  1. Theres also a real case of 'the coverup is worse than the crime', or rather, attempts to cover Trumps ass is just making things worse here, especially for something that he keeps saying he 'did nothing wrong' for. If there's nothing wrong with it, why hide it? To top it off, he's admitted to talking about Biden with the Ukraine and keeps saying there's nothing wrong with asking a foriegn country to look into an opponent. If you mean the Steele stuff, it's not even in the same league as what Trump is doing, the DNC asked a private citizen (who had been hired by Republicans previously) while Trump is trying to get the elected leader of another countries government to do his bidding. Do you see the chasm in difference?
  2. I'm confused, Yang will never win the nomination because the two videos make a very good argument for Yang? Krystal Ball clearly supports Yangs position and while the Thorium one is a more technical type discussion, the video makes the case for Thorium (molten salt) reactors. Um, Elizabeth Warren is just as policy detailed, wonky, and IQ as Yang and look how popular she is..... I really don't think Democrats need to dumb it down to 'Hur durr, Thog smash....' levels.
  3. They're claiming that it'll improve air quality or somesuch hyocrisy, nevermind the fact that said California standards were set as a fix for bad air quality in LA particularly (which isn't helped by geography trapping the smog in the area). Plus they've been trying to get around the Californa waivers for a while now, while auto companies cry out for stability.
  4. Doublepost because I didn't see the post until just a min ago, for some reason: Yeah, the thing that it's lacking is the actual content of what was said, but you know, confidential/classified communications. And then theres the whole DNI stonewalling which is activating Dems already suspicious of the Trump admin. I'd also read something that said it appeared that the Ukraine government was trying it's best to not actually comply (though mostly using the excuse of it's already been looked into) or at least slow walk it, which if true, kudos to them at least.
  5. Between California and the Trump admin in particular, yeah. Though it's not dissimilar was it was during Obama and Bush 43, it wasn't as... combative I guess, not publicly in the way it is now anyway.
  6. Or it could be Skarpen playing along with Hoonding being an edgelord.
  7. They're also sending some troops I think, didn't catch the numbers though. Either way, it's something that sends a message and isn't as likely to set off a chain of miscalculations, but the risks of it happening are still high and it does increase the chances of US forces getting caught in the crossfire should Iran (or the Houthis or whoever) try again.
  8. It kind of sounds like it here: While it seems to be implied, you don't explictly say that you believe it's a hoax.
  9. *wishes quotes within quotes worked in here* Inb4 climate change itself destroys kids psyche.
  10. Congrats on the foal. Found an interesting simulation on ranked choice voting for the Dem primary: Data and the simulation. Vox article that discusses it Turns out that whether starting from a slate of all 20 (less now actually, I think it may be 19 now that De Blasio dropped out) or from the top 10 or 5, the resilts were similar each time. Of course, it's just a simulation, it's not neccesarily a sign that Warren will ultimately win.
  11. *looks up danae* Oh yeah, THAT one was the golden rain incident. I suppose they could have sanitized it as falling gold not!rain which isn't rain but falls like rain. Alternatively, they could have left it out because it'd trigger conservatives because of the Virgin Mary-likeness.
  12. I wasn't thinking of the comics, it's just that the ravens are the more well known rather than the wolves. There's also the valkyries, who were heavily, if not directly, associated with Odin.
  13. Thor is the one known for having a beef with giants though, not sure if he had a particular thing against ice giants. Would probably fit the sillyness better too. @gromnir? Eh? Just because he had two crows (or ravens) as scouts doesn't make him a god of carrion. The image does look slightly ominous/mysterious though.
  14. Not Trudeau, that much is clear to me. No idea who the other two mentioned are, so, no clue who he might go for. Though from the earlier post, they sound like weaksauce challengers.
  15. Wasn't it the FBI that leaked the details and not Trump himself? I don't recall Trump getting the blame for that particular incident.
  16. Would definetly be nice if they could rule out Putin though, if only to nip that particular conspiracy wheel in the bud. @Skarpen: You left out the PM of Pakistan (Imran Khan) and the Emir of Qatar (Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani). Named for your benefit Don't know why Putin and Kim Jong-Un were name dropped while the others weren't.
  17. I guess fox doesn't understand the implications of a whistleblower over a promise. Sure, promises are pretty much the bread and butter of politics, but whatever it is, it apparently involves intel (you know, of the cloak and dagger sort) and it was egregious enough that whoever blew the whistle thought it was troubling, Of course, we don't know who the foreign leader was, which leaves the conspiracy wheels free to spin like crazy.
  18. Would Iran allow them to buy Chinese drones though? I mean, I suppose civilian grade drones could have been bought from China, but Iran wouldn't appreciate China messing around with their proxies as far as military grade stuff. Also, the Hong Kong protests would be too recent to be a direct reason for it, it'd just be another reason added to the rest.
  19. Not entirely sure I buy that argument, I also haven't seen anything about that kind of thing in articles I've read about UBI. There may be articles that I haven't read that go deeper into details though. A Vox article I read a few weeks ago made a point about how Alaskas version of UBI has warped it's politics. Granted, it's just at the state level and it got tied to oil, which the state is heavily dependent on, but still, there is that angle as well.
  20. Isn't that more like reverse psychology?
  21. How's this for a conspiracy theory: The Chinese, knowing that attacking Trump will just make him quadruple the tariffs, decided to search for an alternate target. Fortunately Putin had blamed Hillary for meddling with Russia elections some years back, so, she became a perfect target, it also happens to be an election year, so, why not add on Trumps opposition as well? So, of course the Democrats are to blame. Bah, ninja'd by seconds, but I took the more fun pseudo-conspiracy theory route.
  22. Let me emphasize a particular part of that post: Don’t tell me you’re actually taking the state media at their word? i have heard of some of them waving US flags and trying to ge the US’s attention, but that’s all it is, people desperately trying to get Trump to do his damn job and defend democracy.
  23. So, uh, do you actually believe that contorted conspiracy theory or are you s-itposting? Because that’s the most off-the-wall post I’ve ever seen you make.... Haven’t heard anything about them specifically blaming Hillary and Pelosi, but not surprised as they always blame the West for their troubles.
  24. Pfft, that point system sounds like utter bull**** to me.
