  1. I could actually see them as some kind of Cipher speciality too, if the Cipher specializes on Buffs/debuffs. Unless, of course, Paladin don't make sense Lore-wise in this setting. People have been talking about how the classes are "DnD" but when i actually read the descriptions of the classes, i really don't feel that they are truly D&D... Or if they are, they are to "DnD" as 4ed is to 1stEd
  2. That really depends on the deities available, though. Being a warrior-priest means very different things according to whose priest you are. Whereas the paladin is very specific ideal that some of us would like to be catered to. Though I would be happy having it catered to in another class so long as that other class explicitly got the option to go the monastic knight route, having an acknowledged paladin class would do much to guarantee this archetype. With multiple gods, Paladins obviously have different morals depending on whose Paladin you are. Not really, at least given the 'Fighter' description. The Fighter description showed that he is a master-of-all-arms damage-soaker with a few different tricks. 'Barbarians' and 'Monks' are not damage "slow and steady" as such. In some ways, a Barbarian is more like a "Hero" who, the more he is hurt, the stronger he is. OTOH, a monk seems to be some kind of cleric/thief hybrid. Not sure about Monks though, as there is no real intel there.
  3. If you actually read the "Priest" description in the latest update, as well as other times they were talked about by the Devs in forums, you'll notice that "Priests" seem to be, at least in parts, Paladins. Not in a "mechanic" way, but in a ROLEPLAY way, they are Paladin.

Ok, a few things: Under 3 Mil: -Polish, Italian, Russian translation -Makes all areas fuller: make sure everyone has a little dialog here and there, a little anedoct that will make the world feel real. -Have more than one big city: Remember Akathla, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter? Have more than one of those, and make sure that each has the same amount of quest as Akhatla had. Above 3 mil: -Orchestra -An Arena, with not only a long ass sidequest, but an Arena that can be used as an Arena, to fight against both powerful monsters and characters. Increases fame and so on. 4 Mil: Ok, i know this one will be divisive, but i loved SoZ overland map. I want the map travel to be like that. PLEASE.
  5. Even the 'Magic' part is very hard to vote anything in it, as it doesn't really take into account the more subtle stuff. For example, i would myself be more for a system with only 'mana', but where you not only regenerate mana slowly (as in, it would maybe take 2 minutes of real time gaming to regenerate enough for a fireball), but the regenerated pool max dimnish the more spells you use (only way to bring it back to max is sleeping at a temple or something).
  6. No, they weren't the same. BG2 had more enemies if you were higher levels, as well as different ones- sometimes greater mummies instead of mummies, sometimes liches where there were vampires, and so on. The fact that you didn't notice it is because it was well done. Also, it is the same for BG1- except that BG1, having only 7 or so level, four of those being maybe in the first 2 hours of playing, it was much harder to notice.
  7. Kinda disappointed that there STILL isn't a big ass stretchgoal for the 4million+ mark, so that people feel a need to pledge. Right now, the stretchgoals are all in the "they'll happen anyway" range, so people really don't find a reason to up their pledges.
  8. Yes, on release. The only game i can think of that wasn't translated was Daggerfall.
  9. I am a bit ambivalent about this. GIven the world, i would say that it should not be low magic. However, the powerful magic should be rare and not a dime a dozen. Basically, i don't mind if every shop has some magic trinket. Hell, even if there is next to no "nonmagic" gear. However, the good stuff should not be close to that easy to get.
  10. If you can kill all of those critters without doing anything else, it's obviously not something that gives you experience, so that makes sense.
  11. Some JRPG have a good way to do this: unlock a secondary effect of a spell or an advanced version of said spell when it has been used a number of times. For example, keep the nomal XP system, but a fireball would get some minor but appreciable benefit if you use the spell a lot. Not something that utterly change the gameplay, but a nice 'perk' for using a certain type of ability.
  12. Nwn2 soz- style. The overland map there was really, really fun, and improving on the concept could really make Eternity unique.
  13. I can see anything between 3 and 6 millions, most likely above 4 millions.
  14. Any Bethesday one, BG/BG2, PS:T, Arcanum, DA:O, DA2, Drakensang, Witcher/2, Might and Magic games, NWN games... need i go on?
  15. D'accord. I'm just surprised that anyone is actually expecting more than that. An rPG that is less than 50hrs long is not, in my mind, an rpg.
  16. Are you joking? RPG used to have multiplayer much more often than they do now.
  17. Yes, and that's not as expensive as you'd expect it to be. Translators aren't paid much for translating a single book, and if it's a game where the cohesiveness is much lower, well...

I promise you that while the Dutch and the Swedes may often speak english with a flawless American or British accent, probably thanks to their habit of utilizing subtitles for Spongebob and not dubbing it (I kid you not, subtitles are amazing for learning english), the French and my German brethren can be quite bad about speaking english. Don't think Spain is wild about truly learning the language either. Pretty much. As said, those kind of rpg are VERY popular in France/Germany (not sure about Spain/Italy), but the players often have a walls when it comes to english that is more or less "Can play the game, but would make it much harder" to the point they wouldn't try it unless it's already immensely popular. Also, people are widely over-estimating the cost of translation. We are not talking Dubs here, just changing text, and text translators are not paid that much.
  19. Multiplayer for those sort of games are usually very, very fun. It's just that it needs to be well done.
  20. Multi-langual is necessary. While most of the world understand english to a degree or another, there is a difference between understanding english and liking playing a whole game in english. They would cut themselves off from maybe 40% of their public.
