Well, don't trust Gearbox. Basically 15 years in development that Gearbox ruined and made it a 45 % average for the Xbox 360. What if Obsidian made Duke Nukem: Forever. How would things be different? You tell me. Ill list my thoughts later.
-
There are different kinds of games using the UE3. Fallout 3 and NV are Post-Apocalyptic RPG's set in the Fallout world.
-
le sigh let me guess. style = 2D isometric graphics, gameplay = turn-based combat? I really did not see New Vegas incorporate that. They did however bring back perks, traits that were thought long lost. I'll give you that. The game, however, is Morrowindized. Engine: A lot of engines. Why don't we use one? Different companies you see: Activision: ID Tech, IW, Titanium EA: Too many to count Bethesda: ID Tech, Gamebryo, Creation THQ: ... don't ask ... please Ubisoft: Tintin? Rayman? Call of Juarez? WWE! Now you tell me which is better? I was just saying that 3 and NV use the same engine and there is not a lot of differences.
-
So wait, you like Fallout: New Vegas and not Fallout 3? Whats the main difference other than story, creatures, location, iron sights and bugs? Its the same engine. Remember, the game is digital download. Only part of Interplay's team is making it. Masthead Studios is making it. Masthead is about the same size as Obsidian. Even their first original IP was considered a bomb by some and a success by some. Its just their Bulgarian.
-
Well actually, Interplay just released the thing in court or whatever that prooves that they do have funding for Pv13. Also, its most of Masthead's team that is working on the game. Interplay's team is working on: Earthworm Jim 4 (This should be out at the end of the year or next year) Legendary Wars: T-Rex Rumble (This is coming out in summer for the iPhone, DSi is already out) they are also selling Earthworm Jim t-shirts at Hot Topic, so some revenue there. Masthead has experience with MMO's. They have released Earthrise V2.0 from what I hear is much better than their first version. So what they did wrong with Earthrise, they will do right with Fallout Online.
-
Well, that is the closest your going to get to Shiny. Well, Interplay did hire some of Double Helix's fired off employees. It doesn't surprise me that their list of games doesn't surprise you. From what I get, your the kind of person who expects a recovering company to release blockbuster games in the first three years of their return.
-
Shiny became Double Helix Games. Doug TeNapal, I think he worked for Shiny (I don't know), is the lead on the project. The games on that list are selling quite well. MDK HD got number 1 spot on WiiWare. Legendary Wars and Prehistorik Man got got top 10 spots on the DSiWare. Pinball Yeah! sold quite well on the iPhone, although due to the mass of iPhone games, you cant really count it as a success. Tommy Tronic, Death and the Fly and Homesteader were moderate successes. Plus, Fallout Online will see the light of the day. The forum I listed proves just about that.
-
DSIII its similar I know, but its just not the same and does not give me the ending. Plus, I think Ehb sounds really, really weird and non-original (Dark Alliance was non-original in an original way). Abdel Adrian was buried under the ire, but in FR Canon, that's the canon and I used that name only to show that the two series were connected by only a thread. Games made by Interplay since Black Isle's Dissolution: 2012: Fallout Online 2011: Earthworm Jim 4 ClayFighter: Call of Putty Legendary Wars: T-Rex Rumble Stonekeep WiiWare Descent WiiWare Battle Chess 2011 MDK2 HD Prehistorik Man Death and the Fly Homesteader 2010: Pinball Yeah! Tommy Tronic Wii Online got hacked! Watch out CoD, your precious 360 is next.
-
Yes there is. You really cant appreciate anything made by Interplay can you? You probably do not even like any of their games except Fallout and that's only because of it going to Bethesda. ...go Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 3... weak wooh in response.
-
How I wish Titus was Activision. Fallout Online. A lot of Masthead's staff is working on this game and not all of Interplay's staff is. As Interplay's staff is working on: Descent Battle Chess Earthworm Jim 4 ClayFighter: Call of Putty This means Interplay is able to make Dark Alliance in their spare time.
-
That clears up a lot. I'm not very good with acronyms of fansites. Plus, new news! Interplay is not dead but in fact coming out of a coma and making progress. Just read this, Interplay now owes from about 1.5 Mil - 2.5 mil way less compared to that giant number they owed and Interplay has a lot of games coming out which are helping this cause. This also means that Interplay is not dying, its the opposite. http://www.interplay.com/forums/viewtopic....f=7&t=18241

The Original 4E LFR's are considered canon. They prove Baldur's Gate to be canon. Whats NMA?
-
Or maybe Interplay would merge with Iceberg Interactive or directly with Masthead themselves. Or maybe they will merge or sell their assets with other companies. Plus, those other developers that are not in a financial crisis are likely going to buy the assets of Interplay that Interplay is not currently using.
-
I'm not telling the PC Fanboys to get off. I'm saying, don't compare Dark Alliance to Baldur's Gate. They were just two series in one franchise which is under a greater franchise. Plus, don't compare anything that Blizzard makes to anything Interplay makes: EVER. That is just plain wrong! And Purkake, what is that supposed to mean? and as of today, Interplay is dead. Haven't seen the news, they have financial woes because of Bethesda. The last time a game of theirs sold out was on the WiiWare from MDK2 which is digital and did top the charts. So they need to release their WiiWare and DSiWare games at the same time and make 3DS Store Games. This means that they might not be able to make Fallout: Online. But, Interplay has stated that they are interested in merging with another company. This brings me hope for Fallout: Online and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance III. How? Maybe Interplay will merge into Atari? Maybe they will merge into one of Atari's partners: Possible Mergers: Atari - With this merger, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is virtually going to happen. Plus, Fallout: Online will seem more likely especially because they'll be backed by a lot of funding and money from The Witcher 2 sales (which I think might be able to beat out a lot of Interplay's debt with only part of its assets). Bethesda - If you cant beat them, join them. Though after the lawsuit, NOOOO WAAAAY! Activision Blizzard - They would buy Interplay and with only a small part of their CoD Sales they could wipe out Interplay's debt. Square Enix - I mean, Squaresoft can make good games with Interplay's assets. Right? Sony - Maybe FOOL will be a Playstation Exlcusive? I mean MMO's do work good on the PS3 and this way a lot of copies can get sold. Microsoft - Same as above. Ubisoft - Who says Interplay cant develop Driver. I do. But I do say that Interplay can make games for Ubisoft who can easily pay them off. EA - Interplay and BioWare back together again. Its a dream. EA could easily pay off Interplay's debt but they are cheap and after the Take-2 thing, they would never. Take-2 - Who says hostile takeovers ruin your reputation. I do. Although, Interplay could make a RPG for this sporting company.

First off, you BG Fanboys should know that BioWare's Baldur's Gate was over. It was done. Tell me, what are the connections between the GTA series? Nothing really. The Baldur's Gate series was supposed to be divided into three series: Bhaalspawn Saga Series (DONE!), Black Hound Series (Waaah!) and the Dark Alliance Series (INCOMPLETE). I'm guessing you guys can get off this thread because the only reason Dark Alliance is Baldur's Gate is because of the name. It is an awesome game with awesome gameplay and graphics, suck it up princesses, we don't care if it has no connection to Abdel Adrian (which it does). Plus, almost 150 Signatures and some guy opened up a Twitter Thing based on what I was doing? //twitter.com/OpenBaldursGate I don't know, Twitter is not my thing. Or Facebook. Plus, this is not a TBH Thread. Dark Alliance is in Forgotten Realms canon.
-
First off: Bump. Second Off: With Daggerdale a sucky as hell game. Atari needs this.

So... Baldur's Gate - Best CRPG of our time is not respectable? Neverwinter Nights - A CRPG that started some things for Obsidian, not respectable? Knights of the Old Republic - Another CRPG that started some things for Obsidian, not respectable? Come on man. Jade Empire - Okay, I get these being unrespectable Sonic Chro - SHUT THE HELL UP SELF! myself OK myself Dragon Age - You would be a fool to call this unrespectable Mass Effect - I will kick you in the gut if you call any game in this series unrespectable. Awards: * Video Game Hall of Fame - ... * 2010 Studio of the Year - This one award proves you wrong all the way.

Is Obsidian Just Filling In?
Cutlock replied to Cutlock's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
Sorry, I only skimmed through the interview and did not read all of it. When I played the original Dungeon Seige, to be honest, I hated it. I played 10 minutes and then quit. Dungeon Seige 2 was better, but I only played it for five minutes so I don't have a good experience with that one either. Then I hated Space Seige. When I heard that Dungeons Seige III was going to be made by Obsidian, I thought that I'd give it a try (have a friend buy it and play at his house). Then the thought came to me, what if GPG Takes over Again? I only like a few of GPG's games to be honest. -
Obsidian: We Would Make Alpha Protocol 2
Cutlock replied to funcroc's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
This is a game I'm helping make. Its an indie game. It is based ENTIRELY OFF OF ALPHA PROTOCOL. This is not promotion or anything. I posted this simply to show that people do care. And that if Obsidian never makes AP2 (according to Sega) you can at least have this. http://onpointstudios.webs.com/ -
Is Obsidian Just Filling In?
Cutlock replied to Cutlock's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
See GPG is overseeing the development, so does this mean that after DS3 is done and all its expansions (if it has any) out it will end the series? Or will Obsidian make DS4 and will that be overseen by GPG, or will GPG themselves make DS4? -
Is Obsidian Just Filling In?
Cutlock replied to Cutlock's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
Well it says that GPG is overseeing development. -
Now here is the big question: GPG (Gas Powered Games) has developed each Dungeon Seige main game so far. Why would they just leave the third game to Obsidian? Why would they not develop it themselves, they are big enough. Or is it because too much time is being spent on Age of Empires Online. Nevertheless, do you think that Obsidian will develop Dungeon Seige IV or Gas Powered Games will, because remember its GPG that has the experience of besieging dungeons.

Hurlshot you sick, sick man. Have you no honour. That is akin to Demon Stone and Heroes. Yeah, thanks for pointing that out Tigranes.

Over 100 Signatures! No PCBG-Fantards should post on this thread if they don't care for Dark Alliance. I get it why you wont sign the petition Volourn, your too proud and I respect that. Now there is one small connection between Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. The Elfsong Tavern appeared in both games and I'm not sure if Alyth did because I haven't played the original BG and only played BG2:SoA and ToB, and the thieves guild that appeared in the original game is referenced very much in the first chapter. Its that same thieves guild that is destroyed by Xantam's Guild that appeared in Baldur's Gate, so in a way it continues a factions story slightly. 10-20% not buying it. True. You forgot one fact. 10 - 20 % buying 1-3 extra copies in case the original stops working. Plus, the only people signing the petition are people who know of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. Obviously if a third game does come out tons of new fans are going to buy the game because many people did not know that it was Dungeons & Dragons and they might have hated DnD but loved the game. Sega is a much larger company than Atari and Interplay combined. How come Sega has stated that they will re-release Virtua Fighter 5R in North America if a petition passes a certain number of people. If Sega is willing to do this, what makes you think Atari would do any less especially since they are a much smaller company. If Sega is willing to take in a petition, then Atari will definitely be willing to take in a petition.

They have released more than 2 games I assure you. Although they are all digitally downloads, Interplay is still recovering and Atari has almost fully recovered; especially with how many people bought The Witcher 2. Interplay's Games released so far: 1)MDK2 WiiWare is out with MDK2 HD coming out in Summer 2)Homesteader 3)Pinball Yeah 4)Tommy Tronic 5)Legendary Wars: T-Rex Rumble (the first RTS on the Nintendo DS) 5)Prehistorik Man Remake Upcoming Games (I think they should have put more of their games on the PSN and XBLA, I mean WiiWare and DSiWare, nobody really shops that much and who goes online on a DS!]: 1)MDK2 HD exclusively on Beamdog. 2)Descent WiiWare 3)Stonekeep WiiWare 4)ClayFighter: Call of Putty 5)Earthworm Jim 4 (Which is not going to be on the Wii) 5)Legendary Wars iPhone 6)Battle Chess Remake for PC, iPhone and more consoles!?! although PC and iPhone technically are not consoles... 6)Fallout Online Now Fallout Online will do good: Presentation : Now if they stick to what made F1,F2,F3 and FNV good, its good. Just fix the bugs that the Earthrise Engine will probably cause by the time Interplay goes full into development. Graphics : The Earthrise Engine PWNS in Graphics. Gameplay : With the rules set, all you have to do is apply them. The gameplay will be a mix of Earthrise and New Vegas. How? Earthrise's online controls (which are currently being fixed through a lot of patches) and New Vegas/F3's gameplay. Maybe they'll add turn-based as well, though I don't see how that will work. Music : Really? It only matters if its a dark-themed music. I wait for your reply...
