  1. I wouldn't mind if that was the only problem with NWN2's OC. In fact i don't even care about the OC. I'm more interested in guild and faction wars online, and multiplayer party play. With all fo the current bugs though it's unplayable online, and with no database support, my two favorite servers can't use factions so everyone has gone back to NWN1. There are too many things that make this unplayable to me at the moment. btw: When i said "epic" i meant in terms of being immersive in what truely felt like a really big "world" with endless possibilities.. I can't "get into" my character now in the OC, not only did they nerf all of the stats i'm used to, but he looks lame, and fights lame, and i cant even see his stats all in one place like i could before so im not even sure what if anything has improved from the level before. When I finally devoted hours to playing it felt like i was fighting the controls more than i was the hostiles. I finally got pretty far into the game, but seriosuly just got sick of it all in Neverwinter after my 6th job for the thieves. An example is, there is one area where i was supposed to go and do a job "stealthy" (an assassination) , so i possessed Neeshka to try and do the job and told everyone esle to stay behind, so I'm sneaking into this place and suddenly my party (who i told to stay behind) appears there and blows my cover, they come ambling in like clods and dullards and ruined my stealth job. So there really was no way to do the job "stealthy" as Axle preffered, and I had to just hack n slash. That's just one annoying example out of thousands really. I never really enjoyed the combat sequences because A. the controls are so scattered around I was forced to pause excessivly for each battle no matter how trivial B. I never really believed I was watching a D&D battle but rather puppets fighting crash test dummies and the spell casting was like throwing colored dye and diesel fuel on each other and you never knew which spell was which. Nothing is solid or distinguishable about moves or combat damage. Like I never knew when i landed a critical or not. C. It was increasingly difficult to identify spell types because they all looked so simillar or they were all so damn big and washed out details. D. All of the buff icons look the same as green little squares and I cant tell on the fly how "buffed" i am. These are just some examples of why im so frustrated i stopped playing.
  2. Call it what you will but NWN1 was pretty epic, and a huge success.
  3. I remember the community for NWN1 release. I was there (MordredsGhost) and don't remember it ever getting so much negative feedback as NWN2 is getting now. There were some bug complaints sure, but moreover the community was blown away by what i remember NWN1 being described as "Diablo for the new millennium".
  4. I agree with much of what he has to say, especially: An indication that he isn't alone in this thinking is the overwhelming protest by most members at the Bioware forums. The moderators made two different stickied threads, 1 for the satisfied and one for the disappointed. The satisfied thread (Fine Wine) is still in thread 1, while the dissapointed thread (Sour Grapes) is well into thread 2 and approaching thread 3. Which of course is telling that at least double the people at the bioware forums are disappointed in someway with NWN2. :'(
  5. But not if UV mapped right? And what of models? Do you know of how CEP team might be restricted with actual models in NWN2 that they werent in NWN1?
  6. I know how to create textures just fine, but how to apply them in NWN2? In KotoR II i simply found and replaced the skin file for heads, and armor sets - actually altered existing ones. Is it this simple in NWN2? And what about Models? I heard those were restricted or something? The reason I ask is because I'd liek to replace some of the Dire animals with models I would make in Zbrush and Mudbox.
  7. ok forget radial menus for a sec but you have to admit the new ui in general is pretty lame. the icons that show your buffs are too small and indistinguishable to tell just what buffs you have, you cant put combat modes in your quickslot and they are way off in the corner, the talk menu is massive and cant be resized, the right click is delayed and you can no longer left click or hover to get much of the same info. To me the the new ui is pretty bad.
  8. The old NWN1 Radial menu was a thing of masterfulness and excellence, and whoever thinks the NWN2 ui is good..obviously doesnt play online PW or MMORPG style Adventure/PVP. The new UI is much harder to use.
  9. Look for a minute i'll put aside my frustrations with some of the aesthetic qualities of the PC's - seriously is anyone else kinda thinking what I am about the Hero movement like he/she has a broken wheel? And the spell casting animations look like a special olympian bowling? When my Tiefling cheers for example it looks like he's heaving hay bails not actually cheering. Just some odd amimations. Maybe my biggest problem with NWN2 of all is the Buffs spells VFX - why is it 1 dimensional..like the Obsidian 3D guy in charge of those is 12 years old and just plopped some vfx on a circle shape and threw it on your hero to fire on cast. Remember the Spell resist buff VFX in NWN1? It was 3 dimensional and encompassed your body from all angles of camera. The buffs now are flat?..

  11. The gameplay is there, the scenery is nice, i'm sure the score will eventually be up to snuff, and most of the NPC's look decent enough, but we're not talking about any of that - we're talking about the one black eye on this game so far. For me and clearly others, it's the poorly modeled PC heads and limited options to what Obsidina has claimed what the entire game is built around. If the entire game is built around the hero, why then so limited options to making them unique? I don't know how many of you have actually been using the presale toolset but many of the humanoid faces look very underdeveloped.
  12. How about just faces that look less like crash test dummies? Imagine that!
  13. I think that's what he's saying. At 1% he would'nt mind if they were a black splotch nevermind a distinguishable humanoid. I've been doodling too, and he has a point, they all have blank looking stares and flat featureless faces. <_<
  14. So I'm a fanboy becuase I didn't like this pixelated head Hero Headshot NWN2 and stressed the importance of overall vision and style ? You jumped on the bandwagon and fell off as soon as you got on. If you were a trial lawyer, and this was your case evidence, you'd be court appointed in a laughable tax bracket. Back to the drawing board you go.
  15. You got me there, I'm a "fanboy" indeed. With all 13 of my posts in the Obsidian forums to your 4,000 + posts ..lol.
  16. Outside of the low poly models, I thought the halflings, dwarves and ogres looked like every illustration or painting I'd seen on them up to NWN's release.
  17. You aren't very good at sarcasm. On a side note - Do these needlessly wordy rants usually work for you? Because it isn't now.
  18. I don't own any dice, do you? And yeah because that whole "you're gay" thing wasn't stale enough or anything. I actually didn't start "flaming" in this place at all. A few took exception to my words and instead of debating diplomatically, started hurling grade school barbs like so much monkey dung.
  19. Sick of KotoR II TSL now even with disguised characters and my own reskins. Sick of Warhammer 40K Winter Assault. Sick of Age of Empires II & III and Age of Mythology. Sick of Call of Duty and United Offensive Sick of NWN, SoU, and HotU (after years of playing non-stop on three of best servers hosting) About to try Republic Commando.
