Well, the fact that some players can't ponder CRPGs as being any fun without combat/violence is fairly telling. It also showcases, perhaps, how the medium is still in its infancy.

Just finished Chapter 1. My first impressions were how beautiful HDR (from the intro) actually is in this game, as opposed to just having the game set on the Sun like most other games abusing bloom do. Frankly, an intro made in CG would have been a step down. Not necessarily a bad thing, since that's how HL works. I'm definitely seeing the appeal of more devs doing episodic content if it means more condensed gaming time. We'll see if Obs follows suit with DD mods for NWN2.

What do you think is easier to produce mass amounts of? Dialogue that doesn't make players throw the game away in disgust, or lots of stuff to murder and ravage?

I dunno, I haven't been following it really since I finished it so many years ago, so I have no idea which mods are good and whatnot. In terms of XP, there should be a way to play it, I just didn't really look into it. But that's just me being lazy/awesome.

Just bear in mind that Wizzie8 is very combat-intense, some of which can become quite tedious when there are too many underpowered opponents and you have to wait for all of them to make their move. Otherwise, very fun and challenging combat system. I love the 'personality' system. Though, actually, I tried to reinstall it at some point, but it doesn't seem to work with WinXP.

Well, I didn't really find many mods that I actually consider worth playing save a few. If it weren't for the toolset allowing me to mess around with it and make my own mods and I had to depend on other people's to entertain me, NWN would have ended up a major disappointment. On the other hand, NWN2 is currently my most anticipated game precisely for said toolset. Gotta let out all that pent-up sexual designer frustration.

In other news, Squenix, forgetting the concept of multi-discs, has justified the PS3-exclusivity of FFXIII/FFversuswhatever by pointing out how one DVD couldn't possibly be able to contain the 'type of visual expression' being produced in those games. Because that's the main reason!
