Nexus 6, Beta 2 Build. No Permadeath, No Pass and Play. Story Mode. Party: Ezren, Lini, Merisiel, Harsk, Sajan, Valeros Probably a known issue, but "Detect ???" cards that successfully catch what they are looking for, allowing you to hit the encounter button will work correctly but fail to show the card art. -
Beta 2 Patch Notes
nimoyfish replied to Darren Monahan's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
I believe there are certain cards that have both reveal and discard options that cause this problem. If you reveal -> cancel, sometimes the card stays in the reveal slot and becomes irrecoverable. You also lose the dice you gained from the reveal, but can no longer interact with the card. Do you remember if you peeked at the Charm Person card before? Do you remember how? -

Nexus 6, Beta 2 Build. No Permadeath, No Pass and Play. Story Mode. Party: Ezren, Lini, Merisiel, Harsk, Sajan, Valeros Reproducible Bug with Ilsoari Gandethus (speculation: there are other peeking cards that also cause this) If you peek with Ilsoari and then encounter the peeked card without shuffling. The game will hang (no way to move to discard phase of encounters). Tested repeatedly and this happens consistently. Thankfully I luckily first (or third time) encountered this bug with Merisiel, which I guess is a common Ilsoari holder. In her case, if you don't interact with the encounter but evade the encounter instead, you can continue playing. Having hit a hung game state in other situations (I can verify that I didn't have Ilsoari in the Seoni post from above) leads me to believe that there are certain sequences of peeking at cards that causes the game to hang. I also had this happen to Ezren in my current playthrough (forgot the circumstance), but thankfully I figured out I could evade the encounter via Temple (had exactly two cards in hand!) Nexus 6. Beta 2 Build. After deleting all saves and starting a new adventure, the previous save's used characters appear in the "Experienced" section. They have no feats or card list changes, but they shouldn't appear at all. I should only see new characters. https://goo.gl/photos/hsTwsL2MdA4BiXES8 -

Beta 2 build. Android Nexus 10. Party selection screen, click on any character, inspect decklist. [bUG] I can't scroll the decklist if there are exactly two cards (one on the left and one on the right) that aren't entirely readable. For Ezren, who has a lot of unique cards, I can scroll, which lets me see the final cards on the side, but I still can't scroll all the way over and have it stay. Instead I get bounced back to one card over. -
How Character Persistence, Parties and the "Box" works.
nimoyfish replied to StormbringerGT's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
Questions: 1) When/how can you see your party composition has changed cards because its trying to limit duplicates? 2) How can online multiplayer handle the same character/how does it prevent it? 3) Can we choose which character and which card to replace the limited card with? Comments/Feedback/Ideas: I'd be ok with a non-dynamic vault that behaves mostly like the physical game. If you have too many characters/parties such that there aren't enough cards, you can at that time decide to fill cards in by taking the set of non restricted cards that shoud be in the adventure (# - 2 floored at B right?) and randomly choosing from there. This way there's not a ton of "farming" that can be done, which I think is a good thing. This would also be a reason to buy chests (I can sense people being unhappy about that statement already). Also, you can always delete a character to free all those cards back into the vault, right? -

Beta2 build. Clicked on Party Selection screen. [bUG] All experienced characters have their decks and feats reset (according to looking at the deck list). Clicked on experienced characters, I have in my party Valeros, Ezren, Seoni, Sajan. [FEATURE REQUEST] I can't delete any of these because they are in my adventuring party. The delete button isn't greyed out, it just looks like flat text. It should be greyed out and clicking on it should prompt me to remove the characters from my party. [bUG] I have experienced characters that I've never used (Merisiel/Kyra). -

Suggestion: 500 Gold Cost for Burnt Offerings
nimoyfish replied to Jeftidastl's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
A special offer for two or so characters at a lower price would do wonders. I don't feel like I'm actually playing pathfinder with just a 2 player party. Merisiel + Kyra is also not my favorite pairing, but if I could get something like Valeros + Lem as well for 2000 gold (50%) off, it would make it a lot better. -
This is on the known bug list, but man, it's so annoying. It also prevents people from using different party compositions across different adventures =(.

Since all phases of turns are optional, you can just keep on hitting the double red arrow (phase 4) until you run out of time? This works really well if you only have one character remaining. Not a solution, but a stopgap way to do it for now.

Story Mode (Lini, Lem, Harsk, Mirisiel), No Pass and Play, No Permadeath TLDR: 1) Goblin Warchanter's first wisdom check is super buggy 2) Characters no longer unlocked after data wipe (gold/adventures/chests still exist) Goblin Warchanter has the text: "Before the encounter, succeed at a Wisdom 8 check or you may not play spells with the attack trait or weapons" Encountered with Lem (holding force missile). The check dropdown only shows "Combat" and doesn't say Wisdom (it should), and is using d4s, which is Lem's strength die. After discarding force missile, the check now changes to "Wisdom" and I have Lem's d6. I use two blessings from other party members and pass the wisdom check. Now I suddenly have 1d10 + 2d4 +2 (skill feat). I try to add one more blessing to the check and I suddenly get a "Wisdom" check and just a d6 again. Clicking different things ends up losing the image of the warchanter next, and I have immovable die that I cannot roll. ------------------------ Game basically ends up in a crashed state. I restarted the game, cleared the cache, started a new adventure, and then tried to start the original save again, and it always just caused the entire client to hang. After some more futile tries, I decide to do the drastic thing and delete the app data from android settings. After logging in again, I still have my chests, leftover gold, and the adventure paths, but I no longer have any of the characters. Used the gold I had left to buy different characters and will be restarting with (Seoni, Valeros, Ezren, Sajan). Apologies that I didn't get screenshots.

Problem with Holy Candle changes
nimoyfish replied to Alklein35's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
I would also like a developer to explain this change. I actually think Holy Candle is a little too powerful and becomes a party auto include in most situations, so a nerf makes sense. However, making it a banish card makes it weak to the point of useless. Specifically, I'd probably rather just run out of time than stock holy candles "just in case I'm close". -
[bug report] Throne Room + Lem cheat
nimoyfish posted a question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
Story Mode (Lini, Lem, Harsk, Mirisiel), No Pass and Play, No Permadeath If Lem starts a turn in the throne room with an item and several spells in hand (Call them spell 1, spell 2, spell 3), and has discarded spells (spell 4, spell 5, spell 6). There are two start of turn powers in play: 1) Versatile Performance (Discard one <boon> in hand to get one <boon> in discard back) 2) Throne Room (Recharge one item to draw a card) Sequence: 1) Versatile Performance: choose spell 1 to discard, drag spell 4 into hand 2) Throne Room: choose item to recharge 3) Throne Room Cancel: Hit the left 'X' mark <-- this resets the game to start of turn Go back to step 1, repeat until you have used versatile performance as many times as you need -
[bug report] Wildcard Powers behaving oddly
nimoyfish posted a question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
Story Mode (Lini, Lem, Harsk, Mirisiel), No Pass and Play, No Permadeath Painful Memory: "If you acquire a spell, item, or blessing, bury a card" This also triggers when an ally is acquired. This power also sometimes doesn't trigger. Conjecture: I believe are related to banes that add to the check difficulty (Bunyip for example). I see these increase in check difficulty powers listed where the wildcard powers usually are sometimes. It's possible other powers are also behaving this way, but I don't check the challenge rating closely enough to be sure. -

How does difficulty unlocking work?
nimoyfish replied to Borissimo's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
Great news and thanks for the clarification! I was also really worried about how to handle multiple versions of the same base character. I would want both builds of Sajan for instance. Follow up question: 1) How will we differentiate the different versions of each character? Is the filter something where we can nickname specific versions? (Drunk Sajan or Zen Sajan) 2) Why is difficulty unlocked tied to saves? Wouldn't it be easier to just have difficulty unlocked for the entire game once you meet the requirements once? 3) What are saves for? If I can swap multiple copies of characters freely, why wouldn't I just play with only one save all the time? -
Question about Treasure Chests
nimoyfish replied to Alklein35's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
Sad to see someone leave this game because of the treasure chests. I largely agree with Waruko about the differences between CCGs and LCGs, and I find the blind purchase model of Magic/Hearthstone to be off putting. However, I don't think that's an accurate comparison to how chests work in Pathfinder Adventures. Pathfinder Adventures is not player vs. player, which means equal access to the entire available card pool is not a very important requirement for enjoyment. Since buying the adventure (real money or in game gold) gives you the entire card pool in the original game, any cards you gain from chests is just icing on the cake. Not buying chests has no adverse effect on a person playing the game if we can agree that the baseline release is sufficient. Given that it'll be equivalent to the physical game, I'm happy to claim that this is so. I don't think you can complain that your experience suffers from someone else playing the game with some added cards (just like physical promo cards). Another persons deck composition and game state have zero interaction with your game -- this is in stark contrast to something like hearthstone. I was the one who said "just a way for people who have the season pass to use their gold". I should have been more clear. I meant "have the season pass" as "people who plan on spending real money to buy the adventure paths". If you plan on saving your gold for Skulls and Shackles or a future adventure path, the chests don't stop you from doing that. For people who are just accruing gold by playing the game and have nothing else to spend it on, chests act as a possible outlet. Getting free random cards for just playing the game doesn't seem like such a terrible idea. As to blind purchase being anti-consumer -- 100% true. For me though, given that 1) its earned in-game currency, 2) you can use said currency to buy the full base experience without dealing with blind purchases (just like LCGs), 3) the base game is free to play, and 4) Obsidian needs to get paid somehow to keep making this awesome content, I'm pretty happy with how chests have turned out. -
Question about Treasure Chests
nimoyfish replied to Alklein35's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
Thanks for the clarifications! I assume this means you can only salvage cards from treasure chests (which would be a pretty bad return on the gold spent). Chests are just a way for people who have the season pass to use their gold, which seems reasonable. -
Question about Treasure Chests
nimoyfish replied to Alklein35's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
On the stream, they were talking about how the cards from chests function in terms of deck building: Getting cards from chests is akin to putting them into the relevant pile of possible cards (AP #) when drawing them to build locations. This means that even if you open a bunch of chests, you still need to go find a specific card by playing through scenarios and hope you get lucky to encounter it AND be able to acquire it while beating the scenario. This makes buying chests a fairly dubious proposition unless they use chests as a gating mechanism for certain cards, which would be incredibly distasteful... They also mentioned that you can salvage cards for gold, which could mean the ability to thin out the possible cards you can get to only the ones you want, which is another kind of game breaking or an (un)intended and complex way to manipulate game strategy. I'm looking forward to more clarification on what's available without chest purchases as well as an explanation on how the card vault behaves. As a purist, I would like it to be true that I can play the digital game and expect the card distributions to be very close to the physical counterpart.
