  1. Well i consider wild hunt one of the best crpg of this generation. for the scope/size, the storytelling and the characters. The freedom of choice, to a certain degree, can't be the same of a much smaller game like poe1 or torment; and it isn't a point of strenght. Take a minute to think of a 200 hours long torment, it would be pure madness for a developer. I love equally games like deadfire and wild hunt. But of course, everyone knowns that the very and only best game in the universe is ultima 7.
  2. Durgan's battery is a good dungeon experience, but its not vanilla. We'll see what forgotten sanctum will bring.
  3. Bigger doesn't mean better, plus if the unknown is little consistent. I prefer ten dungeon like oathbinder sanctum or the hanging sepulchers over one like caed nua.
  4. I don't know why people praise so much the dungeons in poe1, many of them are three floor deep but are filled with trash mob room after room. Also poe2 has a LOT of dungeons, maybe smaller but more characterized, and imho fort deadlight win over raedric keep.
  5. I dont know if some of you remember Heretic (or hexen), but i always loved the mages robes, pretty cool with shoulder guards.
  6. "More to come" at the end of the infographic... Maybe with the launch on consoles we will see new things, who knows. I will likely buy a new pass for other three expansions, that for sure.
  7. Deadfire is beautiful to see, i hope they'll keep the same isometric engine
  8. Whats wrong with dual classing? Its a plus, you can ignore and choose a single class. I like criticism but when something is subcratded from a game, not added. Besides that, ignore the OP, it is probably a troll as copy/paste the same thing on steam.
  9. You know, videogames are a form of art, i don't think the uber driver put the same passion in what he does. BUT, if the uber driver make you enjoy your travel there's nothing wrong thanking him; you can't go wrong being kind to people and respect others.
  10. I'm a 36 old dad, between work and family i got very little time to play and my favourite genre are crpg's since when i was young; I started playing on Atari ST with Cadaver (bitmap brothers) then i fell in love with Ultima Undeworld wich teached me english (i'm italian), might & magic, fallout and of course baldurs gate. I want to say thanks Obsidian, i loved poe1, but when i play deadfire it bring back to me old memories of afternoons passed playing with friends and nothing else in mind. Thank you sincerely.
  11. An ultima underworld style size dungeon with npc, civilized zones and puzzles for me would fit.
  12. Isn't romanceable even by a woman char, the whole "homophobic" thing is only in your head.
  13. Maybe more of both types? Consider 2 h axes don't even existed at launch.
  14. Just a curiosity. We have all sorts of weapon, but no two handed axes (halberds doesn't count), why?
  15. I really hope it won't be since (i) open world games are boring (to me) and (ii) most CRPGs these days seem to be at least semi open world. these days? Lol. Darklands is from '92, might and magic series started in 1986, ultima series in 1980, Fallout 2 '97, Arcanum 2001... I need to go on? Of course its a personal preference.
  16. I really hope that poe3 will be open world, monorail games are boring. Wild hunt without the open world? No thanks.
  17. Fallout 2, Arcanum, Ultima 7, Gothic, Gothic 2, Ultima Underworld, Divine Divinity, Risen, Baldur's Gate...
  18. Are you kidding me i hope ;D @achilles: obviously you've never played the games i mentioned before or Ultima 7. PoE2 is open world, but still suffers from the “too many distractions” problem that *all* open world game have. Currently on my 4th playthrough and finally have a good idea of what needs to be ignored in order to keep a consistent narrative. You can never have too much to do. To each his own an all but having more to do than you could possibly want to complete gives a layer of immersion linear experiences simply do not have. Being able to come back to a game time and time again and always having something new to be discovered is what keeps bringing me back to games like Skyrim, Witcher 3, or any recent fallout title for example. You can say its a problem (and some agree) but that element is a huge draw for a lot of people also.Yeah. Some people really like that. Some people really like games for the story. Thank you for repeating it again.Yeah not mutually exclusive lol...Except that they are. Your options are 1) play in the sandbox and throw narrative to wind or 2) chase the narrative and ignore the sandbox. There is no middle ground. The point that I (and others) have tried to make is that while option 2 is available for narrative-focused players, it usually involves multiple (sometimes frustrating) playthroughs. There is middle ground, and many games prove that. If you want a straight narrative, from A to B, ok, it's awful for a crpg unless you're playing a beat em up or a fps but ot each its own i guess, there are people who eat pizza with pineapple. Even a pnp rpg camoaign is not devoid of freedom given to the players unless you're a bad master.
