Increase Font size
Shyla replied to DaHawk44's topic in The Outer Worlds: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Hello DaHawk44! We are aware of the issues with the font size on the TV and are working to find a resolution for this. I apologize for the inconvenience, but once I have more information on this resolution I will let you and others know. Thank you for the report! -
Hello players! I asked our narrative team to send me their favorite "dumb" line used in the game, and now we want to see which one of these lines you like the most. There is no right or wrong answer, and this is all in fun as everyone who submitted a line knew what I was planning to do, so go ahead and take a gander at the different options. At the end of the poll, I will reveal who submitted that line to you all! On a side note, if you haven't played a "dumb playthrough" yet, I highly recommend it. I'm halfway through my own playthrough, and it's been entertaining to say the least! Thank you, and the poll will end on Wednesday, 1/29, at 3 PM PST. Continue reading for more context on each of the lines listed in the poll above. ----------------------------------------------------- Choice 1: ADA: I am ready and eager to assist. Awaiting your orders, Captain. Inquiries are good, too. Player: What's going to happen if I skip the Hope? ADA: If your calculations are even slightly off, you could crash the entire colony ship into Terra 2. Or the sun. Player: Good thing I'm great at math. I know all the best numbers. ----------------------------------------------------- Choice 2: Player: What? A test? No one told me there was gonna be a test, dammit. I hate tests! Hermit: Yes! That's the spirit! A fellow traveler, one close to the truth themselves! Vicar Max: No, he's/she's not. Just… a bit dim. Player: I don't need to stay here and be insulted. I can be insulted anywhere. ----------------------------------------------------- Choice 3: Huxley: Hello? Hellooooooo? I hear boots out there! Wait, can rapts wear boots? Player: Law help me, it's a talking door. ----------------------------------------------------- Choice 4: Minister Clarke: Slowly and loudly, Aloysius. That's the only way these morons understand anything. I SAID, YOU MAY TELL CHARLES TO GO **** HIMSELF. Player: WHO IS CHARLES AND WHY ARE WE YELLING? ----------------------------------------------------- Choice 5: Player: What's it like being in command around here? Junlei Tennyson: Frustrating. Everything down to the circuitboards is past warranty, so I have the pleasure of making life or death decisions on a shoestring budget. Plus, there's no time to train my successor or document fixes in a way that anyone outside the family would understand. Player: Where's the self-destruct mechanism? Junlei Tennyson: I hope that was a joke, Captain. I really do. ----------------------------------------------------- Choice 6: Parvati: Are you out of your mind? You just- you just killed him. Player: I know, it was great. Parvati: You enjoyed that? Are you some kind of psychopath? I can't- I need to leave. I need to get away from you. Player: Look, I didn't mean to kill the guy. Sometimes I just get confused. Parvati: You can't help yourself, huh? Took a couple knocks to the cranium? I get it. Let's just… let's just move on. I couldn't forgive myself if I let you loose upon the Vale, unsupervised.

The Outer Worlds Patch 1.2 Release Notes
Shyla replied to Shyla's topic in The Outer Worlds: Announcements & News
Hello everyone! I just wanted to answer a few of the comments here. First, I would like to let you know that HDR support will not be coming to the game, so we apologize for any inconveniences this may be causing some of you. Regarding the small font size, we are working on this and hopefully will have more information for you all soon. Same goes for ultrawide screen support; this is being investigated and we will keep you all updated. The Long Ranger bug is also being investigated, thank you for the report. As for the "Head Bobbing" option, we did receive reports from some players that this was negatively impacting their game play, making them sick or dizzy. Because of this, the ability to turn the head bobbing on and off was added. Now regarding the PS4 saving issue, we are still investigating this issue. At this time, if you are experiencing this can you please contact our publishing partner, Private Division, so they can collect the information we need to help our investigation? They have been fantastic in assisting us with all these issues and have been helping us compile the information needed to further our investigation. I hope this information helps, and if there is something I missed, please let m know. Thank you! -
@vulcan78 This is definitely a situation that we are learning from and will take the knowledge we have gained and apply it to the future. I do appreciate your comment and the fact that you took the time to share with us, and I want to apologize for the inconvenience this has been. As soon as I know what we will be doing in regard to this, I will let you and others know.
-
Hello everyone. I want to let you know that we have been listening to everything that you are saying on these forums and that adding support for ultrawide screens is something that the team is continuing to investigate. Once I know more about what actions are being taken, I will share it with all of you. We appreciate all of the reports you are sending in, and we want to thank you for your patience while the team continues to investigate.
-
Hello everyone and thank you for the continued reports. At this time I don't have anything new to report regarding an update for the font size. The team is continuing to work on this issue and as soon as I know more I will share it with all of you. I apologize for any inconvenience this is causing you, but thank you again for sharing with us and for your patience while we continue to investigate this, we appreciate it.

dialogue checks - Pillars of Ethernity I
Shyla replied to Ultra's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Hello @Ultra! Thanks for the question. After asking around, dialogue options are only available if your main character (the one you created) meets the requirements. I hope this helps! -
Character profile and backstory
Shyla replied to Alendra's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
@Boeroer That was what I was thinking, but it's never occurred to me. Something clicked reading this that I need to give this a try next time I start a game; writing backstories is one of my favorite things to do when playing tabletop games so it makes sense to try it here! -
Character profile and backstory
Shyla replied to Alendra's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
This… I like this! Thank you for sharing this, I really enjoyed reading the thought behind your character and her background. You really took my emotions for a turn on this and left me feeling for Alendra. I have a question for you, by writing out your character's backstory do you find that it changes some of the choices you make in the game in order to fit your character better? Did this help you play as Alendra instead of yourself? -

Many have wondered where they can listen to it online. Many more have sat on the main menu, volume full blast, unable to start the game because they have been transfixed by the title theme. To all of you who have been moved by TOW's score, I want to say "thank you" from the bottom of my heart. Your support is incredibly meaningful and is a continual source of inspiration for me. Jmt19, the team is currently working to see what can be done in regards to widescreen support. I wish I had more to share with you at this time so you can have more information, but when I know more about what steps we will take I will share them with you and everyone else so you know what to expect. I do apologize for not only the inconvenience of this issue but for not having more to report. However, I do want to thank you for the continued reports not only to Private Division but to us personally as we continue to share these reports with the team.

A Special Thank You From Obsidian
Shyla replied to Shyla's topic in The Outer Worlds: Announcements & News
No, it was just spaced to emphasize the text message below, but I can see how it looked like a video might be missing. I removed the space to help, thanks! -
Greetings employees of Halcyon, We want to take this opportunity to thank the incredible team behind The Outer Worlds. It is because of their hard work and dedication to this project that we received the Best Narrative, Best Performance - Ashly Burch, Best RPG, and Game of the Year nominations at The Game Awards. To all of those who voted for us in The Game Awards, you are all fantastic and we are so grateful for your support. The reception to The Outer Worlds has been unbelievable to see, and even just being nominated means a lot. However, the journey isn't over yet as we are excited to announce that we will be expanding the story through DLC next year! Details will be made available at a later date. Now we would like to allow our game directors, Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, to share a message with you all: We just wanted to personally thank our team for doing a wonderful job and our fans for their tremendous support. And Tim would like to say what an honor it was to work with me. – Leonard Whatever, Leonard. Now that we’ve finished, I expect that certain photographs will be destroyed, as per our agreement. – Tim
