  1. Just going by the game's nomenclature. http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Weapon I believe they're using Arbalests instead of Heavy Crossbows due to the fact that it's a 16th century style setting rather than medieval.
  2. Thought I spotted a bug in the combat log watching the Gamescom video: (excuse the 2mb png) Wood Beetle grazes BB Fighter for 2 piercing damage. ... but BB Fighter with additional effect. I'm guessing that's supposed to be ... but inflicts? BB Fighter with <something>. Probably just an incomplete string / string typo. Feel free to move to the bug reporting thread when it goes up (probably later this week).

  4. I played through half of the Orc Fortress in Knights of the Chalice with 3 party members on 1HP. Took me about 100 reloads but I FFFFFFF DID IT. Reason: didn't explore the part of the outer map where there's a rest spot in a house.
  5. Sure, but I'm just saying that if auto-attack was on, Adam would not have been butchered by beetles in that instance.
  6. Cheers for the reply. Thanks for taking what I said correctly, the topic of the female chest area in games is a touchy one so I knew I'd be raising a few eyebrows bringing that issue up, but it was literally like the first thing I saw off in the video. I still think a more curved look would give better uniformity with the other "larger breasted" armors, such as the chain, just so that it looks a bit more believable that the female model would be able to fit herself into the plate. I'm going to be doing a video let's play and article for the RPGCodex and I'm going to do a pretty lengthy section on the character creation, so I'll quite happily cycle through every piece of character art available and see if I can find anything else that feels out, and I'll paste you the link / post it here. Keep up the great work. Photoshopped by evdk of RPGCodex.
  7. Yeah - AI Script: default, which was just an auto-attack when idle clause. Came with all Companions in the BGs, and all characters in the IWDs.
  8. Actually the IE games had a button on the UI called "Party AI", which was not related to any AI template whatsoever. When Party AI was turned on, every NPC companion would auto-attack enemies on sight if idle in the Baldur's Gates (but not the player made characters) and in Icewind Dale player made characters auto-attacked (p. sure anyway). This is a simple part of RTS gameplay that seems sorely lacking here. You should definitely be able to disable auto attack if you don't want it, but it should be in there.
  9. Auto attack is not enabled (if the game has it), that's why Adam lost. He had idle party members sitting there doing nothing both times. He was just doing a poor job of micro-managing his characters in it's absence.
  10. Well it was like the first wrong thing I noticed since it was in the character creation. I've mentioned a few more things since, but since people kept challenging my view, I focused on that more than anything.
  11. Why? They're relevant to the topic. I'm raising an inconsistency about the character modelling. I'm not crying out for manga boobs, or boob plate.
  12. I'm afraid that the Brigandine has the same issue as the plate, it certainly looks like it on the orlan female character. BTW I see they fixed the bug with Constant Recovery. Nice to see some weapons having a proper combat stance, although I'm waiting for the low guard / shield held to the side to be fixed up and more combat fidgets/higher fidget rate to be added in eventually.
  13. Agreed. The Watcher of the Dyrwood is likely the Act (Act 2 I would say), and all caps on that just looks silly.
  14. It looked like auto attack is not turned on. I saw a few of Adam's characters literally standing there doing nothing not attacking enemies a few times. In the IE games this would happen to the PC characters if they were not assigned a script (until they were attacked, I believe). NPCs with "AI mode" turned on always attacked the nearest enemy.
  15. In the chain mail armor, the female model used looks like it's been modeled wearing a "push up bra", they would be hanging way lower on the chest normally. To flatten those for the plate armor, you'd have to press them down lower into the armor - there is no room, because the plate hugs the figure tightly and is thinner.
  16. The amount of attribute points you get now is much better. Much more "D&D" style arrays. I'm not big on the fact that monsters currently can't see you when they are like 10-15 metres away.
  17. Here's a version with both the models in the default viewing angle. I don't think you could fit those knockers in that chest plate, you'd need a bigger one (like the male plate curve). If the curve clearly seen in the middle of the plate was brought out a bit more, then that would probably make it look more believable.
  18. I'll see if I can get a better cap, but it literally looks like they've used the same proportions for the grey model as the chain, they've just removed the upper chest area. To me it just doesn't look right and a curved version like the male plate would look much better.
