  1. The OKC3S bayonet? Or a different model knife?
  2. It's called the OKC3S (OKC stands for Ontario Knife Company and the 3S means 3 serrations) It's also called the USMC Multi-Purpose Bayonet. Replaced the M7 bayonet in 2002. It can double as a fighting knife. The length of the blade is 8". Damn thing costs nearly $150. It's on backorder right now. Not that I plan on using it, but as a collection (not a knife collection, but a collection of things I like). Plan on taking basic blade lessons so I can at least use it for self defense in places where my handgun would be illegal to carry (as in California, lots of places) without cutting myself up. However, I plan never to use it in real life other than extreme utility purposes, self-defense training, or as a survival knife if I ever get lost hiking.
  3. Can gun control work in Iraq and Afghanistan? Take Ak-47's away from every household. Why or why not? They use bombs more than guns there anyways.
  4. What was so bravado about me saying that I got a handgun?
  5. Well, the fact that invading since Saddam is a dictator surely isn't a US affair since it doesn't affect American people. Thus it wasn't an American/British affair. So it's a world affair. So why are only American/British (a token handful of others) troops in?
  6. Everyone in the world is responsible, since this is a world affair, no?
  7. I don't know why USA and Britain are taking the brunt of the peacekeeping. Why don't more countries help and split up the load? It's for the greater good, after all. I mean USA helped you out in the past. And you are allies. So maybe it is your duty to help USA and not be cowards? To all the nations that invested a lower percentile of their forces in Iraq than USA and Britain, to nil. And citizens of those countries, you know who you are. Why do you think your government isn't getting involved?
  8. It takes cogs to make any machine work. You kill somebody with a knife, is it the knife that gets punished? And remember, the best defense is always a good offense.
  9. And if they weren't fighting on the front lines, Jews wouldn't have died. Proof. $$ They were the front lines of interment camp defense.
  10. The death of the Jews are on their hands. And had they refused to go if they stood up for what they believed in, they would have gotten the death penalty. Would it be fair to impose that choice on them?
  11. So whatever the government decides is right is right. Slavery, internment of Japanese, genocide and taking lands away from Native Americans, the government is never wrong. Especially in affairs on the rest of the world that the US government has no jurisdiction of and condemned by the rest of the world. Do your job and follow. You are part of that system. Otherwise, you're wrong and therefore take punishment the governement gives you for it.
  12. So I paid roughly $725. As opposed to $625 On the M&P, night sight addition is $100 more. I chose to buy mines already done from S&W, rather than wait and have a gun smith to do it for about the same price. The radioactive glow of the Tritium will last 10-12 years before it needs to be replaced.
  13. http://www.cnn.com/2007/HEALTH/02/08/men.s...reut/index.html Okay, confirm or deny all you want, it's been confirmed
  14. Precision is always necessary. You shoot only to hit the intruder. Do you want the round to fly towards the wrong place and have the chance of going through the wall and hitting some innocent bystander?
  15. The dots on pistol sights that glow in the dark so you can see the dots and align the sites properly in the dark.
  16. I really have no expertise in handguns. Strictly an anti personel weapon as I understand it. So does your local target range provide for night shooting practice? If you have occasion to use a sight are you really engaged in self "defense"? It seems to me your setup might be good assassinating intruders before they know what is happening to them. Or perhaps for murders. Not something that appeals to me. Most violence happens at night, in the dark. Without the nightsights, the handgun would be next to useless in the dark. pwnt
  17. For self defense, I plan to use CorBon's PowRBall. Expanding full metal jacket (notice the ball on the tip of the bullet? that ball covers a hole in the bullet and actually helps the hole expand) It had the reliable feeding and penetration capability as FMJ plus the expanding capablity of hollowpoints. AND they're legal in places regular hollowpoints are not.
  18. Will he be convicted and get life? Or a few years on parole?
  19. http://www.cnn.com/2007/LAW/02/05/boys.found/index.html From CNN front page. Thoughts? How long do you think he'll get in jail?
  20. The stats were all in this book- http://www.armedresponsebook.com/ Though it wouldn't be too hard to get them and similar things from a search engine. http://www.armedresponse.org/
  21. Well Lady, you can always go to a local range and rent a gun and try it. Give it a try and you may like it, finding a new hobby like target shooting. www.nra.com
  22. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_Sweden Really? Now...jealous because you can't own one? I feel for you.
