That's the very word I used on Something Awful. I am interested in giving that a shot, sounds better than the current system.

[435] Poor Quality Loading Screen Images
Sensuki replied to Sensuki's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
Well the images themselves are about ~1MB in difference each, and there's not like super heaps of different load screens - so it'd be about 30MB on disk and a few MB in memory usage (depending on how garbage collection is handled etc) - not that much of a difference. The game is using up a lot less memory now, the max I've seen is around 1.6-1.7 GB which is good, and safe for 32-bit machines. -
Negative Deflection and Concentration aren't really things that you want. As above though, they may be moving to integers.
-
According to this tweet by Josh Sawyer from 4 Feb, it appears bonus interrupt may be being changed to integers, and Concentration just needs to be rolled over. I've also seen that bug many times in previous builds, but never been sure what caused it.

[435] Save/Load Issues w/ Difficulty Levels
Sensuki replied to Litany's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
Path of the Damned and Expert Mode are supposed to be persistent I believe, as in if you select them at the beginning you won't be able to change them back -
[435] Poor Quality Loading Screen Images
Sensuki replied to Sensuki's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
Yeah I'd really prefer to have the HQ images back - will save me modding them back in Someone did HQ music and HQ movie patches for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2, so it's gonna happen here too -

but muh image quality -
When they fix the Interrupt bug in the next patch we'll be able to test it, but I have a feeling that just like v257/v278 that both Perception and Resolve will be dumpable (or just left at 10) except on a limited number of builds - such as dual wielding Barbarians with a large Carnage AoE. As I said earlier in the thread, maybe +1 Accuracy with Interrupt on Perception would be better, as +2 Accuracy was too high, and Interrupt is reliant on good Accuracy to be effective anyway).

Regardless of the tone of the post, and the fact that some of the complaints are simply because of lack of familiarity with 'the way things are done', in this game - such as how to properly target spells and such, there are a few legitimate complaints in there. I made a suggestion to improve ray/cone spell casting but I'm not sure if they'll have time to do it before release, and I do think that the range of some spells could be increased.

New Engine?
Sensuki replied to Aoha's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I think it was explained previously (by Josh?) that implementing it would be time consuming and was not a priority for release, which was perfectly understandable. I know I'd prefer 20-30 bugs fixed by release and have individual stealth in a patch or expansion For many of us this is a learning experience regarding what is/isn't possible at different stages of a project. -
That said, the cast range on a lot of the Wizard (and Priest) spells are a bit short, and Ray and Cone spells could work a bit better.

[435] Issue with Wood Beetle AI and Fog of War
Sensuki posted a question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
Wood Beetles seem to lose interest the moment they can no longer see you in the Fog of War, not sure how relevant this is to other enemy types Expected Result: Wood Beetles should probably chase you through the Fog of War once you've been seen. -
Anyone been using low damage weapons this build? With crits being rare and the changes to damage calculation I think it makes them utter rubbish. Been using 1H normal weapons (war hammers, maces, spears, swords) in dual wielding or two handers. Haven't been using ranged much either, just not enough DPS.
-
Yeah, I should have done that. Still haven't been able to reproduce it yet, but I'll keep trying.

[435] Combat Log Resize Selection Area is too small
Sensuki posted a question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
This video demonstrates how it is a bit difficult to select the combat log resize area to resize the combat log, it was fine in previous versions. -
As stated earlier in this thread, all creatures have base 50.

[435] Vicious Fighting Talent doesn't appear to work
Sensuki posted a question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
I don't think Vicious Fighting has ever worked The description says it should add +10% Hit to Crit conversion on top of the 10% you get from Dirty Fighting, however in combat I have Dirty Fighting active and the active effects says that I've only got +10% Hit to Crit chance. -

[435] Mail Coif clipping into certain armors
Sensuki posted a question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
I equipped a Mail Coif and found that it clips into various armors. I tested it on multiple female party members and it clipped into Fine Padded Armor, Fine Breastplate and one of the unique leather armor sets Wouldn't be surprised if it clips into more armor sets than that as well -
The problem is, in application, that buffing yourself as a Wizard is not useful, because ... why? Often you can avoid being targeted in 95% of the encounters, you don't need to buff yourself if you're not getting targeted. What's more, buffing yourself is not doing anything to kill enemies, and while you're buffing yourself, they are attacking your party members. It's almost always far more effective to spend your actions casting damage spells or crowd control spells. My first two actions as a Wizard are usually almost always double spamming Arcane Assault, otherwise it would be casting Slicken or something. Eldritch Aim is good though. Same. I would pick Blast, Penetrating Blast, maybe Weapon Focus and/or Bonus Spells.

Interrupt has several base values 0, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70.
