  1. Well, as a ceritfied Class A Alien version 2.6 (BetaSquad edition) myself, I have to tell you that this is the most correct answer so far on this topic. Very good guesses all around, but you were all off by just a tad. Must be the puny 3 Dimentions you are confined to. We have 5...thousand. Btw, have any of you read the short story 'The Road Not Taken' by Harry Turtledove? It has a very unique view on the whole idea of how alien life might have evolved. But then again, so does 'Devolution', 'Dark They Were, and Golden-Eyed', and 'One' (Not all by that author of course, but all as thought provoking)
  2. Once again... Neither.
  3. I couldn't find a copy of the complete first season anywhere nearby, but I did pick up a copy of "Farscape: Best of the First Season" I've watched 3 of the 6 episodes. My analysis: Holy crap. I love this show. How did I miss this show when it came out?! You find out about the strangest things from the oddest places. Phosphor, thanks for the tip. I only wish that the Farscape DVDs weren't so overpriced. Now I'm going to look around for some of the complete collections for rent. This show is just that good.
  4. I've never heard of this show, but it sounds really good. I think I once saw one episode of this show a long time ago, and it was interesting to watch, but I never found out what the name of the show was. If I buy a season, what season should a newcomer watch? Should I start at the beginning or is that not required to understand the plot/characters?
  5. If your avatar looks like you, then it might not be your frown they are running from... (j/k) On topic: No!!! The US men's fencing team were SO close to the Bronze metal win...
  6. I love fencing, been doing it for about 3 years (only gone to about 4 competitions, and yet I somehow got to the US Summer Nationals ) I prefer foil, although I can fence in epee or sabre if I have to for some odd reason, but I'm only good at foil. I'm not great, but decent for a U (the lowest level fencer, U stands for Unranked) I can't talk, I'm a suburban wimp. My plan for fending of an intruder is...um...give me a second here....carry a shotgun?
  7. Loki would own. For a moment, forget about the fact that he spent the last eternity with a snake dripping poison over his head. He is a master trickster, and if fighting came around, he could convince some other god to act as a bodyguard (Thor is out of the question, but Ares could make a fine sub). Well, all of the gods would probably split into five hundred factions and duke it out to the death, right? Well, Loki could just stay on the sidelines and goad them on. "Zeus, did you here that Thor called your robe a dress?" "Hey Hera! Zeus is getting it on with Odin in the back room! I think he's cheating on you again!" "Hey Giants! Look at that! Hercules is dead! No more invincible hero to save the Gods this time! Go get em!" And so on until everyone is almost dead, and Loki gets Aphrodite (sp?). He wouldn't even have to lift a finger, and if any thunderbolts come his way he could just get Ares or some other stupid god to jump in the way. B)
  8. ^ One down, 1,734 to go... All the Lims Lims need is a cult, and then the master plan can be set in motion. B)
  9. I got really lucky with PS:T. Found it used in EB games for about $5, just before Interplay closed and it became worth $60. Only game I have played ever since. Lucky me. For a more accurate decription of the Lim Lim, they are these tiny little frog like things that can jump fifty feet in the air. You can buy one as a pet. At one point in the game, a Limlim is summoned by a group of wizards, and it promtly devours them all. That is why the Lim Lim rules all. They are mean, green, small enough to sever your hamstrings, and are vicious. I'm afraid of what they would do to a gizka.
  10. Lim Lims are the crazy go nuts hopping bad boys of Planescape:torment. Nothing save really high explosives can destroy them. Nothing. Lim Lims own all. This isn't a match, its a massacre.
  11. I remember seeing that to. It was seriously funny, but I wouldn't say it was the best ever. It's weird, I remember seeing it once, but I can't remember where...strange.
  12. I think that the Star Wars Ganster Rap deserves an honorable mention at least. For those who haven't seen it, here is a link: http://www.nerdie.com/starwars.html
  13. Its happened here to: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=1901 Of course, it is only in one topic, and I wouldn't really call this a star wars forum. Its more of a gaming forum with some star wars based stuff. Good forum, though, in my opinion.
  14. So if somebody wrote a great story with interesting characters set in New Jersey in 1987, it would be the same style as Plasescape: Torment? Now thats an idea with promise! Just as long as the setting is as unique as PS:T, I'm happy. Say, for example, you took New Jersey in 1987. Say in an alternate reality, a terrorist cell in New Jersey (stay with me here) discovers the notes of a man who can travel into other realities (say, Norse myths). They use these notes to construct a method of getting into Norse Myths, to summon the gods to wreak unheard of chaos on the US. However, they open this portal at just the wroong time, during Ragnarok. All the gods, giants, and other folks from the Ragnarok spill into New Jersey, and you, an civilian, has to figure out what the f*** jut happened. In the same style of PS:T, if you really wanted to mold the story in that direction. See? A good story idea is easy to make from any setting, but if that story has dull, uninspired plot, archetypical characters, and gameplay to rival Pong and Pacman, then even if it is as cool a setting as PS:T, it is still crap.
