  1. I add my voice (because you never know when the penetration of this forum will bypass the armor of Obsidian ) for the main problem of the Beta for me : SLOW MODE The pace of combat is clearly toooooo fast and without slow mode, i will surely not play the game at all. Why not add a feature to show the number of log line by seconds. That could be fun to show !
  2. The per rest system work better for me. With the POE2 system, you will always ending using the same spells and it will become a little boring. I like to administrate my pool of spells and to use discover other way to win when i have no more shadowflame/returning storm/devotions Once more (as for the abilities/talents tree problem), it's less choice and strategic thinking. Sure, the per rest need some tweaking (2 camps in potd is a bit low) but you don't need to throw it all like that.
  3. I completely agree with theBaltahazar. It's all about choice. Because this basically what is a RPG game in the end. Even if you put aside the efficiency of the character, reducing the choice of abilities impact the Role Playing part of the game. An example: in POE1, you could take superior deflection for +5 deflection. We all agree it's not a game breaker ability (and honestly i almost never take it). But if YOU want to play a more bulky character, YOU could do it.
  4. You can still use new spells you find in Grimoires, and switch Grimoires before a difficult fight to switch up your spells. There's a better Grimoire than the one your wizard starts with near Tikawara, which you should probably pick up before doing the dungeon on a high difficulty. Ok i don't know this. Thanks for the information.
  5. I haven't played a lot but i have already some thins to tell : --- The combat speed is just underwhelming. For my point of view, it's almost unplayable at this time. I'm an veteran of POE1 with many POTD run (solo etc...) and i struggle to win a fight in normal difficulty Perhaps i need to start in story mode (can't believe i write this ). This is a really game breaker for me. Please, please, i need a slow mode and not a Benny Hill mode ! --- Spell casting increase. It's a really big downgrade from POE1. At this time, casting any spell is really difficult (and i don't talk about crowd control). And i think the chanter invocations recovery time has been increased too (i have to do some more tests). - Spells as abilities the wizard. No more flexibility to choose your spells before a difficult fight. No more spell books to found (so sad)... +/- The new penetration system is a bit strange. I really don't like threshold system. I still have to understand it. +/- I add my voice to the crowd for reclaiming more flexibility in the character creation. Common abilities could be nice. But i have yet to test the multi-class system. Clearly single class is a NO choice for an experience player actually. ++ Graphics, UI, many good things there
  6. The multi-classing is a great unknown on many aspects of the game. What about a Druid Stag Carnage / Barbarian ? I doubt there will be double carnage applied...
  7. Oh yes i forgot druid/barbarian. Sure it will be painful Let's hope we will have opponents with also take advantage of all these wonderful combinations. I have to check in the board if there is any news about an upgrade of the difficulty in POE2.
  8. I prefer not dump anything for a solo build, but well in normal difficulty you should not have any problem. Just keep in mind that with a dump CON/RES character, you have the offensive and you have to CC the enemies first (with storms etc...). For the potions, well i'm not and expert but potion of deleterious alacrity of motion and potion of infuse of vital essence came to mind. Boerer is right for the low CON, wound binding could be a good idea. I have played many runs with the druid but i have never checked the duration of the wildstrike belt. Good to know !
  9. You will regret INT so low for your spells (Calling the World's Maw/Relentless Storm...) The regeneration path of Boeroer is a good one. A more offensive version is to max DEX/PER, min CON/RES, max survival (for the movement bonus). The Cat is faster, but the Boar is really good too. For a solo, i choose the boar anytime. For the abilities, check the thundercat build if you rely mainly on spiritshift. I suppose you play in normal difficulty ?
  10. Clearly Druid/Monk or Druid/Rogue could be a beast on the field As if the druid was not already overpowered !
  11. No you cant summon reaping knives on a spiritshifted druid. If the druid has the knives, they disappear when he's transform. Tested on 3.06.
  12. Yeah too much storms ruins every fight. Actually, i challenge myself by playing each class in a trio (potd) : - Actual run : druid/priest/ranger. Really too easy, the duid buffed by the priest blow it all. - Next run : i think wizard/barbarian/cipher. No priest will be a big (and painful) step forward - And after : monk/chanter/paladin
  13. If you want max dialogue options, you have to focus on res/might/int so the i'd say Barb is better than ranger (who has no need of resolve usually).
  14. With these class i will do this : - Barb : tank like you, focus on interupting ennemies - Druid : Offtank that cast storm, form of the delemgan, world's maw.... Specialize in spritishift. - Wizard: debuff. As you have no Priest, you can't buff yourself, so your main goal is to debuff the enemy. The wizard is really good in this role. Dump might, full int/per/dex. - Rogue: i will switch to a ranged Rogue (warbow). With all the debuff from the Druid and the wizard, it could be your main damage dealer. In my mind, playing without a priest in potd is adding a level. I have to try one day
  15. For a first run, i suggest Eder (for a second tank and not much micro-management) ans Durance (a priest is always useful for removing annoying debuff).
  16. Yes the Boar Druid is really good too. Especially if you have a pet's ranger with Predator's Sense. Slower than the cat, but more resilient. It depends of you play style.
  17. For my first post and after many POTD run, i think that the offense way is better that defense / passive. The goal of my team is to disable, break the enemies before they engaged So my team will consist of : 1. Druid / CatForm / Burn specialization 2. Druid / CatForm / Shock specialization 3. Berath Priest with Tidefall for the buff and some melee if needed 4. Wizard (CC/Damage) 5. StormCaller Ranger (More Storm !!! and the companion with infinite health) 6. Whatever A classical fight will be then : Devotions for the faithful / Inspiring Radiance / Relentless Storm / Calling the World's Maw / ShadowFlame After that, let's loose the Cat (best dps in the game?) and it's over You can surely add a Chanter/Dragon/Tank or a wizard for more CC
