  1. Cameron Suey, a producer dude, got interviewed by videogamer.com. 1. That's complete bullcrap. Xbox 360 is 2.5 years old, there is no way its PC equivalent would cost so much. 2. Graphics is the only thing this game is worth playing for. Yeah, that's how I chose to interpret the comment about getting watered down experience if you turn down the video settings. Translation: our programmers suck and would fail miserably if we asked them to optimize the engine for a vast number of possible PC configurations. Man, nitpicking is fun!

    NWN2

Check if you haven't mistaken 0 for O. Happens to me all the time.
  3. Dear God. No modern Russian pop music, please. Even balalaikas are more acceptable. That said, I'm all for the idea of a stylish gadget serving as journal. Not so sure about being stuck with a specific phone/PDA that exists IRL. I'm not a fan of product placement.
  4. Yes, that's the one. You make Hulk ANGRY! Changeling does have a new World of Darkness version, on the other hand. Depends on the setting. Another Forgotten Realms game (unless it's an expansion to NWN 2) is a definite no-no. If it's something else, then why not? We haven't seen a Ravenloft title since 1995, for example. Unfortunately, most of the good settings aren't officially supported by WotC, so it's all highly unlikely.
  5. I checked the PDF, and I'm quite impressed. Base classes are much more customizable, and two characters of the same class won't end up looking as identical twins as often as they used to. I especially like Bloodlines Sorcerers get. Looking forward to the next release: I'm curious about Paizo's take on Bard and Monk. I still hate the art direction, however.
  6. Another thing. If you do get to develop an RPG not based on your own IP in the future, let it be an IP that hasn't been done to death. Like Changeling. Or Dark Sun. Or Changeling. Or Ravenloft. Or Changeling. Or Eberron. Did I mention Changeling?
  7. I know. Still, it is supposed to give you a feel of what epic destinies will be like in 4E.
  8. Epic Destinies. A bit too epic for my tastes.
  9. Are they? In that case I'm not 17 years old, despite what my profile may say. In fact, I'm 35 and have a decade of experience in modding, half of which I spent toying with NWN. And I have a Ph. D. in applied mathematics. Will travel.
  10. Wrong. It's difficult to make diet coke taste any better without throwing in more sugar, and it would cease to be diet coke if they did it. People are vocal about it and let the developer and the publisher know about their decision. I think this qualifies.
  11. Wiki is fine if you need to find a simple definition. Not really. Boycotting implies that you might be interested in the product in question and would get it if the seller/manufacturer didn't make one decision or another. That is what we have here. Plenty of people are pissed off and say they're not buying to buy the game, cancel their pre-orders, etc.
  12. What flamebait? Another Volournian quote: "Don't agree with BIO's (or any company's) business plans then simply don't purchase their product or service." And yet another quote (not Volournian): "A boycott is the act of voluntarily abstaining from using, buying, or dealing with someone or some other organization as an expression of protest." Game over, topic closed!
  13. Yes, Volly, that's what boycott means.
  14. Ha, I love Shamus and his sense of humor. DM of the Rings was hilarious. Anyway, this protection is ludicrous. It will be cracked in a matter of days, and only those who have a legitimate copy will suffer from these measures. Gay. Why can't more companies go the Stardock route? SoaSE sells well with no copy protection at all.
  15. Or you can simply avoid giving him Force powers the use of which is restricted by wearing anything heavy and give him a nice suit of armor.
  16. And he gets it. Designing planetary defenses and healing war-torn worlds is good for your karma.
  17. Uh... So what? People aren't the same. What breaks one may have little effect on another.
  18. I hate people who hate Bao's voice. He is a broken man who destroyed a planet and killed thousands of soldiers with that MSG of his design. Do you expect him to be cheerful? As for those... fanfics, sometimes female gamers scare me a bit. Check the NWN 2 boards: Shirtless Saga is 1209 pages long, while its male counterpart Chainmail Bikini Chronicles hit the 200th page only recently. Just think about it. I wonder why nobody has developed a Tomb Rider for girls yet. You know, a handsome muscular man with his torso naked runs around and shoots stuff. There is a market for such things.
  19. O RLY http://web.telia.com/~u42704646/Kotor/ There is no way this can be real, no freaking way.
  20. Of course it does. Both the original King's Bounty and Heroes of Might & Magic were designed by Jon Van Caneghem, so don't be surprised by similarities. The main difference is that King's Bounty doesn't have the strategic layer and is entirely focused on a single character.
  21. Nope. The Legend is based on the Dawn of Magic engine.
  22. King's Bounty: The Legend. Yep, it's out here in commieland and it rocks!
  23. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4ex/20080505a Skill challenges. Inspired by the trial in NWN 2?
  24. Congratulations with getting the job! Obsidian has been pretty weak at public relations thus far, I hope this is going to change.
