  1. I'm kind of stuck on a planet in No Man's Sky. I was sick of having the same ship for so long, so I grabbed an abandoned and started fixing it up. Little did I realize that you need the Pulse Jet to even launch. Less did I realize that this planet HAS NO ZINC. I can't fix the Pulse Jet. By the time I realized this, my autosaves no longer covered before I switched ships. I scrapped everything in my old ship, so that was no longer an option. Less an option in that I'd walked for 30 minutes and tested summoning the new ship at a beacon. So I can't even find the old ship. So now I'm wandering until I find a store that can sell me some zinc. Then I'm leaving this %#@%@#^ @#^@#%@#%@#@$^ $%^#$^# OF A PLANET AND NEVER LOOKING BACK. Extreme weather planets with constant sentinels are better than this crud. This planet is half water and the swimming in this game is crap, you're literally unable to swim with your head above water. With no fast swimming option, either.
  2. Apparently my local theater has it so you can see a movie before noon for like $6.50. I saw Sausage Party. There's something great here. I think the ending in particular holds something very meaningful, the key to world peace. It's truly great, fun for the whole family, be sure to bring the kids.* *The opinions in this post belong solely to the poster. The Obsidian Forum Community can not be held responsible for anyone taking the ridiculous advice of bringing their children to see the raunchiest Rogen/Goldberg film yet.
  3. Does it feel fun to explore, or do you get the impression it could become kind of boring after a while? Everything gets boring after a while. I can see this doing so, too. But I'm still enjoying hunting down monoliths, learning the languages, and trying to improve my stuff. If you can find a planet you think is beautiful, that can hold you for a while. And that's also something of a continuing draw.
  4. Ghostbusters was still better than Jason Bourne.
  5. I saw Jason Bourne and can't recommend it. But at the same time the Suicide Squad reviews have me afraid it's bad, where Bourne was just boring.
  6. No Man's Sky I didn't imagine things would go so fast in this game. I've travelled like 4 or 5 systems over already. And now my hyperdrive is full to burst with cells, so I can jump another 5 any time I feel like. I've visited a good 9-10 planets, lost my entire inventory once. I thought I'd have an experience of maybe one planet per day. Two. And I could write about it. But it's all flashing by in a blur. I did find a beautiful star system though that I'm going to be spending some time at. Has a nice purple gas cloud hue to it and the planet I've found there so far is a wonderful ice world with snowstorms. Going to a crashed ship after work, probably need to fix it up, but it's got to be an upgrade over the Vector Alpha.
  7. I'm watching Terminator Genisys as we speak on Amazon Prime. In a monster movie, which the Terminator movies tend to be, if the big scary monster is beat up and killed about 5 minutes after it's introduced, it sort of hurts the tension moving forward. The lack of tension sort of hurts the action, too. So I'm not scared, excited, and it's not even interesting time travel. Which might bother me the worst, because the idea of changes appearing in the Terminator cycle is actually a cool concept. But it's more of an excuse for their nonsense than anything else. And yeah, I'm not feeling Clarke's performance here.
  8. My Gwent sets just arrived. That is all.
  9. BoJack Horseman The fact that I had never given this show a fair shake before this week is a poor reflection on you people. Shame.
  10. X-Men Legends 2 for PS2. I bought it back when I realized I really liked Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and never really played it until now. I also gave Marvel Heroes a shot because some people tried claiming it's like Ultimate Alliance. They were liars. Already deleted it after 30 minutes.
  11. Jason Bourne is probably the most mediocre and forgettable action movie I've seen in years. And the third act action scenes were jumpy crap.
  12. I'm not too surprised. Developer forums can be a delicate thing. And with the amount of hate and bile the Bioware boards have had to put up with, it can be easy to see how it would be disheartening to the people in charge. There's enough other places out there that fans can go to discuss things that they can mine for feedback.
  13. Still loving Headlander. Hit an amusing little turn last night that's keeping it from getting repetitive. Hope they have more in store.
  14. This is getting ridiculous. I think the dog is depressed at not seeing the cat around. He was acting lethargic and without an appetite earlier this week. He has plenty of energy if he sees someone behind the house, but inside the house he's a lump lately. I had to put his food into my hand yesterday to get him to eat it. Today he ate like normal, except for the part where he ran to me for pets and affirmation in the middle of it.
  15. Impressions of Head Lander so far. Good fun. The gunplay gets some time to get used to, aiming feels a little slower than I'd like for how hectic things can seem to get, but as I play I get better and learn to adapt. Edit: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 port doesn't seem the best. I, and others, have a sound issue where there's a persistent static and all the game sounds are muffled. And the keyboard didn't work right for me. To quit you go to a menu, click Yes, then press 1 to confirm. Odd for mouse navigation, but it's mimicing the gamepad exactly. Except when confirming quit, it wouldn't quit.
  16. Been playing XCOM again. Sadly, I'm not as lucky as my last playthrough, random deaths are a regular occurence. And some not so random deaths, like that time I activated Mutons, Leapers, and Seekers at the same time. They killed everyone except my Colonel Sniper and Heavy Zhao. The Mutons were on their A flanking game. Sadly, I'll be moving on. Head Lander and Marvel Ultimate Alliance came out today. Given how much time I spent in UA2, I had to buy the bundle and give UA1 another try.
  17. Tried some more XCOM Long War. I've decided I don't like it. Being on my fifth mission with nothing but rookies unable to hit the broad side of a barn is kind of frustrating. I had to deal with an Outsider and it took like 5 rounds because of misses and regen. Blew all my grenades, missed three flanked 80+ shots in a row, my only vet in the group never hit once. I basically had to finish it with suicidal flank attempts. It wasn't exciting. And then I get back to the base and have nothing to look forward to.
  18. My GOTY so far. It has a NG+ mode with new scenes and dialogue. I got spoiled on the broad strokes of that. Looking forward to it.
  19. Oxenfree Holy crap where has this game been all my life?
  20. Excuse the crappy picture. I actually forgot how big he used to be, he lost half that weight. People like to talk about cats as loners, but he was always by my side at home. When he was young, I had to learn never to back my chair up while playing at the computer or I'd hit his tail.
  21. RIP Gizmo Put the cat down today. Vet thinks he had cancer, but he'd taken up eating again. And he "only" threw up once a week. But this past weekend, we got two bouts of throwup in a row, peeing on the carpet, and he stopped eating again. And he was still losing weight, despite how he'd been eating twice as much as he did at his fattest. 6.8 pounds.
  22. You did good.
  23. Stranger Things is up on Netflix. I was sold halfway into the first episode. I'm halfway into episode 3 now and still enjoying it.
  24. Ghostbusters. Someone else described it as the second best Ghostbusters movie. I can agree with that enthusiastically. I really liked it. Had quite a few laughs and was overall impressed with it.
  25. SOMA instantly became one of my favorite games of all times when I played it. I've already double dipped, PS4 and PC. I've been shamefully playing Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth. The characters are fun and charming, which makes it addictive.
