  1. While I think most of this update sounds pretty good (love the prison idea) I gotta say I'm disappointed not to see any mention of decisions you have to make about your lands. This is something that was in BG2 and those were fun little decisions that would really make you feel like you were a lord, instead of some guy with a pretty big house. Especially in a game that's all about reactivity, wouldn't it be great to see political choices you make work out on the way your lands look?
  2. I'm surprised that you could make that amazing concept art look even better in-game!
  3. Honestly for me, in this age of YouTube videos, I'd love to read a blog about his experiences. I think it'd be more personal and funny like that. I swear I'm not just saying that to cause more work for you Chris!
  4. I absolutely despise auto-updates on anything, so I'm not too interested in this. All I can picture is some annoying screen telling me 'PLEASE WAIT WHILE PROJECT ETERNITY CHECKS FOR UPDATES' when I just want to play my friggin' game already.
  5. No one's saying we want a Bioware romance, we're just saying we want romances period. Of course a well written and well thought out romance is much preferable to the superficial '4 lines of dialogue every 2 hours' romances we got in Mass Effect for example. I think that, now that Obsidian is not bound by VO budget, they could (and should) finally deliver a deep and interesting romance story again.
  6. Protip: Baldur's Gate 2, one of the main inspirations for this game and quite possibly the best game ever made, also had romances, and they were very interesting. Was that a 'next-gen Bioware thing' too?
  7. The amount of LULZBIOWARE hate in these threads surprise me. Did I miss the memo? I thought it was only casuals jumping on the 'hate Bioware because of ME3' bandwagon, not actual RPG fans. I, for one, enjoy relationship options in my games. Not only does it make my character seem more real and involved, it's also just a fact of life that if a group of people are together on an adventure for months at a time, some things *will* happen. Call me a roneryfag, but I really like to get a chance to be with the pretty elf girl if I so choose, instead of being limited to playing a band of merry friends. Just my 2 cents, of course. I just hope Obsidian isn't influenced too much by the raging in here.
  8. This should depend entirely on the setting like some other people have said. If they can work things like guns and tanks into a high fantasy setting, by all means be my guest, but if we're in a medieval-style high fantasy game and then suddenly someone pulls out a gun, it will look very forced and stupid. Personally, I'd be fine with bows and arrows.
  9. Personally, I loved the romances in Baldur's Gate 2 (including Throne of Bhaal). They were well written, spanned many, many hours, and really got you involved in the relationship. However, even that paragon of romance writing was missing something which drove me and some other players to download 'extended romance mods'. I hope we can get an expansive romance story that includes both 'random' chats, as an option to initiate talks, and (of course?) sexual encounters. ****, Aerie getting pregnant in Throne of Bhaal was amazing.
