  1. Hmm, he shouldn't duck if you're pressing the thumbstick forward, at least I didn't notice it. And I agree, the mechanics they came up with are very nice, overall it's a very well made game.
  2. That's actually a great idea, you should suggest it to Harmonix/EA.
  3. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't let them carry an actual dagger to school. Some kind of facsimile might be allowed, if it wasn't dangerous.
  4. I said it's usually sub-par, meaning not up to a dedicated combat game, doesn't mean it can't still be fun. ME1 is a good example, the combat was about as broken as AP sounds to be, yet it still got great reviews for the most part.
  5. Find one in US which bans religious items. The school woud have to prove that such items are disruptive, and that that's the wearer's fault, and not the school's. As I said before, the standard is compelling government interest, and I don't see any circumstances under which they could prove that.
  6. RPG's usually have sub-par combat, and if the game wasn't buggy it wouldn't be the Obsidian we all know and love.
  7. You have a right. But not much of one. Promoting illegal activity in a school sponsored event is not the same thing as wearing a cross. No it's not, you have no understanding of the law. You can require a dress code, but you can not prohibit display of religious items. At best they could limit the size or something like that.
  8. It all amounts to quality of writing and characters being very subjective. Also different reviewers prioritizing different things, as Josh said. Edit: For example I thought Mass Effect story was horrendously stupid and juvenile. Yet most people loved it.
  9. The constitution does. You have a right to religious expression and free speech even in school.
  10. No, the mud is not cement-like. If the mud succeeds in bringing the pressure to 0, they can then install a cement cap. Di is right, although it looks good so far, they won't know for sure for a while yet.
  11. No, I think that was an alternate plan, but they actually did it by pumping drilling mud through the blowout preventer.
  12. The Chinese military is not part of the ruling elite. Though it's interesting that there's a rift between the two arms of the beast. I'm not sure how to define the ruling elite, but the military has a powerful influence, and even owns many enterprises in China. As far as Middle East, I would say Iran is part of it but Afghanistan is not. Egypt is also part of the Middle East, despite not being part of the Arabian peninsula.
  13. Yes, I've never found out to what degree the claim of gang attire was reasonable. Even if it was though, there's a conflict between the student's right to religious expression and the school concern for safety. I would bet if this gets to court the student would win, since as you say it's up to the school to resolve their gang problems, and I don't think the courts would hold that there's a compelling government interest, which is the standard here.
  14. China realizes they have to do something to diffuse the situation before it gets out of hand. But the Chinese government itself may be split as that article points out.

  16. To the extent US supported Iraq, it probably had nothing to do with pettiness and everything to do with the disaster that would follow in the Middle East had Iran overrun Iraq.
  17. Yes, why don't you do that instead of constantly spewing commy propaganda.
  18. Except for the little problem that they probably have no expertise in this whatsoever. And China does accept the finding, they'll just never say so publicly. In fact I'm sure China knows exactly what happened, no way is NK not completely infiltrated by Chinese spies, just like the US. Edit: Funny how Krezack's link confirms what I was saying earlier:
