  1. Is that more of a storytelling game first, or detective/P&C? Hard for me to get a feel from just the store page...
  2. Demon's Souls (emulated). First time really playing it, which is funny, because I actually used to have a PS3 and Demon's Souls, but just wasn't interested in it at the time. It feels a bit less smooth and clunkier than even Dark Souls 1...and not just because I'm emulating it. For very early PS3 emulation, it's surprisingly stable and I mostly get a constant 30 FPS (the game's max). No crashes yet, though my audio did cut out one time. I don't think I'll like it as much as DS1 or Bloodborne, but it's already clearly better than the trash heap that was Dark Souls 2. I'm also playing Dark Souls 3 as well...and now that I think of it, it doesn't seem like the greatest idea to play both of these at the same time. From what I've played, though, I think my rankings of the Soulsborne games will probably end up BB > DS1 >> DS3 > DeS >>> DS2.
  3. So then the next obvious question is how do you get the in-game currency, and can you pay real money to get a lot of it? The answer is...not yet clear, as it's not stated anywhere that I looked up either way.
  4. At the time of his retirement, he held most passing records, and was one of the greats of the time up there with Unitas and (just a little later) Tarkenton.
  5. I mean, unless she doesn't mind her family starving/freezing to death, I guess. :D Sadly, I can't think of a lot of not heavily-gameplay mechanic-driven games that are also neither fantasy or sci-fi. The former eliminates most all games, and the latter eliminates almost all of what's left. Ignoring the latter, my recommendation would be Broken Age. Maybe Amnesia or Penumbra if she's into horror, as they really don't have too demanding gameplay mechanics besides occasional hiding and puzzle-solving...but if she's not into horror, probably don't do that. Undertale might also be an O.K. idea...
  6. Yeah, I was responding more to Rosbjerg regarding crates and loot boxes in general, not specifically the LotR game (which I know next to nothing about).
  7. Fortunately, the business model is a dead man walking-type of situation: it won't exist anymore in probably 10-15 years (and hopefully sooner!), because as soon as the government catches up and actually classifies it as a form of gambling, suddenly all of these games have an Adult Only rating and don't exist in the majority of storefronts and can't really be sold anymore, especially not to children. Other types of micro-transactions, on the other hand...
  8. For your grandma, I think Papers, Please will be much too difficult, I'm afraid. You have to be pretty quick in that game, both in using your controls as well as looking over and comparing different bits of text on characters' passports and such...and the game gets harder and harder as it progresses.
  9. I am seriously amazed that we pulled this off TWICE @Cowboys, especially when our team is seriously in such freaking shambles this time. Good lord.
  10. I don't see why teams don't throw it every single time against us. I know there's underlying philosophy for as to why you don't, but our DBs really are complete and total trash - bad positioning, terrible at making open-field tackling, never making plays on the ball. Not even our safeties, which were a strength last year, have looked that good so far*. *At coverage, I should say.
  11. and the refs are utter trash already, good to know. not sure what's been up with that, but every packers game has had absolutely terrible officiating - we were huge benefactors against the seahawks, but it was the other way around for the falcons and bengals, and a little bit for the bears. not a good start.
  12. Yeah, I'm pretty sure only dummies argue that men and women have the same biological makeup. ...That's not to say those dummies aren't out there, but they are dummies.
  13. in other news, davante adams was decapitated last week but has somehow cleared the concussion protocol and will play against the cowboys. I guess if it was a clean cut all they have to do is reattach the head, really
  14. You just post the link, and it automatically converts them for you under most circumstances (it only does 2 videos automatically per post, and it doesn't like it if you do both https and the URL shortener at once). Your link has the URL bbcode included in/overruling it, hence why it didn't automatically become an embedded video. So your link looks like [u.rl=ht.tps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-oHBkikDBg], but it should actually just look like ht.tps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-oHBkikDBg. This can be annoying to deal with if you're in the normal post editor - if you click the light switch at the top left of your post editor, it should clarify the bbcode stuff. However, the editor is currently broken (and has been for probably a couple of years now), and doesn't recognize linebreaks, making it difficult to read your longer posts.
  15. I'm just praying that Rodgers will have his offensive line this game. No more 5 guards out there at once, please.
  16. I finished Life Is Strange. Probably one of the top 3 new games I've played in the last decade.
  17. I'm pretty sure he's had comments like that in the past, so it didn't really come as a surprise to me. I guess they were kind of smoothed over since his MVP year, though. It's much easier to forgive a person for stupid stuff...and sometimes even horrifying stuff...when you like them for other reasons, I guess.
  18. Yeah, I fell asleep right after the saints-dolphins game because it was so dreadfully boring, and woke up to some...interesting results on the day, to say the least.
  19. this saints-dolphins game is making me wish north korea would bomb us
  20. What the hell, Europe. The currency sign is on the wrong end, theres an unnecessary gap where the comma should be, and said comma should be a decimal point! Anyway, Google says that equals $59,063.50 at todays exchange rate! Crikey! I always thought having the sign after makes the most sense for normal usage, but apparently the reason it comes before is because if you place the sign at the beginning, and place the decimal point and the amount of cents at the end (even if it's just 00), the number can't be easily modified. If you place the sign at the end, there's nothing to prevent another number being written at the beginning (e.g. 20.00$ -> 120.00$). It's probably not quite as applicable now as it was (seeing as most everyone just usages credit/debit cards where fraudulent charges can be reversed, for the most part), though.
