I feel that Whedon does better stuff when he has more freedom(Buffy/Angel) to experiment and do more of a drama/comedy(and managing both while not taking itself too seriously) than a straight up drama. Even though you can pretty much do anything with the Dollhouse concept, most of the time the imprints are either some super ninjas or glorified prostitutes. Maybe he just needs more time to flesh out the characters, but for all the bad Buffy episodes there were also really good ones(like Hush, OMWF, The Body, Becoming etc.). Not that Eliza is helping, either. She did a good job as Faith, especially in Angel, but she didn't have to carry the whole show and have a different personality each week. The Dollhouse concept is explored pretty well in the cyberpunk novel Altered Carbon, if anyone cares. I'm still wondering why they haven't done multiple copies of the same person in different bodies or something like that. They seem to stick to their lame multiple personalities coming through thing instead of exploring the possibilities of the concept itself. Oh and Amy Acker is awesome, she would probably make a much better lead.

The sad reality will be that even if it gets all the critical praise in the world and is the best game ever, Wii Play(with Wiimote) and Wii Fit will continue selling millions without breaking stride while the super special awesome Mickey game that they probably spent a whole lot more money on, will just sell "ok" or maybe "well". The concept is actually pretty good. It's not just "ZOMG Mickey is emo now", but it's about the OLD Disney stuff and weird Robot-Goofy as you saw on the last page.

I haven't seen them on any screenshots. If they come off, they're not real cyberpunk shades. @Raithe: Third person combat and "cinematic dialogue" = Mass Effect. The only thing missing is the stealth and the spy stuff.

Slowtrain, I agree. @Grunker: I can think of very few games where there was any significant difference to the game/story based on your gender. Can you think of some? I guess it made some difference in the Fallouts, but even that wasn't particularly dramatic.

As things are going now, if I were Obsidian, I would release it DD only, in a non-crowded month and rely on word of mouth. Not that they could, with SEGA(most likely) owning the IP. I think some game developer said that the first thing to do was to make sure that you own the IP and not the publisher. Also it wouldn't work too well with the whole multiplatform thing.
