  1. What did Nordstrom say?
  2. (My opinion) 1. Should, in a political discussion, the focus lie on the individual and his rights or society as a whole and its problems? (Society primarily) 2. Does society need a high degree of hierarchy to properly function? (No, not at all on a small scale. In big societies an absolute minimum) 3. Are people ultimately most divided by religion and/or culture, race, nationality or class? (Class) 4. Do we need to protect our culture from others or can we perhaps even benefit from them? (Benefit, mostly) 5. Is global warming an issue we should focus on? (Yes, but mostly through reform of the industry not by forcing behavioural patterns on the customer) 6. Is social inequality an issue we should focus on? (Yes) 7. Flat or progressive taxes? (Progressive) 8. Big or small government? (Big(ish)) 9. "In our society today, the equality of genders, race and spiritual belief is not fully guaranteed" Do you agree with this statement, and should government intervene here? (To some extent, I think we're getting there (towards the lack of equality) at the moment. We need to work against that) 10. Direct democracy? (Yes) 11. "I respect all other opinions and belief systems, an they should be respected" do. you agree with this statement? (No... Believe what you want but don't expect respect if you're in the KKK) 12. Regarding criminals, should we focus on rehabilitation or punishment? (Rehab) 15. Are we to teach our countries history in a critical or positive light towards our children? (Critical) 16. Should religious beliefs be taught in or affect our education system? (No) 17. Should same sex couples be allowed to a) marry? b) adopt? (Yes and yes) 18. Should abortion be legal (after x months)? (Yes and always) 19. "Ultimately, workers unions are a benefit" do you agree with this statement? (Yes) 20. "Nationalism can easily lead to fascism" do you agree with this statement? (Amongst other things, but yes )
  3. So Deus Vult then? Oh mai :3Hominem non deus vult. Heck, I'm not even a Christian. I'm just pointing out a contradiction.
  4. You do it with literally every topic. You draw these parallels, not because its accurate but because its your only point of reference. What makes it painful to read is its also evident that despite being your only point of reference you don't know the topic particularly well. Then I recommend you correct me, not shame me. Criticism taken. I'll do it only when necessary in the future. Happy? I've said it before... as long as Breitbart is a valid point of view, I'll be spamming with communism
  5. My point We're on the same page here
  6. Lenin was just as ruthless as Stalin. Even more if his colleagues (i.e. Molotov) are to be believed. And ffs, must you degenerate every conversation into a discussion on communism. Go to /leftypol/. "Degenerate"... the parallels between the red scare and islamophobia are so obvious it'd be dumb not to inspect them
  7. I'm suggesting you an open mind and a differentiation between Islam and terrorism. I'm asking you not to be blinded by unreasonable fear. I'm begging you to be a brother to everyone. Christian culture you are so vigorously defending seems to be on my side.
  8. Indeed, we shouldn't allow another Lenin, Mao or Stalin to get to power, that would be a mistake. Are you suggesting a new Monroe doctrine perhaps?I'm referring to the way we treated communism. We shouldn't have another red scare or another blacklist (which is, considering Mr Trumps actions, not too far of a call). Besides, don't put Lenin on the same level like Stalin.
  9. Do you have any idea how disgusting that is to say? There are people suffering. We all have no idea of the agony they have to go through. All they ask for is a second shot at life, and you are denying it out of some self righteous egocentric mindset? Do they care to pay my bills? earn my food? Did they care, when i had health issues? Did they care when I was moving around the world and struggling with local legal systems to get my papers? Did anyone cared? This argument is utterly useless. Are you seriously saying you won't help them now, that they are at your doorstep, because they didn't help you, when you were hundreds of kilometres apart? I'll watch. Let's see if the magnitude of your problems indeed requires international cooperation to solve. as a self righteous kid, I am legally incapable of adopting a child. I also don't think I'm qualified to raise one. That's noble. But you see, this problem is a bit of a larger scale than "burden others with your own problems". It is a historical event. We as a society are deciding right now how we will be remembered. And we are decided wether we are indeed the free, humanitarian society we like to say we are or if we actually just are another bunch of introverted nationalists. Islam is the new communism. I recommend we don't make the same mistakes. Learn from history, remember?
  10. And anyone who says differently is fake news.
  11. Indeed. Germans are ALWAYS on time
  12. I think you missed this: https://infogr.am/63af14ef-8711-4002-b384-e6058ce56643 Well it's not going because beside the SJW that are only helping through internet memes and Facebook likes there are people who actually do help. nevermind Sorry
  13. Welcome theacefes to the way off topic section, the place of sometimes awkward political debate. Na, but really... hi
  14. Wow. The "Refugee Welcome" Austria on second place? Did not see that coming. Why not, maybe they remember their high school history classes. Education might still be a thing in Austria. Well they didn't remembered couple months ago. I hope they wont count on Polish cavalry again.... It's not going so well as we can all see. And if you don't stop the conflict there and then it will spread to another country and another country and soon enough we will be making Benny Hill runs around the globe. Not going so well? The criminals aside, the vast majority are integrated excellently And it won't go go around the globe... they're already loosing now
  15. "And really Ben, those people lost their homes, their families, their friends. There is no "good life" for them, we can only ease the pain and help them recover." And we can do that far easier here, where they are at least safe
  16. Their "holy book" isn't a cause... anything can get radicalised And no the US isn't evil, they just messed up
  17. Great start to have a fraud story of a child corpse on the beach as a symbol You can help all this people on the site. Provide safe zones, shelters, food etc. Your point that there is only send military/import refugees choice is really narrow. Because they'll be able to live a good life in some "safe" zone in Syria dependent on constant food supply?
  18. Ah sorry I misunderstood But I think so did you. I was only ponting out that western involvement in the Middle East is a big cause for the creation of ISIS, historically speaking. Wasn't saying we shouldn't do anything about it. I was saying we should focus more on helping the refugees than fighting ISIS or Assad.
  19. The day we were (partially) on the same page
  20. I am not quite sure what your trying to say here... you realise not all refugees are rapists?
  21. Actually, she's in the Conservative party
  22. The first picture you posted was staged. The guy who took that picture moved the body of this boy to make it more dramatic. But we agree that the boy did infact die fleeing from war?Nope. Please google the story. In short he was already out of war in a refugee safe zone in another country. But his dad wanted to have new teeth to hit on western women and because they didn't provide dental to such extent he took his family on a shabby boat trip. Provide help in the place when it's needed. There are numerous methods to help the people win their country back from aggressors. The boy is a symbol. No one cares about the actual boy. Kinda like the Tank Man. Regarding your proposal on how to help... I think we've seen often enough that a strictly military answer is not an answer. Besides what about those who don't want to fight and just want to get out of this hell? What about those who are already displaced? Send them back? Oh please
  23. Denying help? Who said that letting immigrants in your country is helping or that's the only way to help?Their country is broken, partially due to our involvement. We also live in some of te richest countries on earth, so we can take it.But Bennie those pictures are from Syria? The West is not responsible as the civil war was caused by the Arab Spring and the refusal of Assad to be more inclusive of his own people, why do you think the West needs to take moral responsibility ? And then Russia is responsible for the bombing of Aleppo....you should be blaming them ?Shush Bruce, don't break his spirit. He is so young! I think we can just about agree on the very poor history of western involvement in the Middle East? Because there is NO OTHER GROUP but Assad in the Middle East conducting killings? NO ONE ELSE that is perhaps even more radical and brutal? NO DANGEROUS EXTREMISTS that maybe grew strong due to te way we treated the Middle East? NO ARMED MILITIA running around with the weapons we left behind? NO RADICALS feeding on the chaos we created? IS THERE REALLY NO ONE?
  24. The first picture you posted was staged. The guy who took that picture moved the body of this boy to make it more dramatic. But we agree that the boy did infact die fleeing from war? And I already said that taking in refugees doesn't equal helping. Then what? "ancient Egypt" came up... keeping in mind that the consideration of the use of such a useless example was referenced, obtaining a trump syndrome was highly immature. as much as I'd like to respect this state of mind of yours, your immensely vague idea of how societies should work is not ideal for some who after all do have some common sense. To answer the question, "Should I now suddenly feel bad that I could not save ancient Egypt?", no, you shouldn't, because that's unrealistic. Now l, should you feel bad for not saving and/or helping refugees? yes, because these people are in fact alive at the same period of time as you are and need saving, not hating. The refugees don't need to "destroy your Christian values". You already did that on your own. Gone is forgiveness and love, say hello to hate and fear.
  25. No kid. Using human suffering to push your political agenda is disgusting. Using a staged pictures of dead kids that died because their father wanted a new set of teeth to force your political agenda is disgusting.Basically using children as a tool in political debate is despicable. Staged pictures? Those pictures are real. The suffering is real. If you can't handle it, I'm sorry. ill put a trigger warning there next time just for you... "ATTENTION! Some might not be able to distinguish between evil Marxist political agenda and a desire to help! BEWARE!!!" Oh really, but you are perfectly inclined to say that we do nothing when you don't know a thing about what we do? Are you incapable of sniffing your own hypocrisy young lad?Weren't you the one linking articles that celebrated not taking jn refugees?
