidian. But, also, I've always been saying that I wished OE will be the one developing K3, so they can prove what they're capable of. And I'm thinking of those games we know of, with great plots, great endings, cool combat and very few bugs (Black Isle Studios, anyone?). On my part, OE hasn't lost a customer. I'll buy nwn2, and k3 (whoever the developers will be). And I'll never judge any company on a one-game basis, else I would have stopped buying LucasArts games LONG time ago (Rebellion, anyone? Afterlife? MI4?), just to make a fitting example. -

Precisely! After a short while (say, after leaving Peragus), combat just became annoying to me because of its lack of challenge. It was just a pesky part of the game I HAD to get through because someone put it there, but it made no sense (two times only it's been kind of hard >SPOILER FOLLOWS<: . Anyways, I got through both situations with kinda ease, dying a couple of times at most). Btw, you pointed out two of the games with the worst combat systems E.V.A.H.. But I agree there too, k2' combat is still more fun and enjoyable. -
Mantle of Force and Heart of Guardian? I'm really scared about how they can boost the PC crystal... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Honestly, I just cared about the colour, not their uber-powah effects. Me is a hardcore esthete. And I can see the difference between Viridian and plain Green, and viridian sux0r (it looks like a 'dimmed' green, or kinda). IMO. ps - And my fav colour evah is Obi Wan saber's in ANH. That's some kind of very very very light blue, very close to white (actually, it's got an all-white 'core' and just a thin, light-blue 'outline', so to speak).

Silver and Green. I would have liked the aqua colour from kotor1, but either I missed it or they didn't implement it.

Unfortunately, this is t00 tr00. -
Phew, for a moment I thought you were going to show her in a Twi'lek dancing girl costume... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> PM me, and I'll send you a trash-undeground picture of Kreia wearing Leia' slave costume. *pukes*

Your eyes can deceive you. Don't trust them. She's human.

I stil think those 'things' are quite human hair pony-tails. Here is proof: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/kotor2/screens.html?page=171 (this one needs no comment) http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/kotor2/screens.html?page=169 (notice the strands, whereas a twi'lek 'tail' would be 'flat', and how hair bundles swell between those 'rings')

Go grab the numerous comic book series then. Released by Dark Horse comics, they are awesome, and they made me enjoy both kotor and kotor2 much more (since the comic books were released quite before the games). This is what you want to read, chronologically sorted (more recent events are in the last comic book listed): The Golden Age of the Sith The Fall of the Sith Empire Knights of the Old Republic The Freedon Nadd Uprising Dark Lords of the Sith Sith War Redemption Anyways, here's a good link: http://www.darkhorse.com/zones/starwars/ti...seg=oldrepublic

Btw, not that it'd change much, but how about sticking a 'forum rules and usage' thread here and in every other forum? Explaining where to post what, how to use html and UBB tags, what spoilers are and where they shouldn't be posted.

A Big ********* To Obsidian and LA
stoo replied to buttfacepoop's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
No, methinks LA also imposed some really tight developing deadlines, and had way too much weight in choosing what was to be in the game and what was not. -

So, looks like I'm no troll, this time. :] And yes. I'd never get tired of shouting out loud: gimme a Handmaiden (actually, THAT one Handmaiden) ANY DAY!!! ps - and I'd really like Obsidian to be developing k3, and them being allowed to take their time, so they could prove what bloody great games they can make!!! (IWD, IWD2, PT anyone?) -

Although her feelings and personality not being developed and dug as Bastila' were in kotor1, I didn't found the handmaiden that terrific. And I don't think she is meant to be a depiction of females, because of her role in the game, and her background (now, try growing up in a polar base, doing nothing but being trained -by a trainer as Atris can be- along with 5 other siblings in the art of combat every day of your life, and I'd like to see the results). What did you find so bad about her? How is she 'gratuitous'? -
Difficulty levels - how hard is hard?
stoo replied to Simon Appleton's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah, those too. And many others. Some items are just way too powerful (expecially those which granted +5 to a given stat) and way too easy to find at relatively low PC level. A quick idea to explain how IRL could be applied, say, to lightsabers: each one of the 5 upgrade slots in a lightsaber (I'm not taking the colour crystal slot into account) could be restrained to a given level, so, say, when the lightsaber is found, the player can only access one of its 5 upgrade slots, and then a new upgrade slot becomes available every 'given number' of levels. This would also be more realistic, because I doubt a novice Jedi already has all the skill necessary to overclock his saber to extreme levels. -just my 1.99 cents- -peace- -

IRL's? Chamdar, you do have some points. I realize that the bosses can kill you in only a few hits, the problem is that a well-built character can kill them before they get a hit in on you, theoretically. Especially if you use flurry. I suppose what I personally want in that regard are some bosses with more durability. Also the natural regeneration seems a bit... much. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> IRL = Item Required Level, one of the most controversial item properties in d'n'd core rules. eg, item X has IRL=12, meaning that you can't equip/use it until your pc is level 12 or above. Honestly, about what I suggested, what would -IMVHO- be most feasible and appreciated would be slowing levelling down (reducing gained XP will easily do the trick) and raising the encounters' levels. -

stoo replied to Simon Appleton's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
just a few quick ideas (and/or applies to them all): Better opponents AI: a smart and efficent use of force powers, healing kits, grenades. More levels to bosses: this implies better stats, skills, feats. Slower PC levelling. Less encounters overall, but more challenging. Higher IRL's applied to items. Crafting more difficult: it was not long before I could get my hands on regenerative underlays for my armour, which alone often puts the game off-balance. -
What kotor1 character do you want to see in kotor3
stoo replied to Bokishi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Revan, Bastila and Jolee.
