  1. Jumping the gun here I realize, but... Prior to the release of BioWare's newly created Dragon Age universe, lead writer David Gaider wrote a couple books which gave us an early look at the history, culture, setting, etc. I realize this team will be much smaller, but has there been any consideration of perhaps writing something to give us a brief overview of "The World" (which I assume will get a proper name eventually)?
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if the game is 20 hours and has diverse enough options to support 5 playthroughs. Does that count? If it's 20 hours, please confirm prior to the 16th so I can lower my donation. I want a game, not an expansion pack. Seriously what do you expect a Baldurs Gate 3? This game has a small budget and if the Main story is like 20 hours its a decent length if they also include lot of side stuff which is interesting. Why yes, I would like BG3! That said, I'd rather have a longer, more interesting story than a short one with a whole lot of replayability. I will maybe replay an RPG several years after my initial playthrough, but only if it was very good. Choosing different companions or deciding to go tackle "X" questline prior to "Y" questline this playthrough isn't really a draw for me. It's still, ultimately, the same story. Plus, I consider myself a "completionist" when it comes to RPGs, so I squeeze every ounce of content out the first time through. Admittedly, if there's one thing I miss by doing that, it's that I will then not get the content provided by the companions I don't hang with. However, there's a reason I didn't have them in my party the first time, so they wouldn't present enough interest by themselves to prompt a 2nd run.
  3. I know it won't happen, but D&D 4.5 system...
  4. I think they're going to trickle to a halt on or about 2mil. EDIT: Unless more major gaming publications carry the story within the next week or two.

  6. I picture, like, two sweaty dudes in a closet sharing a Mac. With maybe an intern, on occasion, entering to check for a pulse. I'm probably way off, though.
  7. Anything less than about 60 hours would disappoint me. I realize that the vast majority of players will never see the end in that scenario but.... I simply don't care. It's tough to be "epic" without a significant time sink, provided the quality maintains its integrity.
  8. This was my other concern. And even moreso than product placement, this could be a very touchy subject. Folks are paying a grand, and I'm sure many, if not most, will want to be their own walk-on NPC (I would).
  9. I was thinking more along the lines of "Sir The Situation, Knight of the Realm".
  10. Really looking forward to helping design and name an epic item in the game, but then I got to thinking-- what if a company jumps in on a bid to "name" an item, NPC or tavern for the sole purpose of product placement? Are we going to be bringing our Viagara Sword of Doom into the Ye Olde McDonald's Tavern, etc? Talk about an immersion killer...
  11. Whomever did the music for NWN2... Especially the expansions. Very good stuff.
  12. I dropped some serious bank on this, but I really can't imagine a more promising gaming scenario, quite frankly.
