[435] Three minor Lle A Rhemen issues
Sensuki replied to Sensuki's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
I'm also getting these lines spammed repetitively in my output_log in Lle A Rhemen 01 NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at UIMapTooltip.Set (UnityEngine.GameObject target) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UIMapTooltipManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 -

The PE IE Mod Thread - Draggable UI Now Available!
Sensuki replied to Sensuki's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
What platform? (Win/Mac/Linux?) -
Issue #1: If you save a game near where some Spectres spawned, you see their death animations play upon loading a save game. May or may not be unfixable. Issue #2: Interactable icons are only visible until you click them for the first time, then they become invisible (this is really obvious) Issue #3: The bodies in the video have huuuuge selection areas, and are super annoying to navigate around because you continuously open empty corpses. I'd recommend at least tightening the selection areas, if not making bodies with no more loot unlootable after you've looted everything from them.

Rest-Spamming: Good or No?
Sensuki replied to Gairnulf's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I would have preferred campsites too, but it's no big deal. The less rests per game the better, IMO. -
Crossbow: 22-33 base damage 40 interrupt no penalties Pistol: 17-25 base damage 30 interrupt -0.3 crit mult -5 Accuracy They have exactly the same attack/reload speed (even though the hit frame and recovery/reload lengths are different, they meet up at the same point) Crossbow is flat out better. Pistol needs a slight bump (don't nerf the Crossbow).
-
Pulled the base stats Crossbow: 22-33 base damage 40 interrupt Pistol 17-25 base damage 6 DR bypass -0.3 crit multiplier 30 interrupt -5 Accuracy Crossbow is better Reported it: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70706-435-crossbow-and-pistol-balance/
-
Yeah well, the game in general favors hard hitting over fast hitting, except in some cases where dual wielding is pretty good. I haven't really used pistols or crossbows much in a playthrough. What I meant was, is that they are balanced against each other. Lead Splitter is probably better than both of them, but it's a 'magical' blunderbuss. Hopefully bows are given a bump in the next patch.

[435] Background skill bonus inconsistencies
Sensuki replied to Sensuki's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
Could probably put it on Drifter or Hunter -
Well, Crossbows and Pistols are well balanced. Crossbows are more accurate and do more base damage. Pistols are less accurate and have higher DR bypass, so when armor is high the pistol does more damage. They both have the same attack/recovery speed, even though the reload animations are different lengths

[435] Enemies still have poor targeting AI (and other bugs)
Sensuki replied to Sensuki's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
Just for comparison, here's a snippet from my IWD Let's Play that shows how good the AI targeting in Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter was Fast forward to 1:30 Look how fast the Verbeeg switch targets based on movement and situation changes in combat. I move a character back, the Verbeeg instantly switches targets, which I think only happens in this game if a character is engaged by multiple enemies and one enemy leaves engagement. Very soon after another Verbeeg targets one character, and then instantly after it gets hit, it switches to the character that landed the first melee hit on it. Great stuff. -

Shift-select issues -
In the Infinity Engine games (yes, my favourite saying), you could shift-select and control-select characters. In Pillars of Eternity you can control select characters, but it looks as if shift-select is half-implemented or something. When you hold shift and select another character, the selection circle of the character that you previously had selected stays selected. This gives you the impression that they are selected, when they are not. Personally I don't see why you shouldn't be able to both control and shift select/unselect characters. I don't believe that it would interfere with shift-queuing of actions.

[435] Mouse scroll speed is tied to the frame rate
Sensuki replied to Sensuki's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
Yeah it's only mouse scroll speed. Keyboard scroll speed is a consistent speed. Might be an input problem. -

[435] Mouse scroll speed is tied to the frame rate
Sensuki posted a question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
This may be unavoidable, but the mouse edge scrolling is tied to the frame rate of the game. Is it possible at all to make the scroll speed independent of the FPS ? -
I believe that chart is out of date. Just did some testing, 1H style is actually faster now I think. Undocumented change. edit 2: nope, they're the same ... the other thing might be a bug (BB Dwarf and PC with 10 Dex attack at different speeds without armor).
