I was using Neeshka to pickpocket the weaponsmith in the docks. Just to try it out and see what happens. Wasn't overly exciting as she was grabbing around 20 to 30 gold a pop. Then about my 10th success she pilfered the Gladiators sword. (A +2 longsword with d6 acid damage). I have tried a few dozen times more at both the weaponsmith and armorsmith in the docks with nothing more then a few dozen gold since. Either this was a very rare event or I am not sure what else to make of it. Has anyone else had success using rogue skills as such?

See here: http://www.nwn2worlds.net/Home/tabid/36/ar...-expansion.aspx Interesting to say the least...

The problem with that is the shooter only aspect aside, they are not even sticking close to source material. From past interviews (Which has riled SR fans) they are going to take extensive liberties with the races, weapons and game mechanics. To the point the lead dev now says this game is 'inspired by the shadowrun game' rather then 'based on'. If thats not scary not sure what else is.

A project plan for building a persistent world

Do you people have anything better to do then find something to b*tch about? gezz. I took a idea and modified it for a little humor. First anyone who has been a s/w dev or the tech field in the past 30yrs knows about the tree joke (when said tree joke first surfaced) I really don't think it has anything to fear from my modification. Plus hard to give credit to anyone when a. whomever did the tree joke has been AFAIK lost to the annals of time and b. I have only saw said joke in a paper format. didn't even know there was a scanned image anywhere. Some of you need to relax and just laugh for the sake of laughing rather then dissect everything. *chuckle* -

hehe, glad you liked it! As a former PW admin I have to say while I made it for humor it, sadly, rings more true then not. -

Yes I saw that a while back and though it would be entertaining to modify it to something closer to home. gezz do you always have to take the joy out of something with your snide comments? You are such a stick in the mud. -

I see, thanks to everyone for the input and help! I'll see what I can dig up for a work around on the RSS plugins forum.

I am trying to syndicate the nwn2 blog on my site here: http://www.nwn2worlds.net/RSSNews/tabid/71/Default.aspx As you can see there is some coding error as you can see the HTML in the feed. FYI Anything I can do to help you correct/test it let me know

I just picked up this game the other day... will let you know my impressions when I have enough time to play. I can tell this is one of the few games I HAVE to read the manual... Trying to dive right in is futile from my attempts... heh

CE <> insane by default as you seem to imply. FYI

What does 'force attacking' anyone has to do with being evil minded? Killing everything in sight is a sign of insanity, no evil intent.

Really hope that was a freebie. Not sure if you are referring to DNN or my copy of SBS 2003 but in either case the answer is yes. DNN is open source and SBS 2003 was a gift per se.

Ok most content/pages are built. Please check out the community database as I hope that will be a big part of the site. I am still looking around for a theme that seems agreeable. Otherwise let me know what you think

1. Well I suppose there is going to be some overlap to the degree as we both are going to try to help players, DMs and servers get together. But we are less on being a scheduling site and more on providing organized information for people to reach out to the resources themselves. I hope people will want to use our events calendar to alert people to a mp game they are hosting or pw event or such and thats cool, but I suspect the DM, player and server database will be the main use for the site on this level. 2. Yea I am still working on finding a theme that im completely happy with too... The search continues... 3. once I finish my visual basic .net course I can write my own modules for one, plus the support is much better then the last couple PHP packages I used. For example with myphpnuke that I used a long time ago support/updates just fizzed out. With xoops they stopped supporting any base modules and in essence 'contracted' all the modules to various 3rd parties. So when they did the code fork and reversed paths going from 2.0.x to 2.2.x then back to 2.0.x ti screwed us that were on the 2.2.x path and modules. As 'downgrading' made, at least for me, half the modules break. with DNN all the basic modules (forum, news, gallery, wiki, etc) are developed by the core team along with the base s/w. Thus no type of conflicts what happened with xoops will take place. DNN is a MS pet project so I don't expect any of this above to happen any time soon. Also it limits the amount of admin work I have to put into the site. With a PHP based site I have to maintain PHP, MySQL and Apache on top of the win2003 server. With DNN its all MS required software, I need nothing else then whats included in my small business server 2003 box. Having the site all on one platform is just less headaches when it comes to updates, bugs and the like.

I changed the theme to a winter/silver look with torn parchment for the blocks to see what the feedback was of that. do you guys like the silver/clean look better or the more dark look? Also I am working on 2 pages that members can in one add themselves with their dm/player profile or/and a pw server profile. This way people looking for a specific kind of DM or server can by browsing the entries. Like a dating site profile but looking for like minded players/MP games rather then b00tie! Do you have any input on the kind of questions that should be filled out in the questionnaire? For DM/Player records obviously asking if they are a DM or not, and describe their preferred play style. Anything else? For server records the server name, web site, admin email for questions, description of the world setting, and is it RP enforced. Anything else be helpful to ask? thanks guys for all the input!

As you may have heard I took nwn2news down as there is less need for a general news site IMO plus the s/w that was running nwn2news was not aging well. So I have decided to reinvent the site as NWN 2 Worlds. A NWN 2 MP and PW focused site. I have got the framework up, while I am still adding and fleshing out sections I'd like to get feedback from the community here of the progress so far. http://www.nwn2worlds.net Specifically I'd like to know what you think of the theme we are using. Also any other ideas you have for the various areas (or lack of). All input appreciated. Please note you can register (non-verified now, however email verification will be enabled once we go public) if you want and post in the forum your feedback if you'd like. Thanks for your time!

Some valid comments, let me explain. My issues with the barbarian using chain mail and magic weapons is two fold. I feel removing those limitations from the 1E version took away some of the role playing elements of the class, as well as the natural disposition of the class. Who thinks of typical savage barbarian in full chain? Hide armor or leather or perhaps a chain shirt sure. But anything more just does not seem, in my mind, a image of your living off the land barbarian. You have a valid point about Khelgar. Even though he is a warrior class he is a very trumped up warrior class high on offense abilities. I should have used a better example in hindsight. That aside, I still have to say I feel the barbarian has watered down to a point where it is more a PrC then a class in of itself.

"well researched"? This is D&D not a thesis on quantum physics. Just saying. I think ones own playing experience with PnP and the computer version is enough to voice ones opinion on the matter, but perhaps thats just me. As for Kelgar, hes a fighter class, I am a barbarian. In theory tow to toe I SHOULD be more a offensive warrior vs. him who should be more well rounded. That was the point in the comparison.

Strauss takes a look at the evolution, and nerfing, of the barbarian class an cries "What would Conan do?". Here is a snip: Now from my understanding Gygax had planned on editing (and thus fixing several of the over powered classes in Unearth Arcana) and incorporating UA in the 2nd edition ruleset. Before work started however, is when he was ousted at TSR and the new team that came in decided there was too many issues with UA and scrapped in completely. Barbarians made a comeback as a
