Money disapears
Chariot7 replied to Corren's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Did you notice the money missing after a quickload? I've had an issue with multiple daily wages being taken from me after a quickload. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/100504-losing-money-after-quickload/ I'm not sure if my problem is related to yours, though. My save files are too big to upload and I don't have Dropbox. I'm surprised more people haven't encountered this. -
Another odd thing I noticed was how some crew were being paid and some were not being paid. I'm sailing a galleon, which has 13 crew slots, as well as 4 slots for resting crew. On the main sea map, if one hovers over the total copper pire amount in the upper right, it will give a list of crew being paid, what amount they are paid, and the total amount of daily wages paid. The first screenshot shows my ship and what crew are in what positions. The second screenshot shows who is being paid what. Two crew members, Vanizzi and Shieldsister Daelia are shown as being in resting crew slots, yet they are being paid, while my navigator Oswald, and my cook Mother Sharp-Rock, are apparently not being paid. Also, while all my cannoneers are Expert level, Emeini is being paid 5 cp a day and the others are only being paid 4 cp/day. Not game-breaking by any means but I thought I should point it out. I'm most concerned about the money loss bug though.

I was on the island with the Kohopa's Fang dungeon but before I went there I went to investigate the Sun-scorched Valley. I made a QuickSave before entering the area. I wasn't satisfied with my dialogue choices so I hit F8 to QuickLoad. As I loaded onto the overland map I noticed a string of numbers fill the screen on the right-hand side, not unlike when one docks at a port and a number of repairs made and/or medical injuries healed are shown. But this was different, a string of "daily" wages ticked off all at once, at 51 c a tick! I estimate I lost 17,000 c all at once! It was too fast for me to take a screenshot. All I can offer are my system specs and out_log, as my save files are too big to upload and I don't have Dropbox. This has happened before but it was soon after the game's release and I really didn't understand at the time what was happening. Losing 17K is not insignificant and I hope this will be addressed. Thank you. DxDiag.txt output_log.txt

CPU usage and temperature

I have an i7 and GTX 1060 and the heat is outrageous! Funny thing, I played the Backer Beta and had no overheating problems. Hope they get the game optimized sooner rather than later! DxDiag.txt -
Loss of Saves
Chariot7 replied to Townsendvol's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
This just happened to me today, after 77 hours of play. I've been using just 1 hard save and saving over that each time I exit the game. I've never encountered this issue before. I patched my game yesterday and played all day and into the early hours last night, saving my game as usual when quitting. This morning I started playing again, clicking on Continue and starting right where I left off. I played all morning today and into the early afternoon. I decided to quit, hit Escape, clicked on Save Game, and was shocked to see that my hard save was gone. There were only 3 Autosaves and a Quicksave. I was on the beach of Crookspur Island at the time. My only choice was to create a new hard save and check the forums for answers. I looked under Windows/Users/Owner/SavedGames/PillarsofEternityII and my original hard save is just gone; only the 3 autosaves, quicksave and new hard save are listed. I did not have any other programs running besides Malwarebytes in the background, no browser open or anything else. Hope this information is helpful. output_log.txt DxDiag.txt -
curse of nightmares

Palantyre has the right of it. It's not a bug. The debuff is supposed to stack. You can destroy the sigils and/or use a wardstone to protect yourself from the effect. It's a pain, I know, but it's part of the game. Now, if camping or resting doesn't remove the debuff, that's a bug and needs to be looked at. -
I just had some issues with Wild Mind and Brutal Backlash and am not sure if they are working as intended as well. In 2 of the screenshots I loaded below I show how Serafen received 65 Shock Damage in one fight and in the next he received and died from 460 Shock Damage. In the next screenshot Brutal Backlash grazes and hits Eder several times; I didn't know it could hurt other party members and I'm not sure why anyone was damaged by Brutal Backlash in the first place as I was fighting Assassin Vines. Serafen does have the ability Brutal Backlash though. I am using Windows 10. DxDiag.txt output_log.zip

Rather than make a new thread I'll just post my issue with Light of the Dawnstar here. I cannot even get this upgrade, even though I have the item and the money needed to do it. The words "Light of the Dawnstar" are grayed out in the upgrade screen and the Enchant button doesn't work. I am using Windows 10. DxDiag.txt output_log.zip
