  1. Nevertheless Gorth, I respect your opinion. Here is some new info: The characters are hi-poly, hi-res textures complete with normal mapping and specular lighting. There are 77 different possible battle scenarios, each character having at least three variations. Each of these battles has 3 animated camera variations. All these combinations cut down on the repeats. The three environments are completely different (Throne Room, Dungeon and Garden) and support advanced lighting and texture modes. We have 7 modes of gameplay, in single player (all can be done with traditional chess pieces or animated characters): Versus AI Training Mode Challenge Mode Combat Vault Versus AI mode is your stand player versus the computer. We have completely replaced the original Chess AI and have six distinct levels of difficulty. The highest level plays at an estimated 2300 ELO. Training mode allows the player to place pieces on the board in any configuration they like and then play against any level of AI. Challenge mode, in which we have pre-constructed nine different scenarios of varying degree of difficulty and then challenge the player to solve the scenario within a specific numbers of moves. For example,
  2. Not even a dollar? Really that is all I actually came here expecting, that you guys give dollars, but the way I look at it, the original is the original, you can't beat the original. MW3 sucks compared to MW. But as there is an exeption to every rule, Half Life 2 is that exeption, maybe this game will be an exeption too, maybe not.
  3. Well, I'll say, those, some of them at least, I believe are in some Vault program where you can veiw battle scenes, I'm sure that if you guys post your requests on their Kickstarter comments page and or on YouTube they will take it in to recomendation. Also, if you guys give just a dollar or two it will be helpful as well. Other programs are, video tutorials to help you learn chess, the aforementioned vault thing, and achievements. If the funding is reached, online multiplayer will allow for additional achievements and sharing content. For those who are fans of the original Battle Chess and wish to see something more similar to that, with more close characters, more similar stadiums, or those who liked Battle Chess 4000, in DLC's they will be adding content that will likely make the stuff you want shorter (your criticisms) and content that will make the game better.
  4. http://www.youtube.com/user/SubduedSoftware They have a YouTube now where they are going to be posting more gameplay videos. And Gorth, it may have said EA on the box as Battle Chess may have been one of the three games that Interplay made for EA that they had dual ownership over, such as the Bard's Tale, though I believe that while Interplay gave up the rights to that around 2004, when the InXile one was made, EA quickly gave up the rights to the ones for Battle Chess, likely. It is owned by Interplay.
  5. So, Interplay was in a lawsuit with TopWare for Battle vs. Chess, Interplay won and came into contact with their old president (AKA. Not Brian Fargo) and asked his new team, Subdued Software, to make Battle Chess 2011. 2011 was not being funded by Interplay but rather the passionate guys at Subdued who wanted to make it for PC, Mac, iOS and Xbox 360. Guess what, they succeeded, ONLY FOR PC, though. And that too without multiplayer. So the 100,000 funding is for leaderboards, multiplayer and all of that kind of stuff that you have on Battlefield 3. There will be DLC in addition if multiplayer hits and this means classic characters, more stadiums and all kinds of stuff like that. Rewards include the game (I don't know), a t-shirt, invitiation to the launch party at some Buena place, name in the credits. Also, they are looking more for into the 1000 dollar funding, if you fund 1000 right now you get your name in the credits and you get to go the launch party, only one person has joined, but they are aiming to make it so that if you pay 1000 dollars you get a free chess set with the battle chess characters, though they are lookin to as to how to do that. To see gameplay videos of it: http://www.youtube.com/user/SubduedSoftware Game Features Fully articulated 3D models Revamped chess engine designed to challenge players of all levels Online multiplayer with ranking system Choose from three unique battlegrounds Over 75 unique battle sequences viewable in cinematic 3D or in classic mode Original musical score and professional voice talent Video chess tutorials 7 new game modes, including a challenge mode - can you solve these perplexing problems? Achievements Although $100k seems like a large amount, implementing a full featured online experience, like the one we have planned, will take several months. A list of features include; Skilled Based Matchmaking, Statistics, Leaderboards, Achievements and in-game chat. We also needed to factor in the cost of fulfilling rewards and running this campaign. We have carefully planned out the costs of staffing the programmers, artists and testers necessary to complete online multiplayer feature and arrived at this amount." - Subdued Software It has been on Kickstarter for about 8 days now and has only achieved 9 % of its funding. I suggest that you guys help fund it and help get it released.
  6. Its official, and you ride horses as well. Win. You can alter the story. Win. Cold War Past. Win. Cold War Future. Fail. David S. Goyer. Win. No Batman. Fail. I.W 3.0. Fail.
  7. Yes! Now that Prototype 2 is out. The Rock has announced his intentions to win the WWE Championship again. Baldur's Gate 3 may see the light of day. I think tis time to think, what's next? Prototype 1 was good, it was not stellar it was good. Prototype 2 I love, it is amazing. But one thing, after the ending, it gets me thinking, whats next? So for those of you who have not gotten to the ending, I'm not going to spoil it, but I am going to say, we all know that Alex was a viru right, what if Heller was just a contingency plan?
  8. Ah, I get you. I'll try and find the acoustic version to post that.
  9. Indeed? I would say the term 'indie' is a bad term precisely because everybody has a different definition of what it means. I don't really agree with your definition. Which supports my reasoning. Hah! Oh rubbish. Have you BEEN outside? It's hard for me to get around Canberra without stubbing my toe on a high-quality live musician (highly doubt Melbourne or Sydney are any different). And most of the time they are an engineer or chemist or economics or law student or something, or a public servant, or whatever - the point is you wouldn't expect them to beat out the awesome tunes they do. But they're good either way. Maybe it's a generational thing, but yeah as somebody who doesn't practice an instrument I'm leaning towards being the odd one out among my various peer groups. Hmm. Maybe you meant it's rare to find actual musicians in music these days. But again, I would point to the Triple J Hottest 100 of any recent year as evidence against such a claim. Sure, there's plenty of synth, but there's plenty that isn't. And hey, at least it's not rap, right? YAY! and don't dis rap! Its awesome... unless its Jay-Z. An acoustic version? I'll have to check that out.
  10. No matter what you say Gorth, Walsingham. The screams all sound the same. Orogun, if you agree with them, as in Gorth and Walsingham, is it music? No, no, no, I'm joking you. But, come on, the song is pretty good, loophole in your post Orogun, you have a thread devoted to music, not a thread devoted to songs, or a thread devoted to a band, or a thread devoted to a song. Music in its entirity can encompass a lot of things, or one thing.
  11. Has anybdoy heard this new band? I know some of you guys undoubtedly have, considering that their song Little Talks has over two millions views or about that. I heard Little Talks and was almost instantaneously inspired to make a montage of sorts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgy3adx_DGc&feature=plcp&context=C47371e3VDvjVQa1PpcFOd59pPaesWKZirJ0BD2zArKFpvEmHL0LA= I heard Dirty Paws, I was not that inspired by it though, it was okay. But what are your guys thoughts on the band? Whats your favorite song by them?
  12. Oh, don't worry, I actually would not buy them either; like I said, my producer is making me do this. I would personally fund Baldur's Gate 3, Dark Alliance 3, a new Crash bandicoot and a new Spelljammer.
  13. Thank you critics: Race to the Underworld: This is a game that has been at the back of my head for so long. Basically you play as a Black Ops operative in FPS and at certain points TPS, though that is optional for racing modes in the game. Basically this would be an hour long game with about three missions of FPS and three of racing. Okay, so the racing aspects of this game play out like Gran Turismo in first person mode, but like Crash Nitro Kart when you go into Third Person. This is to add a more diverse feeling to the game and so that you do not get bored. Another thing is that we are planning on adding many different ways to beat the bossses as well as AI that is like in the WWE video games. This is mostly to get people to feel that despite the game being forward, they can do a lot of different things to get to that one ending. FPS plays out like Black Ops. No online. The City: You are a resident of an underwater city in the Norwegian (or is it Swedish or Finnish) White Sea. You end up being pushed into the center of resistance when a revolution called Scorpion Rising occurs. Takes many cues from Viking Mythology and Martian Myths. This game is a full FPS, however, we do not borrow the aspects from Black Ops but rather from Doom 2. This is because unlike Race to the Underworld we are going for a more straightforward appraoch if this one is made, and to do so we are not going to make the players feel like they can only do what the devs want, but instead try and break free from the devs hold because it is open world and unlike Race to the Underworld you can achieve various endings, but its not a full RPG. Victorious (thats just the codename): When the Fon Necromancer and his subordinates, The Troll and General Kush, threaten to send your nation to war, you discover a string of conspiracy theories and that the war is only to distract the world from the true, vile plan. I work on the story of this story regularily, in a novel format, though the way I am writing it, it can easily be adapted to a video game. I would find this game to be a RPG and that it could be a fun three hour experience. So being a RPG, some people can expect Fallout or Skyrim. We are going for the classic Dark Alliance Snowblind approach here with hints and clues from Icewind Dale II. This is because we want to push the isometric hack and slash to a new level. So while you guys could say its a remake of Dark Alliance, in reality we are just trying to make a game that you can have fun playing, but you get the choice to either cut down everything or go strategically. If anything we are also taking good hints from 4e D&D. Nihang or Khattaki Rebellion: A platformer, you play as Akali Phula Singh and help quell the Khattaki Rebellion happening in Attock, culminating in a takeover of Peshawer from the deadly and dangerous Durrani Empire. Based off of real events. Guys this is just a 2D Sonic clone and I seriously say that nobody should fund this since I could probably finish it overnight [my producer wanted me to put it here]. As for experience, I do have some: * I have gotten to know a lot about the industry from SuperBot Entertainment and Subdued Software, both of whom I can get a lot of information from abhout the procedures of how this stuff all works and whatnot. * I have currently finished writing the story of a PC Sudoku styled RPG (Don't ask me how it works). * I have also given advice to Wolf Games about Cheetah, 3DS Max and Blender modelling.
  14. Okay, so my partner and I have been thinking of making a project unded via Kickstarter, but before we do so we would need support from the people. Race to the Underworld: This is a game that has been at the back of my head for so long. Basically this would be an hour long game with about three missions of FPS and three of racing. 15. Hey suggestion, keep it low for now and do what InXile Entertainment is doing, steadily increase it as things go. Also, did you check if Tortured Hearts is copyrighted, it sounds like it could be. My suggestion would be to you go DOTA. Not everybody is doing it and it is a good idea for you to consider for the gameplay, honestly Turn-Based, to get it right at least, is going to cost you a lot of money. Real-Time people are going to think your cheap. Real-time based DOTA genre, your going to hit the jackpot there, plus, if this game comes out before Dota 2, you'll be in luck, people will have something to enjoy before the treasure comes.
  16. Like Bitch for Indira Gandhi? I went around my whole childhood assuming that was her real name. Yeah, the reason that they stayed the sentance was becaus Badal, the current CM of Punjab, decided to finally do something good for the Sikh Nation. No actually what happened was he decided to petition for the clemency of Balwant Singh and I believe that he threatened the court that if Balwant Singh was dead, his death would trigger a chain reaction of some sort that would radically lead to the rise of militancy in Punjab again and extremism overseas. Something I personally believe would happen. Beant Singh was a murderer, but like any other human being he deserved a trial, but since his death stopped the deaths of thousands - I'm okay with it. I am not okay with Khalistan, though.
  17. Ah yes, I forgot about BioShock: Here's how you make it good though and it has to be either horror, slasher or thriller because happy-go-lucky Disney Persia is not going to work - The guy wakes up in a crash in a city, he doesn't find out its underwater, but as he goes through, he starts to learn strange things and is forced to kill a rich billionaire he recognized from some tv ad or bull**** like that and is confronted by that main bad guy at the end who reveals everything. Though like Pokemon this would have to be done really well because it would only go one of two ways. A Prince of Persia Remake: Start over again, a new concept of the Sands of Time. Instead, the Prince is an arrogant pauper who ends up wooing the princess in guise of a wealthy prince. This ends up getting him bound up in a plot to overthrow the king and him in the center of it.
  18. Number One: Virtua Fighter - I honestly cannot think of a game that could have a better movie than this game. The story fits in perfectly and seems realistic as well: 24 year old Jackie Bryant is an up and coming aspiring NASCAR racer when his sponsers begin to get assassinated, he is put under police custody and is then informed that his sister Sarah has been kidnapped. Jackie is then informed of a fighting tournament, some Japanese word probably, and approahced by a very Mr. Smith type man to enter, who then tells him that the tournament and his sister have relations, as his sister was a fighter who trained with the tournament's sponser. Jackie refuses. Thats the first half hour. Next fifteen minutes details the life of Kage Maru, a ninja who is joining the tournament to get money to try and fund a cure for cancer. The fifteen minutes after that it shows the lives of the other participants. Jackie then recieves a phone call from his sister and he decides to take the Mr. Smith man's offer more seriously. The actual fighting should happen within the fourty minutes, the twenty minute gap should probably show the meeting of Kage and Jackie as well as their relations with the other fighters. Number Two: Pokemon - To be honest with you, this movie can really only go two ways, really good or really ****ty. First you've got to introduce people to Pokemon and explain why there are dog animals but no such thing as dogs, then you can get to one ten year old kid who never needs to poo or sleep travelling through the world of Jhoto or whatever it is now fighting Team Rocket. Or you can get a teenager who rides a bike and is looking to prove himself dominant while all the same time shedding his arrogant attitude. Number Three: Call of Duty - Of course it can't follow an y of the game's story and has to be a film about war. These films could actually work out really well if done properly and Activision can get what they want - money. Number Four: PROTOTYPE - An amnesic wakes up in a morgue and walks outside only to be attacked by gruesome mutants. He slowly discovers he has powers and has to decide whose side he's on, the mutants, the government or his own side.
  19. I get all that from your OP. So Indira kills Bhindranwale, Beant Singh and Satwant kill Indira, Rajiv Ghandi kills a bunch of Sikhs and Rajaratnam suicide bombs him. So what the hell did Rajoana did again? * I will refer to Indira as Bitch. Incorrect, Bitch wants to put the Akali's under her fist so she sends Bhindranwale, an unknowledgable Sikh, to take them over for her as they refuse to accept her demands. Bhindranwale goes and becomes educated in the Sikh ways and discovers that Bitch's plan is wrong and so he turns against her. So Bitch kills Bhindranwale which results in the massacre of thousands of Sikhs, she gets assassinated, Sikhs are massacered again but labelled terrorists at this point Beant Singh the Butcher comes in. The Butcher kills his competitors and becomes CM in Punjab at a time when militancy is rising [babbar Khalsa] and all. Rajiv Gandhi becomes PM and kills a bunch of Sikhs and Rajaratnam kills him and Sikhs are wrongly massacered, small scale not many articles you will find. The Butcher begins to kill more and more alleged terrorists and immediatley cremating their bodies, death tolls reach over a thousand, just so he can stay in his office. Balwant Singh, a police constable, decides to move against this murderer and his friend kills The Butcher. Balwant Singh is sentanced to jail longer than any Hindu has ever been sentaned to [other than a life sentance] in India. Kishori Lal the Butcher of Trilokpuri a Hindu is released from prison, pardoned from all crimes, and two weeks following Balwant Singh's hanging is announced. Balwant Singh - The Living Shaheed (Martyr): The highest title awarded by Akal Takht (the holy court of the Sikhs, right in front of the Golden Temple).
  20. I'm not kidding, I know that he's a guy condemned to hang but I don't know the specifics of the crime. There is remarkably little info on that aspect. Okay, do you want me to tell you? I know about the murder but I can't find any detailed description of the events or the motive, from what I gathered here it has something to do with religion. It was an attack on religion by Indira Gandhi after she destroyed Akal Takht and the Golden Temple. Thus the pawn of her son Rajiv Gandhi Beant Singh infamous butchered many thousand Sikhs and became known as the Butcher of Punjab and so Balwant Singh's friend and presumably he made a conspiracy where the friend killed Beant Singh, the plan worked and Beant died and Balwant was arrested.
  21. I'm not kidding, I know that he's a guy condemned to hang but I don't know the specifics of the crime. There is remarkably little info on that aspect. Okay, do you want me to tell you?
  22. Hey guys, Overhaul Games are the guys behind MDK2 HD which put Beamdog on the map and was Interplay's only recent success. In its making they took in consideration of requests from fan's and intergrated new ideas, so since BG is very big, I suggest that you guys and I give requests.
  23. In response to Krezack: Rajoana did not murder anybody, he was the friend of the man that did kill eant Singh and in an attempt to preserve his friend's good name he claimed responsibility as the mastermind behind the conspiracy. To Walsingham: There are weapons in every Sikh Temples, yes I'll agree its not firepower, but the point stands still. Bhindranwale and his followers did not fire a single shot, Gandhi claimed they had rocket launchers and all but they did not fire a single shot, Canadian radios and London papers can prove that. To Orogun01: I know I have said stupid **** on these forums, but please don't do that, this is actually close to my heart and it brings me pain and rage when somebody speaks in favour of Gandhi [i'm not saying you are by the way], so please do not comment on this if you cant give a good one.
  24. What is right? What is wrong? Where has India blurred the line that differentiates religion and politics? This is damn right off topic, now lets cut the locks shall we? http://www.rediff.co...ct/20120324.htm Before you people start thinking that this is a secluded case, its not. This is happening in Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto, Oregon, California and several other places in the US, Canada and the UK. Even in Punjab. I do not know if there are any Sikh people on this forum, but to all of all faiths [Atheism can count as a religion you know - cue weird ass girl laughter right there at that very second] listen to this. What if Vatican City was destroyed by Muslims, what Christians in America do? What if Mecca was destroyed by Buddhists, what would Sunnis in Iran do? What would Sunnis in Bulgaria do. Think about that last one very carefully. On a scale, there are as manny Islamis in Bulgaria as there are Sikhs in India. Sikhs are the majority of the Indo-Canadian Population in Canada, accounting for 33 % of that slate. In India, Operation Bluestar, the "great and wise" Indira Gandhi launched a fullscale military operation against Sri Harmandir Sahib, known to you Americanos as the Golden Temple, and utterly destroyed it and completely destroyed the Akal Takht. Peaceful protests happened in Canada. Sikhs were killed and murdered in India. After Indira the Bitch Gandhi was killed, who wants to know what happened? The Genocide: Anti-Sikh Pogroms and Riots. Before you read on, understand that Jarnail Singh did not fire any shots, he had weapons, yes, but weapons are sacred to the Sikh fiath in the way that they can be used to stop prejudice. In this case, they were used as the excuse to raid the temple. Singh was found with over 70 machine gun shots in his broken and tattered body following Operation Bluestar. He had rocket launchers and machine guns, but if he used them, the Akal Takht would not have been destroyed, as it was blown up by cannon balls, something that Singh did not have. and India honours Indira Gandhi! When a Sikh goes to India and sees that Delhi's Airport is the Indira Gandhi Airport, do you want to know my first thought. "Why doesn't Germany just rename the Berlin Airport the Nazi-Hitler Airport or some **** like that!" Following, I agree, many angered Sikhs resorted to militancy, extremism and they committed many horrible acts as well. But think, what would happen if in the middle of world war 2 in 1943, all Jews were given rocket launchers and machine guns, assault rifles and bombs? So then comes along Beant Singh and becomes CM of Punjab. In order to keep his position, he gets all of his competitors killed. In order to make sure that India lets him keep his position, he kills thousands of innocent Sikhs. So then comes along a Sikh who kills Beant Singh, his friend Balwant Singh Rajoana gets arrested and is imprisoned for 17 years. One month ago, Kohldi Lal [ or something like that ] a man who had decapitated four innocent Sikhs was announced a complete pardon of his crimes, then now Balwant Singh has been announced on the death trial. He asked for no appeal, no chance to prove he's innocent, and laughed death in the face and said that when he's dead, all his organs get donated to those who need it. You tell me, who's right, who's wrong and where did India blur the line. I am not a Khalistani, but even I know that the criminals of Rwanda are being punished. I will later have full details on my blog: cutlock.blogspot.com To finish I quote Richard Nixon: "Indira Gandhi is a bitch and an old witch."
