  1. Caught the first episode of Pennyworth. Interesting. Seeing that 50's/60s England thats slightly.. off from how it actually was. Jack Bannon works well as Alfred shortly after he left the Armed Forces and struggling to adapt to civilian life. Looks like the set up is going to be that early Cold War era, but with struggling secret societies of facist vs socialist vs The Crown, along with Thomas Wayne as the American influence getting it's toe in the murky waters.
  2. On other matters, I had left the printer running for the day, so I came home to a finished piece. The project is now looking a bit more substantial:
  3. Had to go to London to do a Company onboarding thing. The joy of early morning trains, 34 C weather..and an executive office where the air conditioning is broke. However, did have a fairly decent view.
  4. Ah, the wonders of modern day life... Fuss being caused by Top Gun.. because it's been noticed that Maverick's jacket patches have been "changed". Now the Japanese and Taiwan flags have been switched to other pictures that have the same colour scheme.... Of course, it might be a coincidence that half the finance comes from a Chinese production company...
  5. Well, I see nothing can go wrong with this...
  6. In the continuation of my 3d Printing project... After about 70 hours total time printing, I have the four main pieces of the chest piece looking fairly decent. With a lot more time printing, I also have one thigh piece in 4 different parts to put together, a couple of forearm bracers, and a few assorted greeblies. Still debating whether to wait until I've got more pieces put together before starting to paint them in fibreglass resin and sanding or to do it in itty bitty pieces here and there....
  7. With the rumours saying that the new film starts with Bond retired, living in Jaimaica, and you then get the shift to M's office in London calling in 007, only for the door to open with this new Actor.. I kind of wonder if it's just the setup for that brief moment to cause some pre-release hype and "news" before Bond gets pulled back into the action.
  8. Rocketman. Definitely slides into the "musical fantasy" slice more than the biopic. If you enjoy the music, you'll probably enjoy the film. Taron Egerton does a good job, but given the fantastical way it's all told, doesn't quite inhabit it. They pretty much push the "not a factually correct biopic" so they can run with the music.
  9. NPR - US Army is discharging immigrant recruits who were promised citizenship
  10. BBC - Manta Ray in distress helped by divers
