Thanks for your reply. I purchased the game from GOG and where I got the latest patch. Been thinking of going the Expert Mode this time. I know it raises the strength of encounters/enemies but does your PC and NPC party members also receive benefits as well? Thanks again.

I played PoE minus White March 1 and 2 in the Fall of 2015. I decided to start another game but this time with WM 1&2. A. I have already updated the basic game to the latest patch 3.03 without WM 1 and 2 installed. Was this a mistake to do so? In other words, should I have installed 1&2 first? B. Can I start a new game and add WM 1&2 later or is it best to have them installed first? Since I already have the game patched to 3.03 will it apply to WM 1&2 or will I need to go back and reinstall? Thanks.

I too agree with Ranger. Delivering damage from a distance is so very satisfying.

Specific triggers along the way BUT they must be with you at the right time and right place.

I am fine with it with the hope that Obsidian will be better versed with the Unity Engine so that when patching is needed it will not cause headaches like 2.01 has been. From what I understand about Unity 5 it is better all around than 4 but as pi2repsion points out that due to their deep workings with 4 they may optimize it that there is greater stability. There is a lot of good to great ideas in PoE. I hope they continue to optimize what works and implement changes based on what they observe from the myriad of issues with the current game.

Ah, I came here searching for answers on this very issue. I am running with 2.0 and what is weird is that on occasion this spell will work -- but rarely. And since it is a well known issue I hope there will be a soon forthcoming fix...

I am playing with Patch 2.0 and I have come across only one glitch so far and that was a ring. owned by an NPC.

Are you serious? I found many on my gog version. Can't believe the bugs only happen on gogs version, shouldnt be that different. If you go to the PoE Steam Forums people are reporting issues as well.

I have played BG 1 and 2, NWN 1 and 2, as well as a large number of CRPGs in general. I have also played P&P rpgs more years than I want to count. So even though it has been quite a few years since I have done any games such games in the PoE genre' I have a lot of CPRG experience; I am not a novice. That being said I have done a lot of research on the character builds, etc. before purchasing this game which brings me to the following questions: 1. From what I can gather Patch 2.01 has had a lot of issues. In your opinion based on experience should I hold off installing until the bugs are corrected? 2. If I only want to do the basic game and not do The White March is the latest patch for the basic game also causing issues? 3. As stated previously, I have done considerable research on character builds but I have read at a number of places that the latest patches have affected such classes as fighter and cipher (the later has been described as "nerfed") and boosting the ranger. Are these changes significant enough to warrent further research or is older character builds that predate these patches still viable? Thanks much.
