  1. So i got WOTEP The base damage is nearly half of what Pike does. I think greatsword 15-20, Pike 20- 30. The great sword does two weapon types and the pike only one but IMO it appears that the greatswords base damage is far to low. Halving the base damage is way to much to compensate for the two weapon types. What does everyone think about WOTEP? Iwhat id the best upgrade for it? thanks
  2. yeah im having the same issue. Loved POE1 but not able to get into Deadfire. I think the story just isnt immersive enough. Chasing a giant who has your soul blah blah blah. \ Dont even need you soul to go treasure hunting and collect bounties ect.........why the f$k would i want to chase a statue around on a wild goose chase just stupid
  3. I mean its frustrating that the vast majority of items, spell and abilities in the game are very mediocre eg +1 this +2 that +10% that. I hardly even notice using 99% of stuff. Surely there is a way of making the game balanced without making all items and abilities mediocre. @op Yeah i agree with you to a certain point. Just keep in mind that you are on an obsidian forum full of hardcore obsidian fans. You will be ganged up on and cut down if they deem any of your comments to controversial, regardless if you are right or wrong. They do this just because you are criticizing obsidian.
  4. so is it a bug or it working correctly? Seems like a pretty stupid rule to implement that your stats dont actually work the way they say they do?? But Ive certainly seen worse from obsidian
  5. I have 21 dex and should give 33% bonus to action speed it says on the tooltip when i hover over it (the stat dex) When i check what bonus it passes on to my weapons eg action and recovery times it is only showing a 25% bonus? What is going on here is this a bug?
  6. Man ive been hanging for this game to come out for so long and to be honest i was incredibly surpised when they announced the release date for early May. Anyway i have decided to put off my playthrough untill the game is fully released after November. The game not being complete along with the constant patches in between this period to when it is fully released i think will drive me bonkers to the point where i will stop enjoying it. Dont get me wrong im not a hater, Deadfire is looking like it will probably be the second best game i have ever played in my life (after BG2) Its just not IMO not worth playing at the moment due to the bugs, the game not being complete, and the constant changes issed through what seems to be very dramatic and significant pacthes I live, I learn See you all again in November when the game fully released and hopefully ready to play bye!
  7. A great big blanket nerf. This is what appears they are doing for the upcoming patch according to the BETA I mean yeah the game definitely needed some increased difficulty but i get the impression that they have not put much thought into what they are nerfing and have just rushed through it an nerfed anything and everything. It looks like they have really rushed through it and nerfed anything that could have the slightest hint of helping you. What are we supposed to do? just be stuck with mediocre spells and abilities that do not much more then just auto attacking? They nerfed backstab for example from 150% to 100%. It was hardly worth it before when it was 150%. Im really happy with what they have done with the POTD changes with more enemies and there incresed stats. Surely they could have just balanced it this way instead of making all items and abilities mediocre? And this also appears to be another erratic, rushed decision. Just like the rushed release with bugs and the difficulty issues. I havent played the game extensively yet becasue of these issues and now i think im going to wait six months when all rest of the game has been released.
  8. im the one trying to make people take a deep breath, apparently critizism isnt allowed on this forum according to fanboys maybe they are from north korea or russia
  9. Like Boeroer said, there is nothing wrong with constructive criticism. I don't know of anyone on the forums who claims the game is perfect, and not bug free. It is not perfect, and it definitely has bugs. It is probably too easy too, the only challenge to be had is if you wander off crit path early and often. But when the criticism is not constructive, is poorly written, and gets repeated over and over and over, it begins to annoy people. Annoyed people are likely to respond negatively. No. It annoys you and you are forcing your opinions onto others. Get over it man let people speak there mind without personally attacking them due to fanboy tendancies
  10. yeah i cant beilive people actually responed to this post and gave the guy the attention he was clearly seaking
  11. this guy never pestered people with personal attacks hes just annoyed that he bought a game that currently is in his opinion broken, and hes not the only one thinking that so just chill out with aggression dude you flamed him he didnt flame you that is very clear
  12. why do people on this forum find it hard to grasp the concept that the game was released buggy as **** and that alot of people would term the game unplayable becasue of the difficulty issues. No need to attack people and call them trolls, haters ect and then do a fanboy gang up on them and cut them down I mean get over it guys just let it go People are obvisouly going to be annoyed that they paid for a product that has the issues i raised above, the game selling charts are currently reflecting that
  13. Hehe, somewhat true. All those harbingers of doom:- The sales figures are so bad (I guess)! - The game is broken (so broken I didn't even touch it, but I read about it in the Daily Mail)! - The game gets released in parts (I assume)! - I'm a miser and somehow it's Obsidian's fault - but I'm here to tell the truth (and insult you while doing so)! - Duh! Being a member of the Harbingers of Doom seems to entail an inability to communicate decently as well. It seems as if as soon as you enroll to the HoD list all manners and dignity get removed, you'll be given a link to a random game forum with the mission to pester as many threads you can with toxic talk and personal attacks. Then after some rambling you will reach the second rank: you'll become a Harbinger of Doom and Daffiness (HoDaD). Nothing wrong with constructive criticism though. The game has some annoying issues. And to some extend I don't get it how those things can pass QA. As I already said a few times: nobody in their right mind expects new, complex software to be bug free - but if I'd let such obvious glitches pass QA I would get (constructively) toasted by customers. Sure, it's not a game then and I would disrupt businesses and cost them money - so the overall motivation to find bugs might be bigger - but still. You only need to play the game for a few hours to encounter reputation and relationship problems etc. And it's true that exploring maps before you got some corresponding quests can mess up things (like I got attacked in the Undercroft because I didn't go to the crime lord first and several quests failed before I could even get them - because I had to kill all those people. Not really a bug but annoying as hell). But all that doesn't break the whole game. I didn't encounter a single crash or other devastating bugs now in 80 hours (and 300+ hours of beta). Only thing that really broke was the Linux version in the early beta - but it was a beta. I play it a bit atm just to get the hang of it - before I will do a serious playthrough. Balancing issues are what trouble me the most, but I'm a PG and don't like to roflstomp the game with even mediocre chars. But despite the balance and the bugs I think it's pretty good overall, not broken. And even if it was broken I wouldn't feel the need to go all Hassknecht about it. you have played 380 hours allready? wtf
  14. yeah i agree backstab is a highly situational ability that requires alot of scarifices to set up, I am completely blown away this has been nerfed. It certainly was no where near overpowered i am seriously stunned and really concerned they have no idea what they are doing currently at obsidian and just "blanket nerfing" the entire game due to laziness of not wanting to spend the time to balance it properly
  15. A Pillars 3 was sort of announced by Faergus a while ago if Deadfire was a "success" aka "meeting expectations". The decision to include fully VO as well as various other overhauls hint at that the target is trying to expand the audience, overall. thats a really good article thanks for that, lets hope it sells well then so they make pillars 3
  16. that cant be right you sure your reading it properly, can you post the item description up the on crit items allways proc on a crit but the target gets a save vs will, fort, ect..... So if you 1. had to hit them on a crit 2. they get a save vs fort 3. then there is only 10% chance it will work after that It would never work
  17. ????? please elaborate? how you no still broken? they did 1000+ fixes this patch I would advise play the game now and then do another playthrough after the 3 expansions have been released How did you count 1000+ fixes lolAnd if you know that many fixes are in place, Why you didn't realize something as important as companion relationship bug has not been fixed yet? That person don't need to elaborate. YOU need to elaborate. I dont NEED to do anything you git Obsidian stated themselves in the patch release that there are over 1000 fixes. go read there patch notes That's a nice FYI from patch note...It's a subtle FYI as we *gain no knowledge* from that number without comparison. 1k known bugs fixed out of how many? And see, you read & remember the patch notes in such detail, that's good, and still you can miss the critical companion relationship issue. Seems the patch notes did not really help users to realize what's fixed and what's not. Seriously, we get much much less info from patch notes than from other sources. Not good. dude wtf are you on about. WHY DONT YOU GO READ THE ACTUAL PACTH NOTES. your sounding like an idiot making all these comments when you havent even seen the patch notes
  18. i dont really see might as being that important now , you wont even notice the extra 20% of its just addative say for the average weapon doing say 15-20 base damage thats only an extra 3 to 4 points of damage, my rogue is consistently critting, backstabbing, sneak attacking and doing deathblows for around 50 to 100 points of damage, points far better of in dex or Per so you can do all of the above quicker and more accurately
  19. No, it was since launch. im pretty sure i saw it the other way around before this patch? could be wrong
