  1. It states that when compared to the "average inhabitant" in my nation, a person of morroccan descent is 6 times more likely to appear in the crimestatistics. If you have a different version, Im dying to hear it. No. I was more curious if you were concluding that people of Moroccan descent are more likely to commit murders, which many people do. Though if you recognize what the stat actually puts, it makes it more curious why you used it given that it undermines your usage of it. If it's only from one group, how is that an indictment towards multiculturalism? There's more than two cultures in the world.
  2. All that money/alloys generally are better spent on another stuff, though, IMO. I wouldn't disagree, but then I've never really used SHIVs so it's hard for me to say. I don't use them because I have the mentality "Why use something that can't level up?" but perhaps my way of thinking is not sound? I just started an ironman classic game (again...) and I'll try out some SHIVs.
  3. SHIVs can be heavily upgraded in the foundry, and they are nice to have if you only have squaddies/rookies due to death/injury to your main guys.
  4. My comment makes no statement that all people would be equal. Just that they identify themselves differently. In my country, most people identify themselves as Canadian. That doesn't make us all equal.
  5. Just curious, but do you fully understand what this stat is saying? Very much so. But perhaps you would like to elaborate? Ah, but I specifically asked because I don't want to lead you to the actual answer. So I'll ask a bit differently: what does the statistic you provide actually state?

  7. Actually, I suppose I was the one being a bit too subtle. My point is that that comment is irrelevant and has no genuine bearing on the discussion. First, it's based on assumptions, and second, it starts to become an ad hominem attack. At best the comment becomes some level of unsolicited advice which is not necessary and may not even be accurate.
  8. No worries mate. In any case it's a /facepalm moment for someone that set up the system.
  9. And the person who did it was said an employee in this hypothetical situation, not the consumer. Actually, that's not true. Unless you're alleging that it was an EA person that went and posted it on Reddit and so forth. The closest analogy is going to be "Someone obtained access through legitimate means, and decided to distribute said access to other people that weren't technically qualified for said offer." So, unless the person that obtained the access to the coupon and posted it online was actually the employee, your comparison is incorrect. The coupon analogy I think is pretty apt since Subway actually stopped their Sub Club cards due to counterfeits as well. Lets just call a spade a spade: Someone got access and realized it wasn't restricted, so they shared it with other people on a public forum (known as the internet). I'm not surprised people would take advantage of the situation. Simple economics has people wanting to accumulate as much of their wants and needs for as little cost possible, and this enabled them to do it through a pretty direct and official means of doing so.
  10. Some people just have bones to pick Ferret's a good guy and I was glad to have met him. Was sad to see him leave, though in talking with him it was motivated in large part by family reasons as new parents. I have no problems admitting that Dragon Age 2 is not as good of a product as Dragon Age: Origins, but I absolutely will not agree with this. I have to go to a movie festival so I can't detail the reasoning by which I liked some of my favourites (three of which are Isabela, Aveline, and Varric) at this time, but if you *really* want me to, I will.
  11. So pretty much it is that you're afraid of losing the power and influence you wield. Gotcha! It wasn't quite the insecurity of an antiquated belief in culture, but rather just the more typical and common "I don't want to change because I like being the privileged one!" Glad that's cleared up!
  12. Is the fact that we didn't pick up on it a good thing? Or were you hoping to be called out for it?
  13. HAHA. Well, that just made it more efficient for people. That's certainly a huge technical issue and I didn't realize that was the case. To go back to the coupon, no "limit one per customer"
  14. It's more akin to printing off some coupons for a specific group of people, and someone going off and photocopying them all and distributing them of their own volition, which results in the promotion being canceled and really the only people that are actually disadvantaged are those that the promotion is intended for no longer receiving said perk.
  15. Squad sight will always work as long as there is no obstruction between your sniper and any unit a fellow squadmate can see. You'll know you can see a target with squadsight because the alien head in the lower right will have a little yellow crosshair on it.
  16. Eh, I still think your statement is presumptuous. He might already have a girlfriend for all we know so the point is moot.
  17. There's actually diminishing returns, because (and this is a bit silly) I find weapon fragments are typically more valuable than the weapons you capture (once you can outfit everyone in plasma).
  18. Eh... There's plenty of women that don't believe in birth control or abortions. I shared a link earlier in this thread about a woman that moved to Canada and was originally repulsed by the idea that Canada's health insurance covers abortions. My own Mom doesn't believe in abortions (I think her reasoning is a bit silly, but she is religiously conservative). EDIT: Here it is again
  19. At first I found it pretty balanced, but with Gunslinger and pistol upgrades, the ability to move and shoot with a pistol is usually sufficient for me I find.
  20. Silent Storm says hello (as does Fallout Tactics for that matter)... But yeah, these types of games aren't exactly common. So it's good that we get some fantastic ones every now and then. The problem with Silent Storm is it's story took a complete turn for the absurd and stupid with the panzerkleins.
  21. I admit it was kind of fun firing off some advice to Ray Muzyka ^_^
  22. I don't know. Still seems like you're mostly just insecure about ethnic minorities being given good positions such as Minister of Culture because it undermines the power advantage you'd possess in your homogeneous majority. I mean, if "those people" can get positions, what other slippery slopes will there be!?
  23. Most people are cold and self-serving.
  24. The trial was pretty dope in that one I agree! :D
