  1. So... am I reading his thread correctly? We can insert our own pics for our characters? Is it as designed by Obsidian? Or mod-like? And is this for main character only? or hirelings as well?
  2. So, do you know that/if some companions are allowed subclasses while others are not? Where does your intelligence (the fbi/cia form of the word) come from? No need for the snark mate, I got the info from Josh Sawyer who's making the game I didn't intend to sound "snarky", I just was curious as to the source of your information (hence the gentle "intelligence (the fbi/cia form of the word)" usage).   3. Why is Obsidian trying to reinvent the wheel? Stay humble, base your mechanics on D&D math, and then tweak it to suit your game's vision. Saves aggravation, time, and money. If it's not broken, don't fix it. Enhance it.

  6. For higher damage? I feel like what Josh trying to say is you don't wear light armor and complain about "not tank enough", because light armor wasn't suppose to be tanky. You get higher DPS but dies more quickly. How does the light armor output more damage exactly?
  7. Disclaimer - I Haven't Played PoE1 How do "Lightning Strikes" work? Also: 1) Talent aspect? 2) Eternal Devotion? 3) Inspired Defences? 4) Zealot Endurance? The PoED resources I've seen (mainly fextralife) have no stats and minimal descriptions... what's the best resource for pre-release character creation? Refer to PoE1 stuff?
  8. Partially ruins immersion for me... Armor definitely needs to influence reloading time imo.
  9. Quick! Think of a word that describes someone who hangs out with you all of the time, but isn’t a friend. “Companion” is already taken. Comrade Actually, daven has a great point imho. The term "sidekick" is off-putting.
  10. Carrot Cake doesn't make sense. I like carrots. I like cake. I DO NOT like Carrot Cake. Disgusting. But, my fiancé loves the stuff! And I love her! Quite the conundrum.

O I C I'm getting a better idea of the atmosphere in this forum From everybody's feedback I conclude that characters can easily switch between melee and ranged attacks without losing much damage per second because both use might, dexterity, and perception to hit and deal damage. Constitution and Resolve determine how squishy they are. Does armor type have any affect on which weapons are used? I.E. Heavy Armor conflicts with Bow?

  13. I've never played Pillars of Eternity One, so please forgive my noobness... Which attributes govern ranged attacks (Bows, Guns, etc.)? It seems to me Pillars does not use the popular system of Strength affecting Melee vs Dexterity affecting Ranged. Does Might (or Strength as rumored), Dexterity, and Perception affect melee and ranged attacks in the same way? Is the Ranger class not even necessarily the best ranged class?

  15. Pre-apology for not knowing the answers to the questions i'm about to ask... I read that there are 7 companions and 4 sidekicks. So there are only going to be 11 choices to fill the four available spots in our party? Are the amount of companions/sidekicks finalized? Are the companions and/or sidekicks customizable? To what extent?
