  1. In my experience, going Helwalker makes a big difference, DPS-wise (might bonuses form a substantial part of your damage input, since you don't have a lot of other passive damage boosts). Holy Slayers are pretty great, and if you go Streetfighter you can get very impressive single-target DPS. But you have to set things up to allow yourself to be flanked and/or Bloodied a lot of the time, so probably not the best bet given the style of play you're describing... : P EDIT: Though I should note that the main Streetfighter boosts only require flanked or bloodied. So as long as you make sure you're flanked most of the time (say, by using Escape to teleport into the middle of crowds of enemies) you can get most of the benefits of being a Streetfighter. (Also pretty easy to get flanked if you're doing a solo run, but not sure if that's what you're thinking about!) Crap: Just did some testing at level 20, and damage per swing is really low even with Helwalker. I guess the increased attack speed increase the true DPS quite a bit but I don't think it's enough to compare to a Holy Slayer. But then you get those incredibly long stuns. I am really conflicted now. What other Paladin multi-classes can do huge DPS other than Holy Slayer? I want two Paladin multi-classes at the front, but I don't want both to be Holy Slayers You know you and I are both testing the same thing.
  2. Correct Paladin/Rogue has better DPS. In a group setting, I’ve run dou and full groups. Part of the reason I run solo is because it’s more fun and challenging. I find a lot more micro is needed in a group. DPS-wise another DPS with your main will more than suffice. A chanter in the back giving support and you are on easy street. Throw in a ranged DPS and the spawns will melt. My last group I made had a trickster/unbroken as a main tank and 3 full dps as support. Nothing could stand up to them. Every agro focused my tank and the DPS cleaned up the spawns.
  3. Well I agree, that’s why his post is about Holy Slayer and Crusader, I haven’t found a Swashbuckler build that I think compares to s solo POTD run. Though I do find fighter has great synergy with Paladin. The constant heals of my Devoted/Goldpact are boarderline stupid. The amount of damage I was able to tank on my last run was insane.
  4. Tbf pala/chanter with Eld Nary is not even close to single class chanter with the upgraded Eld Nary.It is still better than summons tho, since summons lack Pen. Eld Nary is strong but it has big drawbacks - long cast time, targets fortitude and is rather expensive. The best solo build for me is the Darcozzi/Skald spamming Thrice Was She Wronged - a rather effective and cheap AoE spell. Deltro's Cage/Black Plate for armor, Sun and Moon with modal to debuff reflex between casts, the medium shield with health regen, ring of greater regeneration, etc... Basically unkillable with endless AoE attacks and able to deal with any encounter without abusing consumables, kiting or splitting enemies right from the beginning. Why Darcozzi specifically? The flame shield seems rather weak compared to Goldpact's armor bonus. Because vs multiple enemies the armor bonus will go away very fast. The flame shield however is just free damage and will last the entire fight. My build is already very resilient and the damage shield + eternal devotion help me deal damage to multiple enemies (the lash buff affects Thrice Was She Wronged), while the bonus from Sworn Enemy is very small (basically 2dmg every 3-4s) and only for a single target. Personally I find Goldpact exceptionaly tanky. In most fights, I found that the adds cannot even begin to damage you until they break the gold. Follow that up with sworn rival and you basically have unlimited casts. For me this resulted in full swarms as rivals, and at that point they just start exploding. Oh this is PoTD solo.
  5. Arcane Dampener or Arcane Cleanse would presumably take down buffs, and speed up the fight a bit. But I'll confess that I've never tried that myself. All but one of my fights against him were solo fights, and all of those lasted forever... : P I’ve taken him down several times. It involves a split. Take down the two minions at the start of the cave by drawing them your way. Now you have split the battle into 3. Next take the right side minions and draw them back. Equip ranged weapon take out pillars. Kill the Lich next by drawing him towards the book shelves. Finally the last set of minions. Goes very fast this way.
  6. I was thinking of stacking Eccea’s Arcane Blaster with Scordeo's Trophy I think that’s a fairly good combo as far as pisotols go. I’d also consider carrying blunderbusses as the backup weapons. Haven’t figured out what I want there yet. As for classes I’m torn as usual. I’m fairly certain I want to do Goldpact but I’m between Helwaker and Ghost Heart. Of course if I do a caster it’s going to be a whole other can of worms If you go Devoted with two weapon damage type, then you are all set, no? This is why I picked greatswords
  7. Thank you, I hat thought voltary might be pretty good, found this build and wanted to double check. I suppose it’s the nerfs to monk?
  8. After defeating Ukaizo with my last build I’m more certain that a high single target DPS is the best way to kill both Fampyrs and bosses. I see the power of an AOE based build, but long term sustain means you have to sacrifice some defense to be able to kill at a faster rate. Or, some cheese tactics that I don’t really want to take part in (personal preference). What are the highest penitrations achievable with single target DPS? Is it preferable to see out raw damage items and skills then? What weapons other than animancers blade provide that raw damage? Thanks, I knew it was doable, with that build even as underprepared as I was.
  9. Okay, so, not sure if I mentioned I went into this fight totally unprepared. Meaning I have 5 healing pots, 3 summons I can use, and that’s about it.My build switches between WoTP and Sanguine greatswords (depending on surrounds by agros). I never got blackened plate, as I found fighting Fampyrs just to tedious with this build. So currently I switch between patiented plate and DoC. The rest is pretty standard to the build in the builds list. I know I can win this fight with what I have, but it will take several retries. Food whirs I’m using helinia blessings (SP I’m not at my PC). The long of the short of it is, I’m looking for a more DPS heavy build that can tank the same. Ah, devoted to a 2H weapon. Yeah, all the builds I’ve soloed Ukaizo with have been sword and board. I think that’s really the way you want to do this fight. Get a good large shield (bronlar’s or cadhu with retrained skills to match) and either the animancer’s energy blade or Kapana taga, or some other good 1h weapon. (If you don’t do the energy blade, you’ll want the food that boosts weapon penetration.) Throw on a ring of greater regeneration, and maybe even the three trolls cape. Retrain to focus on passive abilities. With that, even if you’re a devoted to a different weapon, and have to eat the -10 acc penalty, you should be able to power through. Now, I know you asked about tanky higher DPS builds; the goldpact streetfighter build fits that description. But to be honest, in the Ukaizo fight that build won’t play that differently. In my experience, a key to solo-ing many off the hardest fights is choosing the right equipment beforehand. (Case in point, my current attempt to painfully work my way through the new SSS DLC on solo upscaled PotD has definitely required some careful preparation to get through fights... : P ) Side note to the previous post above. I was able to beat Ukazio without a respec I forgot I had charm bones amulet. Ended up using all 10 charges to beat him but, I did it.
  10. RE Goldpact/Ranger I was thinking that the stats would be something like this: MIG: MAX CON: MIN/BASE DEX: MAX PER: MAX INT: MIN/BASE RES: MIN/BASE I’m not certain if might should be switched out for intelligence. Or that they should be balanced together. I believe that dexterity and perception should be fully maxed for speed, accuracy and penetration. Constitution and resolve, I see them either dumped or base. With my last Goldpact build I was so Tammy that I never felt the need for high deflection or health. Race wise I was thinking wild orlen for resistances. Since my last go around with Goldpact I was rarely bloodied so I felt human was a wast. **preliminary testing on the first post for those interested.

But in the long run this character just isn’t doing enough DPS. It’s consistent, but just not fast enough or high enough. Crits hit for around 125ish. But I found with both Ukizo and Fampyrs that their DR really makes the battles tedious. Like two titans battling with wet noodles. Neither can do damage to the other but in time I just run out of reasources. I’m really interested in doing a run with very high single target potential on auto attack. Where skills enhance the survival side. That’s why I was thinking Goldpact/Ranger with pistols. I’ve also been reading the single class may have better potential for this sort of thing...

  13. FWIW, I’ve found the builds that have the easiest time with the Fampyrs to have a harder time with bosses, and vice versa. (Namely, I’ve found that a tanky AOE blaster with Captain’s Banquet can go through the Fampyr fights pretty easily, but has a harder time with bosses. While I’ve found a tanky single target DPS build can go through boss fights pretty easily, but has a harder time with Fampyrs.) Will sh*t. My Devoted Goldpact seemed to do okay with both until Ukiazo. I’ve died twice so far and mainly it’s due to tank sustain. DPS wise it’s pretty consistent.
  14. So recently, I've taken to solo play. And its not that I'm having major issues with either Fampyrs or Bosses, its more like I want to know what is the best overall solo build to deal with these enemies? I feel like if you have a solo build can easily dispatch Fampyrs than bosses would be also equally as easy? I am thinking of starting a new run either dual pistols (unknown class build... Goldpact/Ghost Heart?) or wizard/multi. I'm looking to create something that is unkillable AND dishes out long term sustainable damage. For reference, I've already run a Goldpact/Devoted to Ukaizo and have been defeated twice on PoTD. Granted i really did not prepare for this fight, I have 7 healing potions and VARY limited other items (summons/drugs etc.) Any advice? ********************************************************* TEST - Round 1 - LV1 Ship Test - Inconclusive (See Round 2) ********************************************************* UPDATE #1 - Veteran - All Upscaled - Testing Class: Goldpact/Ghost Heart Race: Wild Orlan Weapon: Pistol/Scepter First Ship Only Bear Companion Stats: MIG: 18 CON: 8 DEX: 18 PER: 18 INT: 8 RES: 8 Notes: Cannot kill Eder First battle is quick. 15. What stats did you try? With Berath's Blessings:Might 16 Con 10 Dex 16 Per 20 (17+2+ 1 from background) Int 18, for summon duration Res 10 But, I think it is viable to dump a bit Might and power Dex, as it is more useful in terms of the quick summoning Oh, guys, I'm totally sorry, I made such a stupid mistake. I thought, that was a question for me. Please, forgive me( No worries dude. Probably around the same setup u/ mant2si used. Though I am still curious. I’d played a ranged character before but it was so damn squishy. This looks like the play style I love. My only question is how it does vs. BOW dragon or fampyrs? I like the idea of a hard hitting tank who totes pistols. Sounds like a good time
  16. Yeah, that's true, but all the bonuses to recovery speed from Dex, drugs, items, potions, spells, etc. - are applied to the reload speed, so does the bonus from Ila chant, so you really have 40% total bonus, just check it out. I think that's not the bug, but the feature of reload mechanics making the chanter one of the best shooters with firearms or other reloads in the game Are you doing this with a group or solo?
  17. Well... there's more to be said on the matter for sure: choosing skills, managing them throughout the fight, making sure it's not too long... maybe it does look really reductionist to say it the way I did, but yeah... just look at Llengrath's Safeguard. True. And I’ll certainly look more into that side of survival once I pick a path. As it is I think I’m between Sage and thuamage
  18. Well i mean... okay you win I've done that, and currently i'm running a Devoted/Goldpact and shes indestructible, I'm looking to do my next run as a caster class, but ideally I want to be tanky
  19. Probably healing pots and food only type run. I don't want to have to spend a ton of time crafting and finding materials for crafting if possible Then - Paladin/Streetfighter, Fighter/Soulblade, Paladin/Ranger, Paladin/Chanter, Paladin/Fighter, Monk/Wizard, Monk/Fighter, Monk/Paladin. The game has pretty easy mathematic (if we will skip all unstable classes like Streetfighter/Berserker or BDD like builds) You just need: - Some way to restore your hit points (for example healing pots) - ~19-20 armor (~50% DM reduction for bosses attacks) - ~130 defenses and 120 ACC You can play with numbers and try to sacrifice some numbers for more offensive setups You need that on every character?! I don't know how to get 19-20 armor on any non-Goldpact character; and I don't know 120 ACC on any non-Ranger character. Interesting, I’ve been leaning toward sage (monk/wizard) in this discussion. And you’ve sorta confirmed less management is needed with it. My issue becomes what to do about the squishy side of that? I’ve also been considering monk/druid, Someone posted a sort of storm caller build using all shock equipment. Looked pretty dope https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/102529-class-build-the-fate-testarossa/ <<<--- Heres the build i was talking about.
  20. God-damn... I mean, I know this is a resource heavy build... but wow. So amazing. Can you post a complete build soon? How/where do you get all the crafting materials you need to make this work? How much prep time between fights does it take?
  21. Probably healing pots and food only type run. I don't want to have to spend a ton of time crafting and finding materials for crafting if possible
  22. Yeah, it’s a good idea. I ran with it myself. Okay, okay, so which of these is the best at killing Fampyr's and Bosses? Because, they all sound so good...
