  1. That country is so going to the dogs
  2. The orthodox church never emphasizes hell, punishment, eternal damnation etc. You can see the script writer was from a catholic or protestant tradition.
  3. NX release date has been indirectly confirmed to be the March 4 2017, due to some Zelda merchandise shipping date leak. Its going to be a curiously short marketing campaign for Nintendo, already clocking in at under 6 months.
  4. I tried replaying Bioshock recently but I just couldn't get into it again. For me it was a one off experience, the second time around all I could see were the flaws.
  5. He actually does if you don't climb up fast enough, and if you waste more than a few seconds on the tower he'll jump up, deal a bunch of damage and likely knock you down for even more. Guess I got lucky, even when I mistimed the jump, every time just as he was to land on the tower I was already on my way down. Killed the Boar. It has a silly habit of getting bored and walking away, proudly exposing its only unarmored orifice. Oh well, all in a day's work.
  6. Taurus demon flopped to cheese, he never attacks while you're on a ladder climbing to battlements so its possible to just jump on his head and stab 'im dead. Then I got burned by a dragon.
  7. So it doesn't start piling on your right away. Ok. I'm feeling the pain with the first knight in the tunnel. He has really fast recovery.
  8. Try googling the difficulty settings, seeing as how you beat it at very hard its quite possible that you played at or even above the default level of the PS2 version.
  9. so true that's exactly the point in the game I stopped playing, I got to the final boss of the second level, beat it after 8 or so attempts and that was enough for me I got to some worm boss (second one?) or something and said **** this I got places to be.
  10. The PS2 version was impossible on the default difficulty. Hell it was finger breaking on "easy" which just lowered enemy and boss hp by 10%. They toned it down significantly for the PC release. Its possibly the only game that I ever quit because the difficulty simply made it tiresome to play. Not having a habit of playing fighting games with a pad didn't help either.
  11. The PS2 version on very hard mode?
  12. Maybe Dark Souls difficulty is a tad overblown? I know I'm in the beginning area (Undead Burg) but so far its more a matter of paying attention as opposed to getting my face ground in the dust. I saved up and bought a repairbox. Seems useful. I don't know how to target with a crossbow so I'm having trouble dealing with bomb spamming skeletons. I mean, I wouldn't say its easy - but Devil May Cry 3 PS2 version would make you cry from the second level onward if you couldn't play like you had a neural link with the Dual Shock 2.
  13. Got it sorted out. Damn that was a chore. But now it all works and I'm being successfully raped by level 1 reassembling skeletons. I guess its a glorious moment for them so they're overcompensating as they never actually kill anything in any other game.
  14. Well, I'm in luck, sort of. The PS2 pad works perfectly with no setup required. And that could almost be considered a blessing because its impossible to change its binds - it simply doesn't react in the binds menu at all. But in game it works, with its default config. However there is one thing that's bizzare. Can anyone confirm that the right analog camera control uses a weird axis? Like, if I try pulling the stick straight up or down the camera shifts diagonally and in that direction, as if I was pressing a diagonal instead of a cardinal direction.
  15. I'm toying around finally playing Dark Souls: Prepare to Die. I was pissed at how ****ty the port was and how much work I have to put in to make it function (and still look like ass) because the developer couldn't be bothered to do it properly. If I make my Dual Shock 2 work in the game I might swallow my PC master race pride and get on with it.
  16. Nintendo knows that the only thing keeping it alive is the stranglehold it has on its more popular IP. The fact that the games are behind a fully controllable paywall (hardware and fixed prices) is their only advantage compared to Sony and Microsoft (when Zelda SS went to the bomba bin they pressured japanese stores into putting it back to the shelf, even though it wasn't selling). The iphone outing may seem to be at odds with this statement, but its basically a marketing campaign to stimulate sales of Nintendo hardware. They will never release their full games on other platforms unless the company is at death's door. Of course, anyone with a brain will just give them the middle finger and play everything on the PC - Dolphin, DSEmu and other emulators are better at Nintendo games than their own hardware.
  17. I don't know if Nintendoes knows what it wants, other than our money. The trouble is, they can apparently live off the fat **** of Pokemon, Mario and Zelda forever so they're not really stimulated to one up the competition. I mean the WiiU still costs around 300 euros even though it has maybe ten games worth playing (all of them first party, almost all of them sequels), while you can get the "stronger even though it released earlier" PS4 for the same money - and the Pro is going to be a relatively modest 100 euros more. And the PS4 is still building its large catalog. They want the thing to sell, but they don't want to make it a value proposition. On the other hand, the new 3DS, with its prehistoric hardware costs 170 euro - while my 200 euro Chinese smartphone gives comparable gaming performance and a vibrant full HD screen. And a better battery. What gives? The NX is really going to have to provide value to make early adoption worth it. If its really a 720p handheld with sub PS4 hardware (itself already dated) power as some rumors suggest I really don't know what to think anymore. Especially if they ask 200+ euros for it, as they're likely to.
  18. Hey, at least Tetris is getting a movie trilogy. I googled it and I still can't believe Tetris movie is a thing. Had to visit 5 websites before I was satisfied they weren't mirrors of the Onion.
  19. That was the point where the game went from merely very good to unforgettable. I miss the days when European designers tried to do their own thing instead of slavishly following popular US trends.
  20. Notice the size difference vs the little Mario puzzle I posted.
  21. Agree except for that girls stuff, me gusta
  22. What's so good about V
  23. This is why I always despised Elder Scrolls games. I was ready to **** a brick when they did that to Witcher 2 as well. And the original design was elegant enough to begin with. You have a hero, He has a sword. And another sword. You use them to kill monsters. Now piss off and get to it. What you found an axe? What are you, a lumberjack? Drop it! Drop it I said! And the meteor pieces were there like they were embarrassed about it. "See we can give you 15% to your unimportant number if you're really really into it" ... It worked so well.
  24. Imo the worlds in Gothic games were much better designed than any Elder Scrolls game but the rest of the game was usually much clunkier. I still firmly belive that the type of open world Baldur's Gate 2 had was better designed than any ES type open world game because its full of unique content and not copy paste generic content
  25. Nintendo is not showing up on the Tokyo Game show, the NX reveal is up in the air although the thing is still set for release on March 2017. Its either going to be a very short marketing campaign or release is going to be postponed.
