I'm Chinese, I just don't speak it...lol. Parents won't help me out. I'm gonna get small-sized Chinese symbols on the side of my calf. I want it to be translated to Happiness, Love, Inner Strength in that order. Anyone know if this correct order in Chinese? Or should Inner Strength be on top since it is two words? Which way is correct? Happiness Love Inner Strength <--this will be vertical, no JS Or Inner Strength <--this will be vertical, no JS Happiness Love

Alright, I think I'll be free to write after summer class finals. Did you get the subtle things in this story, such as: The black Hummer parked outside the building near the end belonged to Vincent and the license plate NO RDMPT means "No redemption"? The reason Vincent used a flamethrower as his weapon of choice against the vampires was because that was how he first saw a vampire killed when he was a little boy? Brian was fighting like a police officer at the beginning but then he began to fight more like a vampire as the story goes on because he is reverting more and more back to his self-identity as a vampire? (I should have mentioned in the story somewhere that Brian was a constable in his former life, and he was a cop because he was trying to repeat his former life again) There may be other ones. Was it easy for you to notice it?

Oh and how long did it take you to read the whole thing? Did you read it right away, or a bit at a time? I was trying a bit to make it fast to read.

Thanks for the inputs. I guess it was too fast paced. Maybe adding some more theme wouldn't hurt. Anybody looking forward to reading a sequel if I add more theme to the existing character, or should I just start on a whole new universe? And yeah, I'll contact Baley. Never put any story I wrote in an online mag before, but I guess I can try to see how it goes after I polish it up a bit. Maybe add more in the way of theme something as to why the main character is a cop (because he was a constable in his past life).

I'll rate it 6.5 or 7, but you don't have to read it if you don't want to. I'm not paying you for this so no big deal man.

I got medically discharged from the Marines. I can't be drafted. I'm not talking for me. Whoever who wants to fight can go do it by themselves. Leave the those who don't want to fight out of it.

At least I know who the real cowards are. And they are not the ones who are unwilling to fight for someone else. They are the ones who make others fight for them. The only thing worse than being killed in an unjust cause is killing somebody else for an unjust cause. Or indirectly by doing the paperwork or support work that makes the system work for others to do the killing, the blood is still on your hands. I think that statement is way underrated.

If a draft starts the year you turn 20, you're SOL. You'll be called first until there is nobody left who is turning 20. That's your hold-your-breath year to be probably called up on somebody else's facist agenda and participate in national offense as opposed to defense. Once every able bodies 20 year old are called up, then it'll be 21, 22,+ in that order, till 26 and then 18 and 19. If a year passes, then it resets to the new 20 year old turners. If you're out of the US, I dunno how they do conscription in your country. Maybe you can enlighten the rest of us on how your country's conscription system works.

Well, in most space movies, why are there always a freaking pilot in a ****pit of fighters? With all that cool giz whiz space technology they have, the pilot can be controlling the fighter by remote control somewhere in the mothership. Heck, the USA is using unmanned drones more and more to replace fighters. No ****pit and life support systems means the fighter can be smaller and more mobile with bigger payload.
