  1. Well... that's your opinion. You can say it again, but that doesn't make it a fact. And your opinion is in 1/3 minority. You can assume only crazy game romance addicts come and vote here, but you know what assuming does, right? Now Obsidian can make the game they want, if they'd do everything according to polls here and elsewhere, it'd be a really strange and bad game. But if they want the public opinion, it's right there on the poll stats.
  2. *sarcasm begins here* If you want to flirt with and date an elf princess, or tame a rough assasin brute with your body, do so in real life! Your wife wont mind your occasional joyrides. Besides, all game romances are just 2 lines of text and then "you had amazing sex". It can be no other way. And writing such volumes takes 2 months of developement time, for each line. And then there's no time left to add the plot, which sucks. *sarcasm ends here*
  3. I'm probably just imagining it, but... are the options maybe ever so slightly biased towards no scaling? BTW, beside rats, don't make me fight random wolves or bears either. Those are wildlife and run away or avoid humans. Usually.
  4. A large variety, but rather not the usual rpg: "sweet talk and gift her through chapters 1, 2, and 3, and you'll get a kiss and pledge of undying devotion in the end of chapter 4" rather something like: - platonic deep bond through shared hardship. - mutual affection, either turning into love through time, or not - just get drunk the day you meet and conquer his/her butt while he/she's passed out. - lonely people on a hopeless quest, occasionally sharing the bed But don't make it necessary to partake, and don't do those "oh, if you didn't pick the "line b" in chapter 2, the subplot ended right there. It just seems improbable to trek around the countryside for a year with this omg hot hot bikini elf babe you picked up from the dark fortress of leather and whips, and it'd actually never come up that maybe, just maybe, you'd like to...
  5. If Baldurs Gate required one time online activation (from black isle servers), there'd have been no (legal) way to play it in the last decade (assuming people don't have their decade old PC's in use). I can live with Steam and I pledged $20. But if there's confirmation the boxed version will have no DRM at all, I'll change my pledge to $100 or $140. Or if there's some midway pledge, where the game will be on gog.com instead of steam, I'll take that.
