Your issue with mixing can easily be solved by requiring players to fully finish a set before they can add it to another.

....You realize that you can totally house rule anything in the physical game, and the rules for the app are based on popular house rules, Right? Thats why it doesn't really matters what the official stance on mixing is as long as they allow us the choice to do what we like to do.

I don't think it really matters. You are not supposed to replay scenarios in the physical game and death is death but in the digital version these are options. You have the choice to do it or not. Thats why i liked this and bought the bundle even though i already got the physical one. They made it so that people can choose the fun they like instead of sticking hard to the rules.

You have create a new party of new characters. Run through the adventures until you get the spear again. Then pass it to your old party by swapping its members.

There is post for the physical game regarding this. It's because the horsechopper is such a haphazard goblin weapon that trying to use it in a proper manner makes it worse. So in short its a goblin thing.

I would just add that you can auto fail the check but not refuse to take the check.

I think that is mainly because it takes so long to reach the next tier and it will get longer the further you go. In contrast, each adventure just need 5 scenario clears. I feel that quest mode is mainly for gold acquistion.

At the lower right side of the character potrait, there is a ... button. Click it and you have the options to do so

Ya but whether to mix it can be optional. Players don't have to mix if they don't want to.
