  1. Re: Obsidian and crunch, I think Josh mentioned somewhere that Neverwinter Nights 2 was a deathmarch, and it was during that period that he also decided to change the work ethic at Obsidian and avoid crunch at all costs. In that talk he does mention some specific people during Fallout: New Vegas may have crunched, but he avoided the practice where possible and for the most part that game and others since have been done with no crunch.
  2. People seem to be mixing up overtime or sprinting with crunch. Overtime isn't crunch, and is also not really the problem when used appropriately for sprints or the likes. Crunch is overtime spread over a long period of time, to the point it becomes detrimental to the workforce and production. So, for instance, two weeks working 60+h per week isn't crunch, that's a sprint. 60+h per week over the course of three months isn't a sprint, it's crunch.
  3. RIP to a master. One of the most unique and out there vocalists.
  4. SOPHIE, a major pop innovator and trans icon, died this week aged 34. RIP
  5. The Miles Davis is an archival live release from a 1969 concert. You might say it's cheating to include it in a 2020 list considering it's a 50+ year old recording, but really, it's so good it deserves a mention of its own. And yeah, most of these acts are fairly obscure or underground, certainly scraped the bottom of the barrel to get to some of them, but I do think these records are all very good and ones I would recommend. On the link there's a series of genres for each of the records, in case any of them call out to you and you'd be intrigued about checking them out! Also certainly not all artists on the list are unknowns - there's the likes of Run the Jewels, Kylie Minogue, Lianne La Havas, Jessie Ware, Kali Uchis, Charli XCX and others who've all had pretty huge hits this year and in the past!
  6. With the year coming to a close, here's my top 80 albums of 2020 https://rateyourmusic.com/list/algroth_89/top-80-2020/
  7. Chris Davis is spot on with his comments on YouTubers and critics here. Go off.

  13. This is on point, really. A perfect outline of a lot of the issues with DC and the superhero genre in general, as well as a lot of the hardcore fanbase.

  17. You say this, but all throughout the year we've been seeing how easy it is for his flock to "ease" on their belief of freedom so long as it aids their Trumpist views. Right now they seem very eager to veto the election altogether so long as they win and the libs are owned.
  18. There's also this assumption going on by people calling for media bias to the left that there aren't also several outlets and large mainstream media channels that skew squarely conservative and Republican, chief of them Fox News. This fearmongering about the one-sidedness of the press and the erosion of freedom of speech is completely baseless.
  19. On the subject of those alleged "red flags", is it so crazy to think that one of the most polarizing presidents in recent memory in the midst of a national crisis would prompt a far greater turnout than usual? And is it so hard to believe that a candidate that has done his utmost to undermine and discourage mail-in and early voting see mail-in and early votes squarely favouring the opposition? This whole thin argument for fraud is by design. Trump was actively creating the condition for these discrepancies so he could call fraud where there was none. The barest application of common sense can see through his bull****.
  20. What concerns me is that Trump Jr. is already going out and calling for violence over the election. Even if Trump is kicked out, a single message condoning a violent reprisal from his behalf against the Dems could be the spark to provoke several Kyle Rittenhouses all over the country.
