  1. Good thing you didn't pay me to make you a complete game then.
  2. And still no AD4. Watched the Q + A stream recording and I'm glad I didn't watch it live as more than half of it was just a tutorial walk-through. When it finally got to the Q + A portion, they never once addressed when AD4 was being released other than 'soon'. They've been saying it for a third of a year!
  3. More than half of the stream was a tutorial walk-through which definitely should have been prerecorded instead of streamed live!
  4. I find it funny how Obsidian is spinning AD4 being 'just weeks away' as exciting news.... Because it's not. I like that they're adding all cool effects and more fluff but AD4 was supposed to be out in June. Nothing to do now but wait as always but please don't insult players who have been waiting months for AD4 by spinning it as good news. What's worse is there is still no solid date. Weeks could mean anything from 2 weeks to who knows.
  5. I understand the logic of going after the phone market. But wouldn't it be better to present the phone market with a fully fleshed adventure that can be purchased right off the bat? As of now, they are still presenting the market with an incomplete implementation of a card game that has been out for years. Plus, it can't be that hard to make AD4+ can it? The system is already in place. Maybe they are overhauling the system to make it robust to future expansion, and that's what's taking so long... The system HAS already been overhauled. The whole game definitely runs smoother than the first few versions. That's a good thing. HOWEVER, that was in July. They said this overhaul was needed and that ADs 4 - 6 would be released much faster now that the overhaul has been made. Still nothing though. I'm pretty sure Obsidian has made an executive decision to put ADs 4 - 6 in the back-bench for the time being. Why? Because the phone market have not been waiting 4 months for more content! To hell with tablet users - we were just the guinea pigs doing the beta-testing for them.
  6. Notice how just because Obsidian released patch 1.1.3 and an advertisement for the game that there is no mention of when AD4 will be released? 3 months has turned to 4 and soon it will be half a year. Months ago, Flounder, one of the developers, said bugs were the cause of the delay but they've fixed it and ADs 4, 5 and 6 will be released faster. Seems like hogwash. Only thing we've gotten in terms of new content are new dice skins and lies.
  7. So pretty much what you're saying is we're Obsidian's beta-testers/QA and I agree. I've been feeling we, the tablet-users, are the guinea pigs and ultimately, not very important in the big picture. However, there's a big difference between Obsidian and Blizzard. Blizzard is arguably the current leader in PC entertainment - they have a best-selling game in almost every game genre on the market with Overwatch, Hearthstone, Diablo, Starcraft and of course World of Warcraft. Obsidian, on the other hand, though not a small-time company, doesn't have even a tenth of Blizzard's resources. Plus it's not like Pathfinder Adventure is built for PVP or competitive play. Obsidian tried to make micro-transactions appealing to players but the thought of buying a chest so that you can unlock cards so that you can later find in game isn't exactly appealing to most people. It just doesn't suck people in like buying boosters in Hearthstone. Plus half the cards you unlock in chests cannot even be used yet cos half the game's still missing.
  8. You know I would be fine with waiting for more content except for one thing - Obsidian promised regular content. They promised monthly AD releases. Then they broke that promise citing unforeseen bugs. They said 1 month more by end of July. Promise broken again due to wtf moments. 'Believe us when we say August'. Crickets chirping and tumbleweeds rolling. Still NOTHING except for different coloured dice, less use of in-game currency and more bugs. Bottom line is Obsidian LIED and some of you guys are fine with believing the same lie over and over again.
  9. I still really like it. I'm lucky that I've not had any game-breaking bugs but I really want to do MORE in this game. As of now, I have finished the currently available ADs on Legendary with 5 6-man parties. it's so stupid that Obsidian lets us finally prestige with AD3 then take a 4+ month break with nothing to do with these new prestiged characters except replay old scenarios on varying difficulties. It just feels like they've taken existing tablet players for granted. I think sales have shown that tablet users don't generate enough revenue for them so they're gonna ignore us to focus on grabbing new players who HOPEFULLY give them more money. As of version 1.1.3, phone users have NOT been waiting 4+ months for new content so I think they've reset their timer on AD4.
  10. I wish I was as optimistic as you. As of now, I am not confident the current development team has the skills and resources necessary to create the sequels. If they're having a hard time with RotR, imagine how they'll fare when they have to program ships or mythic paths.
  11. This is exactly my fear, and it's why I created the "Health of the Game?" thread. It is not heartening that none of the devs have responded to it, to-date. They won't as nothing positive will come from it. They KNOW the game is not doing well and they know that we know.
  12. You're not the only one frustrated with the delays. I also shelled out AUD$40 for the bundle. Calling it a season pass isn't actually correct as the Adventure Decks aren't DLC but a big part of the game. Without them, it's pretty much just a tutorial. As of the 10th of September, half of the game is still missing.
  13. Yes that is right. If Obsidian had stuck to their word, the AP would have been complete in August. Yet the game is still buggy as hell and only half complete. Are there actually grounds to request a refund? Not that I would because I still want this game to succeed but it feels like there's something more behind the scenes which us players aren't aware of. As I have said earlier, there have been 9 patches since AD3 was released, most to address bugs. Everytime Obsidian has apologised for AD4 being delayed, they have cited unexpected bugs. Same excuse for 3+ months now and it's gotten to the point where I believe they are either being dishonest or plain incompetent.
  14. here's a crazy tin-foil hat level theory on why we're seeing more bugs than content. The game is not making any money. So the team will be dismissed once they deliver the content promised. Thus if they manage to stretch out delivery of the remaining adventure decks for another 6 months, they have 6 months of job security. Is this paranoid enough? ) At this moment, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case with how things are looking for the game. The way they are pushing the 'freemium' aspect of the game is indicative that they need the game to make more money. But despite the dice skins and any other aesthetic-changing add-ons they offer, what really deters me from spending any more money buying chests is that HALF the stuff I open in them cannot be used yet because HALF the game is still missing! It infuriates me when I open a kick-ass AD6 Axe only to realise that I won't be able to use it until next year.
  15. 9th patch after AD3 was released and still no AD4. Shows you how '2 steps forward, 3 steps back' this game is - every patch they release creates more bugs for them to fix. More excuses for Obsidian to not release new content to those who like me who foolishly bought the full bundle on Day 1. I'm surprised the higher-ups haven't pulled the plug on this game. Releasing it on phones in its current state is going to expose more people to how poorly this game has been handled. More people will complain about more bugs which 'forces' the developers to focus on them before more content will be released. Seems like a never-ending cycle of disappointment.
  16. I'm also really curious as to how messed up your base program must be to have so many bugs which caused something meant to be released in a month to be more than 3 times that. I know the development team is small (like 3-5 people) but still, Obsidian is not a small name company, with Neverwinter Nights 2 and South Park - Stick of Truth under their belts.
  17. That's pretty much how I feel too. I'm not exactly cheering on missed release dates, but there's enough happening in my life that I can put Pathfinder down every now and then and not feel like something's missing. It somewhat reminds me of playing the physical game. Run through a couple adventure decks with friends...., wait a bunch of months until everyone's schedules realign. Waiting long chunks of time between decks just makes the pathfinder experience more authentic. How much waiting is enough? AD4 was supposed to be out in June. 'Unexpected bugs' was the reason Obsidian claimed. Then July came and went and still no AD4. All we got were new chests where half the stuff we open cannot be used yet. Then in August, what do we get? New dice skins and an update so small (for a promo card 99% of the world cannot get) it might as well be a middle finger from Obsidian. I bet you all these cosmetic add-ons are causing these bugs as well as the re-programming the developers need to do to make the game more in line with the F2P business model. And before anyone points it out, I'll admit that I'm angry and I'm angry because I love this game and I'm tired of waiting!
  18. You guys are so forgiving but it's hurting the game if we keep praising them when they finally deliver. Things are bad for the game and to me it feels like Obsidian has more or less given up on their iOS/Android timeline as their F2P concept isn't making them enough and shifted the majority of their focus onto the Steam launch. Regardless of how optimistic you guys are, it's the end of August and there hasn't been any patch notes for 1.04 which means we won't be getting it as promised.
  19. Overly critical? Is waiting a quarter of a year for an adventure deck being overly critical? Considering the in-app store listed AD4 as 'Coming June' and currently lists it as 'Coming July' when August is nearly over, craps all over 'no promises of August release'. And 'hopefully' is as good as a promise when it comes to business. Just blindly defending a company harms it more than me being 'overly critical'. At least I say what I mean and not giving a false sense of accomplishment. Sales of the game could be much better but it's bogged down for poor programming foundations and lack of content. I'm a customer and I'm disappointed by their performance.
  20. Looks like AD4 will not be released in August either. 3 days left in August and still no patch notes about 1.04 and developers skirting around this thread and not commenting. Shameful.
  21. You guys aren't saying anything I'm not already aware of. There's less than a week left in August and it's again feeling like we're gonna be let down by Obsidian. A quarter of a year for new content? 1.03/AD3 came out May 27 according to the Apple store and tomorrow will be exactly 3 months after that. I really hope Flounder keeps his promise this time but the lack of response to this thread by the developers is not hopeful.
