That's just bonkers. And I use bonkers when referring to a statement that is so outlandish no other word seems to fit. It's not personal, it's about the statement itself. So, to summarize you have no numbers but you throw such statements as just a fraction, not enough etc. And your analysis of the situation is Deadfire sold badly because people didn't bought the game? Is that right, or am I missing some crucial info there?

Ugh, dude it's an example. But there was a new middle sized coal mine financed in Poland for 30 million PLN, which is around 8 million USD. Let's round it up to 10 million. You telling me that in US 20 guys cannot get 400K loan each? Or 80 guys cannot get 100K loan each? That's not even a business loan it would be like regular cash loan you take for a car or something. Let's not think multi billion organization from scratch ok? There are smaller businesses than international corporations and smaller amounts than billions, ok?

The negotiation is of course equal employee can say yes or no and employer can say yes or no. That's it. There is literally tens of thousands other options than working for Amazon. All Amazon employees could quit tomorrow and the only one without a job in few months would be Bezos. The funny thing is that his employees are the ones having the power right now because if they would leave in huge numbers the structure wouldn't be sustainable. But they won't. You know why? Because it's a great job for them not requiring much effort. Sure they might "protest" to get a few bucks more or a more comfy chair but the bottom line is they want to work there. BTW it always make me chuckle when someone bring the "starving and homeless" argument. So basically job at Amazon is saving you from starving and homelessness? This is FANTASTIC how anyone could be mad at someone who is saving you from starvation and homelessness. Imagine that you take your friend home giving him food and shelter and he complains and hates you for it. Talk about being ungrateful. As for working smart=billions I never said that. You seem to think that if you don't earn billions you somehow failed. Don't be so hard on yourself. You can play football with your kids in backyard and with friends on weekends, you don't have to be Messi all of a sudden to be happy. Not everybody can be billionaire but not everybody aspire to be one. Sure everyone would like "to have" billions but to earn them? Not so much. And that's ok. It's extremely competitive and demanding physically, psychically and it takes it's toll. I like watching athletes and I would like to be in such great physical shape but I don't want to put hundreds of hours and my personal life on the line to do so. I'm happy with few hours a week exercising to have a good shape and health and spend my time on other things. Doesn't mean I failed at anything. So my advice is stop beating yourself up because you don't have Bezos level of money. Find what's best for you and be happy.

He created one of the all times best games and RPG games fans recognize him and many developers wanted him to be a part of their games. Hence the many kickstarter games asked him to parricipate and fans backed those titles. It's like saying Spielberg isn't a legend because how many moviegoers know or care who directed those movies. Just bonkers. PoE was advertised as being made by CA. He left and PoE2 tanked. I'm sure there were other factors but if you have better explanations please provide. As for Sawyer his stance on hating promoting the games by the famous name would bear some significance if there were anyone that would want to promote the game on his name. It's easy to reject something no one is proposing XD So basically your stance is I never watched Pele play so he is not a legend, never watched Spilberg movie so he is not a legend and I never played chess so Bobby Fisher is not a legends. Bonkers, just bonkers.

Never said he's my hero. If he breaks the law then he should be punished by law. Don't blame economy for law enforcers shortcomings. Oh yes the poor workers who are taken from their homes at the brink of dawn by armed forces and brought before the face of Bezos the Emperor to work for him day and night without a break, food or pay... Oh wait no they don't. They go there voluntairly. They don't have to work there if the pay or conditions don't suit them. And please spare me the "they don't have anywhere else to go". Amazon wasn't always there and if there was no Amazon then there would be 3,4,5 other comapnies. You know why there is no other company? Because workers went in droves to be "exploited" by Amazon. Why? Because it's easy job with good pay that had little to no skills required. Sorry for not being sympatetic for someones own choices he's not happy with.

You have a weird definition of freedom. By that standard a stray dog is less free than an owned dog. Owned dog have free food, free healthcare and free education. But it also have an owner and it can go out, breed and gets put to sleep at the owner's whim. Having commodities doesn't equal freedom. It gives you more comfort and luxury but there is always a fine print that screws you over at the end. It sounds nice until put in practice when you realise that free healthcare is garbage and free education is replaced by propaganda centers and that you have no say in how you are treated and what you learn. We went through this not so long ago, why people still have this misguided sentiment? And when the owner does the same is ok? Owner takes a loan and start business taking huge risk but the emplyees cannot do the same? Why? If a 100 miners would took 10k each and pull it together you have the same amount and they could be self employed not having the big bad boss to answer to. They would be the bosses of their own. Apparently people are starting to realize this and we have a rise in collective businesses and freelancers that prefer to be their own boss. And that's fantastic. Why would people want to replace the boss (private owner) with even bigger boss (government) is beyond me.

Sure. Because if you don't swing the shovel it's not work. The point is not to work hard it's to work smart and efficient. You can dig a hole with a spoon or with excavator. Which would earn more? Which one is harder work? Cheat the system? How? Did Bezos cheat the system by providing a service millions are using? How about Uber? Providing a service or product people voluntairly pay for is not cheating the system. It IS the system. And I don't get the hate towards people who inherited wealth. Isn't that the whole point? To provide your descendants with a better start? Besides the inherited wealth had to be earned at some point in time. It did not magically appeared. And also I don't see people attacking people who inherited small businesses or other commodities. Where is the magic line between awe "oh, you are still having a bakery that your grandparents started" and "ugh, your parents left you a company"? At which point the jelousy take control and you strt hating someone because their parents were successful?

Lol. Either you don't know what you talking about or trying to bluff.

Watched first episode of Mandalorian. It was good surprisingly. No jar jar like characters, no moralization speeches and no sjw preaching.

And which one of Scandinavian countries have government owning the means of production and central planning economy?

Doesn't explain why Deadfire sold bad. First one sold ok and it was a blast on Kickstarter. So were other games like Original Sin, Shadowrun and Wasteland series and others. Maybe there were external reasons not about the game itself? Did the first one delivered what was promised? Did Avellone leaving Obsidian and informing about how they treat employees played a part? Did the "inapropriate" joke removal from first game rubbed fans the wrong way?

Ugh. Just sick of kids complaining that people worked more years then those kids live have more money than them.
-
Well some people would like the "authority" to censor opposition, but fail to see the implications of giving someone this power beyond a short term "win".
-
I'm sure it would be easier for some to understand basic figures of speech if they would just drop their biases towards interlocutors.
-
Did I? Or maybe once again you pulled a Gromnir and missed the point completely.
-
It's funny because it's true. The thing is no one cares about the facts and truth. Both sides demonizes the other and will stop at nothing to get them no matter what.
-
It's not partisan issue. Impeachment investigation is inherently flawed because it's democrats. They are evil and want to enslave people.

Well there never will be a capitalistic society for a simple reason that capitalism is not a political system it's economical one and doesn't expand outside of economical scope. People think it is because of the socialism vs capitalism debate, because socialism is a political system influencing all scopes of life in a country. In that regards capitalism is criticized for the overall system of a country that uses capitalism as their economical system.
