Amnesia creeps back into the news again
Topaz Quasar replied to kumquatq3's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
What they did say is that the character doesn't know why you're at the station. Another preview indicated you wake up in a medical tank, suggesting you were knocked unconcious and injured. -
Just in case there is a permanent happy face rule............ :D

Take the IGN statement with a grain of salt. -
Zabrak's tend to use tatooes as a sign of heritage or kinship. In the case of Darth Maul, he used those tatooes to symbolize his allegiance to the Sith.

The It's Disappointing Thread II - The Sequel
Topaz Quasar replied to Adria Teksuni's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
And how many people saw that before you posted it? I sure didn't. I pretty much expected it would be out in February. I would've thought others shared a similarily reasonable expectation but some have disappointed me. -

Yep; basically they WANTED it to be out in December. And now that reality has hit them in the face, they're throwing tantrums. They also are trying to blame LucasArts to cover up for their own selfish desire. <_< -

Enter captain oblivious. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, we know who you are. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not the one who repeats the same rheteric all the time, despite the fact it's been explained to him that that's not why people are upset. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Greetings, Denial, it's good to see you today. -

The It's Disappointing Thread II - The Sequel

1. What does "bogdamn" mean? Is that where you're condemned to living like a hermit in a swamp like Yoda? 2. Most people who complain still want to play the game. But it seems they don't like the idea of X-Box players playing the game before them, so they invoke a self-righteous sense of outrage. In short, they only complain because they want to have their cake and eat it too. -
The It's Disappointing Thread II - The Sequel

They never did say "December" at all. Since Winter wraps around the New Year, technically "Winter 2004" can extend from December 2004 to March 2005 because that's the duration of winter (from solstice to equinox). Eight weeks won't kill anyone. -
I really like orange and I hope it's in KOTOR2 (and I mean orange like in Jedi Academy).
-
The X-Box version is slightly closer to being finished. (but it's not as much of a gap as the first one) 2 months is nothing really.
-
Yes, because I don't want to play a game that I've been waiting for since it was first announced. Worst response you've ever come up with. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you really want to play the game, what difference does LucasArts marketing make if you're going to buy and play it anyway?
-
Then don't buy the game and stop coming to the site! And it isn't false advertising. The PC version is still coming out in Feburary like they planned. If you're going to buy the X-Box version why does the fact it's coming out first truly matter?
-
So if it didn't ruin gameplay, what the hell is your problem? You people need to get your priorities straight.....don't play games if you're going to get frustrated because you feel a game publisher is "playing favorites." And if you still don't see my point, please see a counseler/therapist/psychatrist.
-
And how exactly did that ruin the GAMEPLAY of KOTOR? It sure didn't ruin it for me.......
-
Now I'm starting to think you guys have some major problems. If having to find something to do for two months after Christmas is "punishment" then I really hope you see a therapist.......
-
1. You can AVOID KOTOR2 related forums for 2 months and do something else in the meantime. I was able to avoid KOTOR1 spoilers last year; so can you. 2. What do you mean by overlooked? Was KOTOR1 PC version inferior to the X-Box version? No I do not.
-
You say "simultaenous release" is a selling point. If someone's only going to buy the PC version, why would they even care when the X-Box version is out if they are NOT getting that version? You see...I'm only getting the PC version. Now, I pretty much expected Feb. 2005 release for PC version, so nothing really has changed for me. Since I am not getting the X-Box version, it's ultimately meaningless that it's coming out sooner.
-
Simple, because they performed unethical business practices. advertising one selling point and promising it as a way to hype up the release (and no doubt pre-orders for the game) and then completely dropping that selling point without so much as even an official reason. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How is it a selling point if most people only buy ONE version?
-
Do you actually read what people post, or do you just stick to your "it's only 2 months, no big deal" rheteric? It seems you intentionally ignore the reasons given and respond with "geeze people, it's only 2 months". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I do read it, and all I see are spoiled children crying because they won't have the PC version for Christmas and don't know what to do with themselves until the release date. You're sidestepping my question: Why does it really matter that LucasArts "promised" simultaneous release? If you're only going to play the PC version WHY would even care when it's coming out on the X-Box?
-
And why exactly is a simultaneously release important? If you're only getting the PC version, why would you care about the X-Box version?
-
That's the quote. Well maybe they miscalculated initially. Afterall, if they changed something about gameplay in the X-Box version that was going to be changed in the PC version anyway; perhaps they were hoping it would be a smoother transition than with the first game.
-
That's not a fact; that was something you selectively interpereted from what was said. The actual gameplay, story, etc. may be at the same point in development. But the code for the X-Box version is closer to being ready than the PC version. After all, console hardware doesn't change like PC hardware. Maybe Obsidian & LucasArts were just a little too optimistic.
