I liked Morrowind and Oblivion. So it is safe to say that I will most likely buy Skyrim. I'd like to see a better story, a more varied enviroments and better balance for the levelling system. If this happens, I am more than happy, Gamebryo or not.

After reading his post saying Uncharted and Shadow of the Colossus belong in the same genre, I'm thinking he has delusional issues.
-
Uncharted and Shadow of the Colossus have absolutely nothing in common. Objective truth.

They haven't announced when you can choose the game. When I pre-ordered, it said "at a later date". I guess you won't be able to choose until you have paid for the game(TW2).

Captain Obvious has spoken.

Or dare I say it...? Black Isle Studios.

They did some time ago. -
For many gamers graphics is one of the more important aspects. I think most of us here don't need top notch graphics, but then again we are not the majority.

I agree. If bio is going to talk the talk... That said, I know it's all cool to pretend to be 'old skool' and act as if we went back to ANSI graphics it would be ok if the game play was good enough. However this is 2010 not 1990. FX -does- matter in todays market and most gamers do care about such. While they don't need to be bleeding edge they need to at least look the part and help with immersion. As someone who did grow up playing text adventures (Zork, Madness & the Minotaur, Dracula's Castle) and ANSI fx games (Rogue anyone?) I am quite happy leaving those to the past and enjoying some eye candy as well as good gameplay. Both are NOT mutually exclusive as much as some of the arm chair game devs here might think. *nods in agreement*

I don't see myself as a gamer obsessed with graphics, but when BioWare themselves say that DA2 will look many times better than DA, and you see these screens, you can only shake your head in disbelief.

Two Worlds II. I'm not rushing, only playing an hour a day now. I think I have 12 hours logged. Very fun, and I have started to play with the magic combos since I'm mostly using spells. Baldur's Gate II + Expansion. Playing a Kensai/Mage combo for the first time. I'm about to leave the starting dungeon. Using several mods for widescreen and whatnot. The game is as good as I remembered. I wonder if we will ever see anything like it again. Arcanum. It finally works well with Windows 7. I'm liking this game more than Fallout/Fallout 2, mostly because of the mood and setting. Trying to make a mage character with as many followers as possible. All three games have one thing in common: I really like their soundtracks. No, not like, I love them.

I'm not shocked if ME3 has multiplayer. I remember people saying ME2 would have it before it was released. Multiplayer does not interest me at all, but I guess it was inevitable with EA wanting all their games to have some online component. I only hope this will not have negative effects on the Single player portion of the game.

There is a making of video for DA2 up at Gamespot if anyone is interested. Using my phone at the moment, posting a link is a pain.

New or not, that is the question. I'm sorry if this is old, but I saw it for the first time today on gamespot. EDIT: I think it was old. *hides*

I hope this is not true. I don't dislike Bethesda or anything, I just like the fact that Obsidian is independent. However, if this helps Obsidian, then why not? I must admit my feelings about this matter are selfish ones. I want them to keep making games I like and I don't know how it would work with them being owned by a giant. As long as they can find publishers for their games they should be fine. In other words: I hope this isn't true, but if it is, it is not a disaster. Activision and EA would be a problem.

Weird, I did play Risen after Two Worlds, so in retrospect that might have made me more tolerant of the voice work. Two Worlds was just horrific, Risen seemed serviceable to me. I don't get it either, the voice acting was ok to me. But I can see how some people wouldn't like it.

Travelling all over Europe, must be fun. Now if only we knew what was being shown. -
PC footage before the end of the year?

The first thirty minutes aren't very good. I was prepared to put down the game, but I continued playing because I wanted to give it a chance. In the end, I enjoyed it very much. It opens up and you are free to explore as you wish. The only thing that is really stopping you to visit certain areas are strong monsters. I don't know if you have played the Gothic games, but this is more or less a spiritual successor(imo). You can choose a faction you want to stick with, and that decides if you can use magic or not. I chose to stick with a faction that could not offer me any insight to magic. I played a warrior/thief type character with sword and shield, occasionally using a bow. Equipment is very scarce and armour is gained from the faction you join, advance in rank and they will offer to sell you better armor. For me, the game was mostly about exploring and it did that very well. I felt like it was possible to get killed at any time if I was not careful enough. I liked exploring the temples or caves, and the atmospere clicked with me. My only real complaint would be the first thirty minutes + the last boss. Other than that, I would certainly recommend the game. If you are uncertain about it, wait for a price drop. I remember it being on sale for $15 on Steam some time ago, you could always wait for the price to drop again.

Unfortunately you are such a positive and 'glass half full' kinda guy that you like everything, which is a good thing of course, just not when it comes to game recommendations. But he's right, Risen was fun.
-
Risen is a very enjoyable game with great exploration and challenging(fun) combat, although the later chapters aren't as good as the rest of the game. And the final boss was a letdown. I personally liked it and I say buy it. There is a demo you could try.

Hightown & lowtown. Official site.

On a more serious note: I don't see how this would hurt the game? I've only seen one gameplay video from NYCC, but it looked very promising.

Well, there is one. Or several. It has lots and lots of containers. Ah, good to know. Time to save some money.

Still playing Two Worlds II and it is enjoyable overall. There are some annoying things, spent 2 minutes lockpicking a trasure chest only to find another lockpick in it. Some treasures have been empty... I also think loot is randomized. I opened a chest, but was killed afterwards. Went back there(immediately after reload) and the chest had diffetent content. I'm playing as a mage 90%. Of the time, killing stuff before they reach me. The ones that have any HP left are mowed down with dual weapons. Archery hasn't been used much. Also, I need to find a chest where I can keep armours and such. I tried the Torchlight demo for the first time today, and I was a little underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, but lack of multiplayer made me skip it. The second one has potential because it adresses this issue.
