  1. Well that's a first in a forum discussion I had. I had been called names but this level of conspiracy theory where I'm somehow a different user is new. Nothing more to do than calmly back away from talking to a mentally unstable person. P.S. Seems some updates in my profile are in order.
  2. So you do understand the point that it's better to formulate your own opinions, yet you will still flood the conversation with posting articles. Ok, not everyone can formulate their own opinion and need parroting what other people say. fair enough, but I don't find those particularly interesting. That's a good one. I don't know which is better that Trump will be voted out next year or that Biden will defeat him.
  3. No, you didn't gave examples, you posted articles. Articles that speculate what can or can't happen. These articles don't work on quotes from the actual people making the deals. Therefore they might be interesting but their weight on what is happening is nothing more than a simple speculation. You seem to confuse reality with media coverage. A dire mistake of anyone who deals in politics. For example EU doesn't work like described in the article. NY Times seems to confuse numerous things either by lack of knowledge or on purpose. First of all they claimed Belgium opposed the deal, which is a straight up lie. Their representative was absent to to other duties. And absent representative doesn't count as opposed they are abstained from the vote . Second of all this was a meeting of Council of the European Union which is a gathering of ministers for certain areas yet NYT quotes Macron who is a member of the different body - European Council. That alone make the article not honest at best. Third the unanimous vote is again something that must be done in European Council, not Council of the European Union which requires qualified majority for most cases. Council of the European Union very rarely passes anything unanimous. Again NYT article author is either uninformed or biased to the point of actual lying. This would be a far better coverage of the event: https://www.dw.com/en/eu-backs-start-of-trade-talks-with-us/a-48327245 P.S. Please try to avoid personal insults, there is no necessity to be hostile towards people with better understanding and experience.
  4. See. This is what I talk about. The deal was made and yet some seek some minor detail like Macron's temper tantrum about climate agreement that no one cares about now. I don't have to sound convincing to you good sir. After all Hillary sounded convincing when she said she will win 2016, Obama sounded convincing when he joked about magic wand, Dems seemed convincing when they sayd Muller will indict and so on, and so on. In the end they weren't right. And I think that matters more than sounding convincing.
  5. Ok. But the other means seems to not work or worse have the opposite effect. The kids who fallen through the crack before seemed to hold themselves, behavior wise, to a higher standard than kids that didn't fall nowadays. And corporal solutions might not be the answer but we have to find something that works or there might be trouble in next few generations.
  6. How are the articles from April and May relevant analysis of something that happened in June? So the newest article says how Mexico tariffs make deal less likely...but the tariffs are out since there is a deal with Mexico. So the predictions are no longer valid. The thing is US media and Gromnir here seem to think Trump does the negotiations behind closed doors in the same way he handles his Twitter. And they all seem to think that "Oh there is no way that he will make a deal with X after Twitting Y". And as a person who actually had experience in some high level negotiations I can tell you nobody pays attention to this stuff. I assure you guys if Sadiq Khan had to make a deal with Trump he would meet with him and struck a deal no matter how short or stupid Trump would call him on Twitter. On the other hand I do understand the frustration. They threw everything at the guy for nearly 4 years. Treason, mental problems, far right connotations, racism, misogynism, homphobia, adultery, going after his wife, his children, his money etc. And nothing sticked. That must hurt. But now after they lost all the ammunition they seem to throw paper balls and that's just sad.
  7. Well, yes. It is Cameron Monaghan.
  8. OK. Name one. It's rather funny how the coverage of Trump in last few weeks in Europe and in US have been so polar opposites. There is no enmity between any US partners and Trump. As for the deal with Mexico the problem seems to be that the narration will be carried out by the WH. It seems Trump base don't believe a thing media and Dems are trying to say about Trump. Probably because it's the problem with constant lying-- nobody believes you even when you tell the truth. It seems surprising that left leaning media and Dems think they will win in 2020 by pondering more to the same base. They already lost and the only way they can win is take away Trump voters in states Trump won. But they seem to think like Hillary in 2016 that they can win with better popular vote not the electoral college and go for more votes in California. Funny.
  9. And I didn't. I'm writing posts on a forum, not dissertations mate. Sure it's not a single thing that caused the problem, but I think the change in approach on raising kids had an impact, don't you think? And I'm a little annoyed by the guys claiming that they in US have the answer on how to deal with youth around the globe given how youth in US behave this days.
  10. Sure. Let's follow the US specialists who took the country from kids having rifles in their car without an incident to mass school shootings in a single generation lifetime.
  11. If I'm not mistaken some schmuck just went on trial for not dealing with a murderer ad hoc in the classroom. So there's that
  12. Restorative justice looks like a way to keep bullies to keep bullying and prevent victims from standing up to their oppressor. Evil. The level of self centered 'muricanism ego of this post is astounding. Did you really just implied that government of SA will discriminate agains black students?! And that blacks are undesirables in SA?! Dude read a book or something. And you imply to leave murderers and rapists to "learn life lessons" and that expulsion is punishment enough? Wow, just wow.
  13. I think corporal is one of the punishments that work better as looming threat rather than something to be exercised regularly. And as I mentioned before one solution don't fit all. There are some kids who will behave because they fear even the threat of being hit and there are those that will not be afraid or even proud of getting beaten wearing it like a badge of honor. Kids are like people because they are people. I agree that the component of understanding of punishment is desired if you want to teach people something. But it goes both ways. The kids needs to be able to understand the concept also. And the psychology tell us they are not able to do that for a handful of early years. For the dog example if you don't want the dog to go in a certain room or hop on the couch you smack them with something or get them away every time they try to do that. Your point is for him not to do that, and he won't. Whether the dog understands why he cannot do this or that is irrelevant as he will just obey the rule to avoid being punished. It's similar with kids when they don't understand some concepts. If you don't want you little kid to touch hot or sharp kitchen equipment you just punish them whenever they reach for those as talking is pointless to a certain age. You want the cause reaction response from a kid. Kid have to know if I touch it I will be punished. When they grow up more you can reason and explain things as they will be more prone to understand some concepts. For people who think explaining things is a better way I respond that smacking the hand that reach for hot pot or knife is less traumatic than explaining the concept of burns or cuts. Especially if some creative parent will use examples or presentations.
  14. Well it might be so, but apparently it worked. Trump apparently struck some kind of deal with Mexico. If the perception of such a deal would be in his favor he might just won the second term.
  15. The problem is people tend to think their solution will work for everybody everywhere. The suggestion that detention or expelling will work on kids that are capable of murder is a cruel joke at best. And one that US is refusing to learn even after each incident they go through. I didn't know the problem was so deep BruceVC. It seems the solution would need to go way deeper and broader than corporal punishment in school. Who would punish a pupil in this manner if the threat was being i.e. stabbed by the kid or a group of them? It seems SA lost ground rules and morals they had before. After all it's the country of Nelson Mandela. I think SA must really analyze what happened and what led to this situation before looking for quick solutions. Defining the problem is the first step.
  16. I think you vastly underestimate the speed and acceleration here. Those things hurt like hell.
  17. American system of elimination reminds me of creation of a sports team. You test a group and eliminate the weakest links and what is left should make a good team. The issue is those that are left don't just leave the team and go on their way. The team is your country and you are stuck with them. People that end up uneducated, unlawful and feeling cast out. There is no incentive, or very little, to get back into the system and "start fresh". But I think we would agree that the point should be to have educated, lawful and good mannered citizens. Corporal punishment might not be the ideal solution, but there should be some incentive to become a good citizen. And I think "forcing" some bad seeds to be better is better in the long run than just letting them go free.
  18. I'm wondering why they went with number 3 instead of just naming it Baldurs Gate. It propably will not continue any arcs from original series so why not reboot it anew with new storyline. I also hope the game will be more Baldurs Gate centered. The original series spent very little overall time in the city it's named after and only in first game.
  19. Well thank you. It's actually hussar saber, I got one for birthday.
  20. Being a president is tiresome on you even for the most healthy president ever
  21. Finished watching Chernobyl miniseries. What a blast. Pun intended. There where some changes for the tv series format and skipping some things, like Vienna conference for storytelling purposes. But other than that a great attention to detail and excellent tv at that. Which is a mix rarely seen in a tv adaptation of actual events. As of now it holds a best score in IMDB beating both Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad, which is quite an accomplishment. I recommend it as a must watch for everyone.
  22. So in that case Sadiq Khan is the last person to hold leadership position. He supports Sharia law and segregation of men and women. Evil.
  23. Gog.com just updated Diablo with Hellfire. That must have been hard since Blizzard is not so fond about this addon.
