I've only cheated twice, both in Morrowind. And since it was to replace NPCs that mysteriously disappeared for no reason (bug) I didn't feel it was cheating.

As a side note, and just so we're clear: I don't care if people cheat. You can mod most games to make you as uber as you want. If adding cheats doesn't eat up developer resources, I could care less if they added them for those who chose to use them... so long as they don't eat up developer resources that could go into making the game spectacular.

And in case that reply somehow confuses you Nartwak, I've already explained why I don't want them to add cheats here. Just in case you missed it when prepping for your tirade

Except in d20 SW this isn't the case. The reason it resembles the whole "prestige" thing is because of story.

If you can enjoy the game without cheats.... then that statement doesn't really hold much water. And if you can't enjoy the game without cheats... then maybe it's not the kind of game you'd enjoy anyway.

I'd put my money on the soldier. The fight would start at range, and blaster deflection isn't a certainty. So the Soldier would likely have 2 shots before the jedi got up to him. And at first level... it only takes one to kill ya... well except for the weak blasters in KotOR.

So? A first level fighter can obliterate a kobold in Baldur's gate. A first level Vault Dweller can kill a rat. There will ALWAYS be fodder units in RPGs.

That really doesn't make sense. If your character is a jedi and the jedi are baseline (which seems to be the case for KotOR:TSL) how exactly is that overpowered?

I'd rather they focus their "creative" energy on making one really good game, rather than an average one with some cheats

Well said. That was my biggest problem with KotOR. That any anything you did in game effected nothing or anything at all. Thanks, that makes atleast 2 people who see things my way. Hey, I said I kinda agreed.
