It would be helpful to clarify what is your definition of decent life/living. I would need to find the study but on average 10% more hours gives about 30% more salary so it's not a flat increase.

Using National Guard doesn't mean deadly force. As far as I know they have training in controling riot situation. It's not like marines will drop and start depopulating the area.

Are they? I didn't recall seeing footage of HK protesters looting and attacking other citizens. Police hurting citizen is now a permission to hurt other citizens? No, sorry. This is not acceptable by any means. And using a persons death to justify crimes is reprehensible.

People say those kind of nonsense like it means something. Of course he doesn't have any. He's a businessman and a politician. People with empathy work in hospitals, homeless shelters and such. And even then you would have to look closely to spot them.

How so? The word maid comes from the word maiden which isn't a bad word. And I don't think it was used as an insult, like ever. The bad connotation can only come from the things that this occupation involves which doesn't change with a new name as Volo pointed out. Funnily enough the term maid was coined because young girls from nobility and such often became maids for more powerful aristocracy members and it would be inapropriate to call them servants.
