  1. Maia made my spider sense go off the very first moment she opened her mouth. Not only does she admit to being a spy right off the bat, confirming the queen's warning, but she also presents a mutiny situation as her introductory dialogues. What honest person is going to make their first introduction a "Hey, so if your whole crew turned against you, how would you handle that...exactly...spare no details. Oh, btw, I'm a spy." Heck no, bird whisperer, you can march your giant sneaky spy self back to the Brass Citadel. Plus, she dogged on Kana. Kana was my Samwise Gamgee in PoE1. No one can dog that innocent flower of a scholar and be a good person. On a side note (and less rabidly angry one), is it possible to actually remove her from the ship/companions? I mean outside of death.
  2. I don't believe that it's a religion skill check (unless maybe a party one) since my Watcher only has maybe a 1 or 2 in religion. She's very dependent on her companions knowledge of religion. About the possibility that the hooded figure is a Wael godlike, that's actually a really cool idea. I know in the godlike thread on here there was talk about his godlike having a bunch of eyes, but isn't he also called the eyeless face? Maybe that is one of his godlikes and they get bonuses to illusions or something. On a side note, is there actually any dialogue indicating the companions see the hooded figure or is it only ever the Watcher?
  3. My Watcher is a pale elf mindstalker (no subclasses) from the White that Wends. She hid the scroll during Wael's quest in Poe1, but did not follow his advice for the hollowborn souls. Instead, she sent them to strengthen the Dyrwood.
  4. Huh, I always took whiteleaf as being Eora's equivalent to marijuana. Though, to be fair, I've not read much on the game's drugs and plants.
  5. Just did this encounter and wanted to add my experience with it. My Watcher ended up seeing what I assume was Wael under the hood, it was a grey eyeless face, when she looked. I also wanted to note that she does not have any of the crew members others have reported being killed on her ship. So, maybe it is based a bit on who is a member of your crew. Or maybe it's completely random. Only Wael knows I suppose.
  6. If only we had a boatswain... Also, Xoti is the queen of inappropriate reactions to death! Ha!
  7. I wouldn't say that... Just because Rymrgand godlikes appear to have many eyes doesn't mean Wael godlikes can't take the eyes to new extremes.
  8. I've yet to see a topic like this on the forums yet (perhaps it was buried), but what are some funny moments, ridiculous bugs, or simple wtf situations you've encountered in-game? So, I know that Aloth has a solid reputation at this point of being ridiculously picky and judgemental, but what the heck is this? He's now breaking the 4th wall... Nothing says hubris like punishing humidity in a jungle. Right? Note: Aloth's complaints are always silent.
  9. It is disappointing that there isn’t any solid character growth with Xoti. At best, you can convince her to give consideration to the light side of Eothas/the living instead of being obsessed with the dead. To be fair though, from her perspective there is a literal walking giant of proof supporting that her “god” is real and Xoti has never struck me as a character that cares too much about the hows or whys. Everything is black and white with her. Her view is right and that’s just how it is, at least in her mind. Which is mirrored by her endings. She goes either light or dark. I have yet to see any evidence of a true “tempered” ending with her. She’s either Happy Bubble priest or Jane the Ripper.
  10. What would a Woedica (Woedican?) godlike look like? Do they have like permanent mask faces? Come to think of it, WOULD she have ones or did she bank fully on Thaos instead.
  11. From what I've seen, the changes seem to be applied to the current saves. However, some of them also seem to be missing. For example, I know the one that recommends party members for quests is there, but I have yet to see the added feature showing how dialogue affects companion favor show up in my current save. If your concern is more about the combat balancing changes, I can't comment on that as much. Theorycrafting / combat isn't really something I track closely, but based on other threads those changes seem to be active as well. If this is incorrect, please someone say otherwise. These are just things I've noticed myself so far.
  12. Thank you for the responses. I hope that they are fixed next patch since the silence when clicking on party character's is a bit disheartening. Is there generally a place to track when patches are released? Do they work on a set schedule like some of the MMO's or is it just a case of "when they're ready" sort of deal? I can't remember if I've seen a post on here addressing patches already. In general, I've been reading posts on here and Reddit. It's starting to get hard to remember what was where. I think I'm starting to go cross-eyed over all the info.
  13. Since this is the spoiler's thread I'm assuming I can go whole hog on descriptions/breakdowns. If this is incorrect please let me know. I'd like to add to what Knownastherat said. Story-wise going from Port Maje directly to Fort Deadlight makes Serafen's quest and narrative flow more smoothly. The order of events essentially would go: Attacked by Benweth > Shipwrecked > Port Maje > Ambush by Furrante > Recruit Serafen > Learn Benweth's ship took damage and made port at Fort Deadlight (implied timed deadline before his ship is seaworthy again) > Plan with Serafen > Sail to Deadlight (racing implied deadline). V - Personal experience here: I was attacked by a pirate on the way, Weathered Cormio, and took his flag. This added several narrative benefits since it gave access to the flag, introduced ship combat, and gave weight to Furrante's warning that Benweths' successful attack makes my ship look like easy prey to all the other pirates.- V And onward: Break into deadlight (whichever way you do it) > Serafen introduces his motivation/quest > Deal with Benweth (and learn a little bit about the new blood Principi) > Benweth story arch closed/resolved Sail to Neketaka > Receive letters from both Furrante and Aeldys both of which the PC now has a bit of knowledge of > Neketaka > Serafen see's Malnaj's boat > Ambush by Malnaj And that's as far as I've gotten so far, but it does seem to have a better narrative flow. So far the main conflict I've seen is between the implied time table to deal with Benweth and the implied damage to the PC's ship. When I left Port Maje, I got the impression the ship's repair was a rush job and that reaching Neketaka was a priority since The Defiant is essentially being held together by rubber bands and chewing gum. However, since all threats ingame seem to be implied (unless the gods are concerned), this narrative flow is still my favorite.
  14. Thank you all for the awesome responses! I can see how the order of gettting Takehu (before or after palace) probably doesn't matter as much, but it does seem like it's worth having him in the party when it comes time to go to the Gullet. After that, the quests seem to flow pretty smoothly in Neketaka. I absolutely can see how just running off and exploring could mess up quests. I tried that on my second game restart before I realized that, unlike the Elder Scrolls games where you can look at the main quest and go 'nah I'm gonna go do this instead' , this game does have a loosely implied order of events. On an unrelated note, I love how Berath totally sends you to the wheel if you refuse her. Best first (second death?) game death ever.
  15. Hey all, So I just noticed that the companions don't make any comments when they're clicked on. Did they not include the "annoy via poking/clicking" dialogues for companions. I know I enjoyed spam clicking them in PoE1. The comments were always funny and worth it. I'm hoping this is a bug or maybe that they're just not firing like they should. Answers would be appreciated. I need to uphold the tradition of irritating them.
  16. Ok so the way I tried it at first was Port Maje > Beeline to Neketaka > Gullet to try and find a flag for Fort Deadlight (No flag) > Get tangled in Gullet stuff > Frustrated reload. This time it may be better to do Port Maje > Kill first pirate that looks at me funny > Take flag > Fort Deadlight (stealthy assassination) > Dunnage > Neketaka Palace > Takehu > Destroy Takehu's shine in the gullet > Profit?
  17. Is there a set order to do quests in this game? I know you're suppose to be able to just run around and do whatever, in theory anyways, but I can't shake the feeling that there's at least some kind of implied order to events. Like going to the Gullet before the palace seems to be backwards. Is there a list of quests by level? This isn't a Bethesda or sandbox game , thank goodness, but it's not strictly a linear one either. I'm not really sure what to make of it.
