Poontang and playing. Not neccesarily in that order.
  1. I'm mostly annoyed with Bioshock not being presented at E3.
  2. Welcome to the Obsidian forums.
  3. Definitely more "seductive" yes. I'm tired of Star Wars games and movies where the light jedi is supposed to be swayed by a rant like "FEEL the power of the dark side! Cast aside the weak, there is no other way!". Dran Draggore, we miss you.
  4. The ability to have the option for romances to me is a greater thing than how the actual romances are pictured.
  5. Late night and a bottle of bourbon.
  6. The latest strip of Penny Arcade deals with resting in MP games. http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3 And I fully agree with it. No one needs to get stuck with a game for the better part of the day.
  7. With D&D a developer does not need to create its own "system" something that can be a very grueling task. In addition there are many good D&D settings to choose from with a D&D license such as Greyhawk (ToEE), Ravenloft (Strahd's Possession), Dark Sun (Wake of The Ravager), Dragonlance (Death Knights of Krynn) etc. I actually thing Forgotten Realms is the most overrated and bland universe of their entire selection.
  8. Whine whine bitch bitch moan moan. There are some people here with far too little insight into economic strategy and processes being far too loudmouthed. A small developer doesn't throw much weight at the publisher's board of directors meeting. They take what's handed to them, they do their best to make a good game of it, so that they could in turn get some leverage on deciding what their next game will be. There are FEW developersin the industry that has the power to truly do whatever they want, Carmack, Epic and DICE being a couple of names. Others are usually stuck to the commericial game - art game - commercial game - art game cycle.
  9. Excellent work Shadowstrider. I found some truly interesting titles in that list that I did not previously know about. A few thoughts about these games... *It appears that the russian software gaming developer community has really taken off. A very good sign. *Many of these appear to be Tactical combat games (XCOM, Jagged Alliance style) with RPG elements. A new trend?
  10. As much as I would like to see another game in the Baldurs Gate vein I simultaneously feel that the D&D universe (particulary Forgotten Realms) is getting old. There are also a good number of D&D mechanics that are downright dumb, such as the very limiting alignment system.
  11. In accordance with this thread... Why not make it Project XXX? :D (not to be mistaken with Project xXx) *shudder*
  12. KoTOR 2 would be a logical step for a completely new developer that needs to make a name for themselves. While the guys at Obsidian are all veterans, most non-RPG enthusiasts have no idea who Feargus & co are.
