Right now I'm using the new republic soldier uniform mod for kotor 1, which IMO is better than that freaky suit that all soldier classes are supposed to wear.

You might want to try the oldblivion mod. It makes the game playable on older cards I hear.

But turning the graphics on low makes the game into Morrowind.

Yeah the 5500 isn't all too hot. Upgrade will be your best bet. Get a 6800 or a 7800 GS
