  1. @Elerond I was talking about this type of protein. Not sure where they are at with this now though https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/10/201029104951.htm
  2. And they will be going up further. You can't conjure more food out of thin air, and limiting mobility and access to seasonal jobs would also raise prices due to either lower output or higher cost of production. No one talks about it yet, but there will be a breaking point in the debt driven permanent growth based economy, as you will reach limit of space/housing and drive those up in price (for example, see if there is no odd occurances of increasing prices of estate while at the same time lowering the number of sales, normally it should drive prices lower eventually, right?) and food prices going faster up than the wages in the lower percentiles of incomes. EDIT: additional reason, why they want to produce protein food out of bugs in EU, to substitute current food sources for the masses.
  3. Well, it does make the Rus clandestine look very incompetent, if they can't close the deal now with two poisonings pushed onto their list of deeds. I mean, why go such lengths, when there are much simpler ways of vanishing people on the territory Russia or even outside of it? You would also not get a 'martyr' figure for the proper narrative in the western media, had the disposals were effective. While I can't prove or disprove anything on this topic, the situation benefits a certain narrative.

  5. His maybe not, but a lot of people's who went after him a day after, most likely are.
  6. @Guard Dog I was surprised you didn't put some Simpsons clip to the last paragraph
  7. https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/reddit-trader-deep****ingvalue-loses-19-million-two-days-he-holds-gamestop-stock Wonder how many dream chasers got left in tears after being played by big sharks cannibalizing smaller funds (looking at you Citadel)
  8. https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/news/releases/ag-paxton-issues-cids-robinhood-discord-citadel-and-others-suspended-stock-trading-and-investing I wonder what our friend @Gromnir thinks of this
  9. Donnors, i think there is some difference not that it would matter in the overall, but the details are sometimes important
  10. @Amentep Seems that without Trump, this thread looks more desolate. Maybe its time to merge both politcs threads again?
  11. Well, you can sure bet that SEC will step in, to 'protect' and dems of the like of Pelosi and Biden will regulate the s--- out of the retail investing. It's fun and game until people will start losing money, in the meanwhile you have HFTs getting rich and some craze on the OTC deals, where hedge funds reposition, while some smaller funds will suffer as a collateral damage. I wonder what FED thought that will happen with 0% to negative yields and helicopter money dropped onto the market. Inflation had to materialize somewhere, if not in the real economy and prices it was bound to appear in stock market. The whole thing is so inflated and out of touch from fundamentals, that's just nutts. You have real economy suffering worst gdp in decades in many developed countries, yet stock markets are sky high at the record values. EDIT also this https://www.gisreportsonline.com/opinion-modern-monetary-theory-is-no-cure-for-the-savings-shortage-illness,economy,3414.html EDIT2: And also this: https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/peter-schiff-jerome-powell-completely-clueless

  14. Well, it is ought to end up with losses for a lot of small folk 'rallying' behind the just case. Meanwhile HFTs rake in money at some collateral cost of bailing a Fund for the chunk of ownership in the bailed out Fund.
  15. heh, intresting, but how much of it is true, we will probably never know, although I'm keen to believe that there was some political partisans during the time leading to elections and inauguration. https://www.zerohedge.com/political/all-hail-reopening
  16. I guess I need to avoid writing simplified versions of what drives what. I guess you do you. In the meanwhile, look at what I've posted to @Guard Dog as a reply in one of the threads, and what I would do and what I wouldn't do, and then compare that to the date I said it and now think how do I feel based on the last couple trading days. Some things happened, some didn't (or did?) trigger (yet? maybe? who knows? )
  17. I'd agree, if this game was a more fair game than your typical casino. There are some rules in that part of gambling for some reason.
  18. Market, or FED printing machine that pushed money through banks and treasury, who gulped the money from the market to run high deficit, and push the money onto hands of masses of people, who without jobs try their luck as retail traders. Eventually a lot of them will end up broke at best, while the fat sharks, with little collaterall damahe will rake with money. One of the reasons, you do not see inflation going nutts, is that a lot of money sits in the stocks, so the impact of the printing machine nd skyrocket debt is withheld from small folk by low velocity of that cash.
  19. And who poured all that free cash onto the market, which enabled this insanity?
  20. Established by whom? Have there been a real application of it? Or something near it? Look what we have when you get policy makers tinkering too much. Valuations out of @ss in the stocks, bankrupt companies getting to high stocks (Hertz last year), or companies with no prospects going record high (Gamestop insanity). Perpetuating debt driven economy, which will either result in inflating the debt away, making a lot of people poor, or crashing markets as evetually the debt spiral will lead to a point, when the growth value will be consistently outpaced by debt service costs value, and that will make also a lot of people poor and helpless as all the programs and a lot of jobs will be lost. Healthy economy, same as healthy household/company can't run on debt ad infinitum. Temporary debt can boost growth prospects and overall propserity by smart use of money, but those should be mixed with periods of reducing debt significantly or no debt at all.
  21. https://mobile.reuters.com/article/reutersComService_2_MOLT/idUSKBN29W0ZV Wonder what the statment from AZ will be
  22. https://breakingdefense.com/2021/01/israelis-say-theyll-attack-iran-if-us-eases-sanctions/ Wonder what will be the overall path. EU was happy to have the deal reinstated.
  23. @Gromnir Would you know what is this about? Some Ute-tribe letter against Biden's action? Related to Oil/Energy apparently
