  1. Windows XP cannot recognize 4 GB of RAM. You'll need either Windows XP 64, or Vista 64 to use that amount of RAM.
  2. You didn't stop to smell the flowers? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Smell-O-Vision isn't out yet
  3. Oblivion is such a boring game. I just run through the forests for 15 minutes then I turn it off.
  4. Wow this is like the best packaging I've ever seen for videocards http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102076
  5. Hmm well the max res is pretty groovy.
  6. LOL that second screen reminds me of Rocky Horror.
  7. Just the 36fps in that one, then, Bok? Time for 8800 SLi ... (or are you waiting for the 8850GX2 two-(laptop)-GPUs-on-a-single-PCI-e-daughter-card-upgrade-of-the=7950GX2, which is rumoured about to be released?) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, time for SLi indeed.
  8. I wish I had a nuclear reactor, it would glow all green and stuff and spew radiation everytime I open the dvd-drive
  9. Been playing Oblivion with hi-res texture mods. I suggest everyone get texture mods
  10. Well the 360 got 3 cores so maybe.
  11. Many modern games take advantage of widescreen, future games are going to have to have widescreen support in order to be a certified "Games for Windows" game. NWN2 is CPU bound, I saw no difference in performance going from a 7800 to an 8800, however putting the conroe in gave the game a real boost.
  12. mkreku's right, conroe or bust.
  13. LOL yeah, my raptor is exposed for viewing, so I get the worst of the noise, which is why I use these
  14. I was referring to desktop LCDs. As for color issues, my widescreen LCD was pretty pale, but many modern video cards provide options for color compensation, such as contrast and digital vibrance (nvidia setting, ati has similar setting called "radiance"). Setting digital vibrance to medium and pulling contrast to 110% got me satisfactory color. The only problem is the lack of true blacks, which kinda sucks when trying to play games in the dark. But it should be resolved with the next LCD generation.
  15. Well for that, you can flip the screen sideways for an uber portrait view, I don't know how many widescreen LCDs support it, but my Dell one does
  16. Umm, which work software? Programs like Word and Excel benefit from the extra real-estate.
